Ḥayā’ Comes from Īmān

As-Salāmu ‘Alaykum wa Raḥmatullāhi wa Barakātuh. A‘ūdhu Billāhi Minash-shayṭāni r-rajīm. Bismillāhi r-Raḥmāni r-Raḥīm. Wa ṣ-Salātu wa s-Salāmu ‘alá Rasūlinā Muḥammadin Sayyidi l-Awwalīna wa l-Akhirīn. Madad yā RasūlAllāh, Madad yā Sādāti Aṣḥābi Rasūlillāh, Madad yā Mashāyikhinā, Dastūr Mawlana Sheikh Abdullāh al-Fā’iz ad-Dāghistāni, Sheikh Muḥammad Nāẓim al-Ḥaqqānī. Madad. Ṭarīqatunā aṣ-Suḥbah wa l-Khayru fi l-Jam‘iyyah.

Our Prophet ṣallá Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam says in ḥadīth sharīf, “Al-ḥayā’u mina l-īmān”. Shyness is from faith. A person having shyness, being shy of Allāh ﷻ and being shy of people is from faith. They asked Prophet ṣallá Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam, “Will Jibril ‘alayhi s-salām descend after you? Will the revelation stop?” “He will descend several times”, said Prophet ṣallá Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam. “He will descend to take some things, not to bring down revelation.” He will come down to take away shyness and shame from people. He will take that good thing. People are shameless and have no shyness. They threw away shame. He ﷺ says there will be no shame left.

We are exactly in this time. They do not appreciate the shy person. “He is shy, he doesn’t come out, he can’t talk.” Especially about the girls, “They are shy, they don’t meet with anyone.” It doesn’t seem like an acceptable attribute among people. Why? Because the virtue of shyness has been taken away from people. They now know it as a bad thing.

Therefore, “If you are a shy or ashamed person, go and see a doctor immediately. Let him give you medicine so that you can get better. What a bad thing this is, you have shame! Throw away the shame.” This is how it is in this time. They do what’s worse than that and all kinds of dirty things. They are proud of their shamelessness. They take pride in it saying, “I have no Adab. I have no shyness. I have no shame.” You can’t interfere with them. If you ask, “What are you doing? Aren’t you ashamed?” “He is doing something against us. He is against shayṭān’s order. Let’s disgrace him right away. Let our shayṭān attack him. Let’s disgrace him. If it were in other countries, we would put him in prison. Let’s do something and embarrass him in front of people. This person is a shy, modest man. He talks bad things about shameless people like us and people who set bad examples like us. Let’s cut out his tongue and not let him speak out,” they say. In

this time, we are in a situation that would surprise people. Not people of old times but people of our time - If it were for people of old times, they wouldn’t believe that it would be like this. No one would believe that we are in such a situation. If a person did such badness, he would be ashamed. He wouldn’t want anyone to hear about it. Now he wants to make the whole world hear it, he wants to tell it. And everyone strives to be like him.

These are things that Allāh ﷻ does not approve of or like. These things that Allāh ﷻ does not like are not good things. The things that Allāh ﷻ loves bring goodness to people. It brings all kinds of beauty. What Allāh ﷻ does not like brings all kinds of evil, all kinds of ugliness and disgust. May Allāh ﷻ protect us. May Allāh ﷻ protect people, Muslims and all people from these situations. Because these situations do not suit humanity. Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla created man as beautiful. He ﷻ created him as the most perfect human being. He ﷻ created him to elevate him. People today are racing to get lower. “The lower I am, the more satisfied I will be”, they say.

Exactly as Mawlānā Shaykh Nāẓim would say, sewer mice and rats. Those animals by the wisdom of Allāh ﷻ - of course there is a wisdom in everything. They are as an example also. They wander around in the sewers. Everyone knows it. There is no one who does not know. They are even shown in some movies and so. People see them in the sewer while walking. You see there are mice jumping into that dirt. It swims there and comes out the other side. It doesn’t care. These people are like this. They are pleased when they are in the dirt. They are not happy outside. They get very happy when they are in dirty and disgusting places. They are pleased. They want the same thing to others. Well, this can’t be for others. A clean cat or rabbit or lamb will not get up and jump into this thing. It doesn’t jump into that dirtness. Because they are clean creatures. The unclean ones can live in that thing. The clean ones stay away from those filths. May Allāh ﷻ keep us away and protect us, in shā’a Llāh.
