Be Amicable with People

As-Salāmu ‘Alaykum wa RaḥmatuLlāhi wa Barakātuh. A‘ūdhu BiLlāhi Minash-shayṭāni r-rajīm. BismiLlāhi r-Raḥmāni r-Raḥīm. Wa ṣ-Salātu wa s-Salāmu ‘alá Rasūlinā Muḥammadin Sayyidi l-Awwalīna wa l-Akhirīn. Madad yā RasūlAllāh, Madad yā Sādāti Aṣḥābi RasūliLlāh, Madad yā Mashāyikhinā, Dastūr Mawlana Sheikh Abdullāh al-Fā’iz ad-Dāghistāni, Sheikh Muḥammad Nāẓim al- Ḥaqqānī. Madad. Ṭarīqatunā aṣ-Suḥbah wa l-Khayru fi l-Jam‘iyyah.

One of the beautiful attributes of our Holy Prophet ﷺ is having good relations with people, treating them well, doing goodness and getting along with everyone well. That is his ﷺ way. And we must do the same. The better you get along with people, the better it will be. You will go on our Holy Prophet’s ﷺ way.

As long as people don’t want to harm you directly, you can get along with them well. You can manage around people. Certainly, when you want to do something, there are two ways. One is with badness and another one is with goodness. You should always choose goodness so that you don’t have a headache. You will walk on our Holy Prophet’s ﷺ way. And you can earn people. You can be friends with them. You will attract them to the right way.

If you are an enemy to people, it will not have any benefit. You will do badness, and the opposite side will distance themselves away from beautiful ways and goodness. Therefore, they say goodness brings goodness, and badness brings badness. All ways should lead to goodness. Sometimes there is an obstacle on the way. You can go around it and keep on going on the right way. But if you stop there, you won’t move forward.

“Allah ﷻ sent me to be amicable with people.” –, “Allah has commanded me to treat people amicably,” says our Holy Prophet ﷺ. His ﷺ way is beautiful. Oftentimes people see a good person and want to follow his way. They have conversation, and through that conversation they come to the right way. As we said, the way is sometimes blocked. You must think how to open it. And you must open it with goodness. Otherwise, if you do it with badness, you will be stuck there. It will not bring any benefit neither to you, nor to others.

Allah ﷻ has given mind to people to understand each other. If they use this mind, they will go for goodness for sure. But when they don’t use their minds, when they lose their minds, they certainly do badness and then regret it. Therefore, may Allah ﷻ help us all. We are living in difficult days. It is difficult to manage people.

You see that people don’t have patience and burst out in a minute. They swear at each other. Sometimes they go further and fight. They may go even further and kill each other. Therefore, the more people can manage, the more profit they will have. Even when you fight, if you show patience and keep quiet, there will be a trouble, but it will be over in a while. But when you fight back, you will be upset and feel bad all the time. When people can manage it, there is no need to fight and make noise at all insha’Allah.
