Why Were We Created?

As-Salāmu ‘Alaykum wa RaḥmatuLlāhi wa Barakātuh. A‘ūdhu BiLlāhi Minash-shayṭāni r-rajīm. BismiLlāhi r-Raḥmāni r-Raḥīm. Wa ṣ-Salātu wa s-Salāmu ‘alá Rasūlinā Muḥammadin Sayyidi l-Awwalīna wa l-Akhirīn. Madad yā RasūlAllāh, Madad yā Sādāti Aṣḥābi RasūliLlāh, Madad yā Mashāyikhinā, Dastūr Mawlana Sheikh Abdullāh al-Fā’iz ad-Dāghistāni, Sheikh Muḥammad Nāẓim al- Ḥaqqānī. Madad. Ṭarīqatunā aṣ-Suḥbah wa l-Khayru fi l-Jam‘iyyah.

Bismi Llāhi r-Raḥmāni r-Raḥīm:

‘Afaĥasibtum ‘Annamā Khalaqnākum `Abathāan’, ‘Then did you think that We created you uselessly?’ (Qur’ān 23:115). “We did not create you by coincidence”, says Allah ‘Azza wa-Jalla. Why did He ﷻ create us? In order to obey and worship Allah ﷻ. “We gave this to test you”, says Allah ‘Azza wa-Jalla.

Many people nowadays say, “Why were we created?” Some of them go further and say they don’t want this life. There are some people who ruin themselves. And many people rebel. Allah ‘Azza wa-Jalla created us. “I didn’t create you for nothing,” says Allah ‘Azza wa-Jalla. You may accept it or not. But if you want goodness for yourself, go on the way of Allah ﷻ. Who goes on the way of Allah ﷻ will be fine both here and hereafter. But people who always rebel and don’t like anything live in suffering here and will find it even worse hereafter.

You cannot ask, “Why did You do this? Why did You do this like that?” from Allah ‘Azza wa-Jalla. People get used to what the shaytan says. It works for their egos. But these rebellions and oppositions to Allah ﷻ are for the badness of the ego. Allah ‘Azza wa-Jalla created you in the appearance of humans and has favored you. Instead of making Shukr for this and worshipping Allah ﷻ -

The word of Allah ﷻ is true, not like people who speak for nothing, who promise a thousand things but don’t keep one of it. ‘, ’Inna wa’da Llāhi ḥaqq’, ‘Indeed, the promise of Allah is truth.’ (Qur’ān 30:60). The promise of Allah ﷻ is true. If you do this, there is paradise for you in Akhirah. And there is goodness for you in this world. Otherwise, people who say “We were created all of a sudden as a coincidence” don’t have any rest or inner peace, as they don’t know why they came to this world.

People who have inner peace are those who have Iman, who make Shukr to Allah ﷻ for the favors He ﷻ gives, who obey Him ﷻ. They have inner peace and comfort. The rest are like the people who start a journey but don’t know where they are going. How far will you go? “I don’t know.” What will you do? “I don’t know.” How will these people feel? Will they be comfortable in their journey? They are not aware of what will happen, whereas Allah ‘Azza wa-Jalla told us everything. “You will go here and there. You must do this when the time comes. Otherwise, you will do that.” Allah ‘Azza wa-Jalla made everything planned and programmed for Mu’mins. They are in comfort. Otherwise, they have no comfort, no peace. May Allah ﷻ protect us.

This is the illness of our era. People don’t like anything. They don’t accept anything. And then they complain. They complain about the government. They complain about the country. They complain about the municipality. They complain about this and that. But they don’t see their own mistakes. May Allah ﷻ help us. May Allah ﷻ give guidance insha’Allah.
