Allāh ﷻ is Happy to Forgive

4 min read

As-Salāmu ‘Alaykum wa Raḥmatullāhi wa Barakātuh. A‘ūdhu Billāhi Minash-shayṭāni r-rajīm. Bismillāhi r-Raḥmāni r-Raḥīm. Wa ṣ-Salātu wa s-Salāmu ‘alá Rasūlinā Muḥammadin Sayyidi l-Awwalīna wa l-Akhirīn. Madad yā RasūlAllāh, Madad yā Sādāti Aṣḥābi Rasūlillāh, Madad yā Mashāyikhinā, Dastūr Mawlana Sheikh Abdullāh al-Fā’iz ad-Dāghistāni, Sheikh Muḥammad Nāẓim al-Ḥaqqānī. Madad. Ṭarīqatunā aṣ-Suḥbah wa l-Khayru fi l-Jam‘iyyah.

Bismi Llāhi r-Raḥmāni r-Raḥīm: “ ”, "Yā-ayyuhā lladhīna āmanū tūbū ila Llāh tawbatan naṣūḥan", “O you who have believed, repent to Allah with sincere repentance.” (66:8). Ṣadaqa Llāhu l-‘aẓīm. Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla is the one who accepts repentance. Repent for the sins you have committed, says Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla. Repentance of those who repent is accepted. What they’ve done is forgiven in the presence of Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla. His ﷻ door of forgiveness is open. It is open until a bit to Judgment day. When that door is closed on Judgment day, it is too late. But this time, it is always open.

Mankind is saved from their sins by asking for forgiveness from Allāh ﷻ for their mistakes and sins. They will be saved and lightened. The burden of sins is heavy. A person who commits sins says there is no heaviness. But he doesn't feel it. He doesn't realize he takes on a burden with so much spiritual heaviness. The burden of that sin is very big.

When Banī Isrā’il arrived to Sinai, Mūsá ‘alayhi s-salām was addressed by Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla on Ṭūr mountain and stayed there in conversation. When he returned, his people had started worshipping a calf because of a perverted man. He had made a golden calf, and they were worshipping it. They asked for forgiveness for that. It was not as easy for the sons of Isrā’il to be forgiven as it is for us. Someone had to die to be forgiven. They had to kill each other. Who committed a sin had to sacrifice himself in order to be forgiven. He would place his head on that thing to be cut off. There was no forgiveness otherwise. Only on that condition, Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla said He ﷻ would forgive them. Even though they were... they accepted that, because there was a Prophet. They accepted their sins and decided to be killed if they would be forgiven. It was not as easy to be forgiven, just saying astaghfiru Llāh as it is now. Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla gave us the easy way for the honor of the face of our Holy Prophet ﷺ. So on that day, they

started killing the sinners. Cutting one by one, 70 thousand people were killed from sons of Isrā’il that day. And then they were forgiven. Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla told Mūsá ‘alayhi s-salām to come to Ṭūr mountain with seventy people and that the judgment was not over yet. When they went there, the mountain raised above them in order to crush them. But Mūsá ‘alayhi s-salām begged Allāh ‘Azza waJalla and said, "It is not our fault. Because of the sin of these people, we will be crushed. We are not sinful." Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla forgave them then.

The heaviness of that mountain is the heaviness of our sins. It is so heavy. People don't feel it. They don't feel so much regret for their sins, as there is not so much punishment. We are easily forgiven. Even though we are easily forgiven, people don't want to do it. They don't repent. "What did we do? What is our sin? We just did this." You obeyed your ego, you obeyed shayṭān. Ask for forgiveness from Allāh ﷻ so that He ﷻ forgives you. Don't challenge Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla. Don't go against Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla. When you go against Him ﷻ, not only you, not only this world, but even if all the universe goes against Him ﷻ, they can't do anything against Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla.

Therefore, bow down to Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla. Ask for forgiveness from Him ﷻ in order to be saved from this heaviness and burden. Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla is so merciful that He ﷻ changes sins to thawāb. When you ask for forgiveness for sins you have committed, you are both saved from sins and earn thawāb. Is there something better than this? But mankind is ungrateful. They don't appreciate anything. They don't know goodness. They like those who do badness and keep away from those who do goodness. May Allāh ﷻ protect us. May He ﷻ not let us obey our egos. May Allāh ﷻ not separate us from the right way in shā’a Llāh. May Allāh ﷻ forgive all of us.

Wa min Allah at-Tawfiq. Al-Fatiha.
