What is Barakah?

As-Salāmu ‘Alaykum wa RaḥmatuLlāhi wa Barakātuh. A‘ūdhu BiLlāhi Minash-shayṭāni r-rajīm. BismiLlāhi r-Raḥmāni r-Raḥīm. Wa ṣ-Salātu wa s-Salāmu ‘alá Rasūlinā Muḥammadin Sayyidi l-Awwalīna wa l-Akhirīn. Madad yā RasūlAllāh, Madad yā Sādāti Aṣḥābi RasūliLlāh, Madad yā Mashāyikhinā, Dastūr Mawlana Sheikh Abdullāh al-Fā’iz ad-Dāghistāni, Sheikh Muḥammad Nāẓim al- Ḥaqqānī. Madad. Ṭarīqatunā aṣ-Suḥbah wa l-Khayru fi l-Jam‘iyyah.

Our Holy Prophet ṣallá Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam says the Ummah is upon Barakah. Who believes in the Prophet ﷺ, who walks on the way of our Holy Prophet ṣallá Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam, who asks for Barakah and Halal things from Allah ﷻ - Allah ﷻ gives him that Barakah.

Barakah is a secret from the secrets of Allah ‘Azza wa-Jalla. Where is Barakah? It is in Iman, in Islam and in those who are on the way of Allah ﷻ. Some places have more Barakah. Also with Muslim places. Otherwise, there is no Barakah. There is lack of Barakah in places where they don’t believe in Allah ﷻ. Even if there is everything but no Barakah, there is no benefit. They may grow their bodies, they may eat and drink more. But the actual benefit of Barakah is for people’s spirituality. Spirituality asks for Barakah. Without Barakah, spirituality has no benefit. It has no use.

How does Barakah come? Barakah comes through believing in Allah ﷻ and walking on the way of Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla like He ﷻ wants. Barakah comes with BismiLlah. Barakah comes when you don’t waste. Barakah comes with generosity. There are many things that lead to Barakah. Mankind has forgotten all of them. As we are living in the end of times, these things don’t strike their minds at all. They are striving in order to collect more, to do more work and to have more funds in the bank. The things they strive for have no Barakah.

How can you have Barakah? By making intention to be on the way of Allah ﷻ and to do everything for the pleasure of Allah ﷻ. We must make intention so that our Rizq brings Barakah to our children and benefit to Ummah. When it is so, there will be no jealousy and no envy. Without them, there is Barakah. Jealousy and envy remove Barakah.

Therefore, Mu’mins have Barakah. There are many Muslims who are jealous of each other and dig a pit for each other. But Mu’mins are not so. Mu’mins wish goodness and Barakah to everyone. May Allah ﷻ give Barakah to everyone insha’Allah. May Allah ﷻ protect us. There are people in very difficult situations. Yet, they are saved with the Barakah of Allah ‘Azza wa-Jalla. With the secret of the Barakah of Allah ‘Azza wa-Jalla, even though they are in a difficult situation, Allah ﷻ is helping them. Barakah is important. It is the help and aid of Allah ‘Azza wa-Jalla. May Allah ﷻ not lack His ﷻ Barakah from us.
