Shāh Naqshband’s Birth Anniversary

As-Salāmu ‘Alaykum wa RaḥmatuLlāhi wa Barakātuh. A‘ūdhu BiLlāhi Minash-shayṭāni r-rajīm. BismiLlāhi r-Raḥmāni r-Raḥīm. Wa ṣ-Salātu wa s-Salāmu ‘alá Rasūlinā Muḥammadin Sayyidi l-Awwalīna wa l-Akhirīn. Madad yā RasūlAllāh, Madad yā Sādāti Aṣḥābi RasūliLlāh, Madad yā Mashāyikhinā, Dastūr Mawlana Sheikh Abdullāh al-Fā’iz ad-Dāghistāni, Sheikh Muḥammad Nāẓim al- Ḥaqqānī. Madad. Ṭarīqatunā aṣ-Suḥbah wa l-Khayru fi l-Jam‘iyyah.

“Ṭarīqatunā ṣ- ṣuḥbah wa l-khayru fi l-jam‘iyyah.” Sayyidina Shāh Baha’uddin Naqshband said this holy word 12,000 times in his life. Why are we saying this? Because it is his holy birthday today [14th of Muharram]. He did a beautiful service and showed the beautiful way to us. This way, the way of Allah ﷻ and our Holy Prophet ﷺ goes on until Qiyamah. It was named differently before him. And after him, they called it the way of Baha’uddin Naqshbandi.

Allah ‘Azza wa-Jalla says when righteous people are mentioned, mercy descends. Therefore, their holy lives are a lesson and a beautiful example for people. Their lives consisted of all kinds of goodness and all kinds of beauty. He was born in Bukhara Sharif. He taught the beautiful and right way of the Islamic religion to people. He taught and showed this way to ten thousands and hundred thousands of Murids. They spread all over the world and shared this beautiful light of Allah ‘Azza wa-Jalla. They made people love it. This light reached them too. And it will reach until Qiyamah with the permission of Allah ﷻ.

He did a great service, because his way is beautiful and pure. His way is the way of our Holy Prophet ﷺ. The way of our Holy Prophet ﷺ is a beautiful way. It is to serve people sincerely and to transmit this beauty from heart to heart. It does not remain outside on the tongue without entering the heart, but it enters the heart. Therefore, this way of several hundred years which comes since our Holy Prophet ﷺ reached us through him. Whoever joins this way joins the best way. He is not effected by others and attains the pleasure of Allah ﷻ.

Our Holy Prophet ṣallá Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam says, “There are such people that you feel embarrassed when they pray. They pray so neatly. And your worship is nothing compared to their worship.” He ﷺ said this to the Sahabah, not to us. There is such a group of people from the Ummah. But when they read Qur’an, it doesn’t go below their tongues. This is not about us. Our praying is casual as we see. Our Holy Prophet ﷺ says that even the prayers of the Sahabah are like 1% next to the praying of those people. They do it only in form, but it is not accepted at all, says our Holy Prophet ﷺ. As they do it for their egos with arrogance, egocentrism and badness, those prayers don’t bring benefit. The benefit comes when it reaches your heart as our Holy Prophet ṣallá Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam says.

This way, this Tariqah is reaching our hearts as light from the way shown by holy ones. And it brings benefit to others. That light doesn’t remain still. It spreads to everyone. May Allah ﷻ raise his Maqam. May his Himmah (support) be present upon us insha’Allah. May Allah ﷻ let everyone go on his way insha’Allah.
