Find a True Teacher

As-Salāmu ‘Alaykum wa Raḥmatullāhi wa Barakātuh. A‘ūdhu Billāhi Minash-shayṭāni r-rajīm. Bismillāhi r-Raḥmāni r-Raḥīm. Wa ṣ-Salātu wa s-Salāmu ‘alá Rasūlinā Muḥammadin Sayyidi l-Awwalīna wa l-Akhirīn. Madad yā RasūlAllāh, Madad yā Sādāti Aṣḥābi Rasūlillāh, Madad yā Mashāyikhinā, Dastūr Mawlana Sheikh Abdullāh al-Fā’iz ad-Dāghistāni, Sheikh Muḥammad Nāẓim al-Ḥaqqānī. Madad. Ṭarīqatunā aṣ-Suḥbah wa l-Khayru fi l-Jam‘iyyah.

There is always a teacher for people to teach them. They need a person to show them the way. Mankind learns day by day. Instead of learning on their own, they learn much faster with a teacher or someone who teaches them. They attain more knowledge then. This is the acceptable method in everything. You must learn everything from the competent ones. Whatever task you need to do, you must be next to a master, someone who teaches that well. By learning from him, you will become an excellent artist, an excellent teacher, or an excellent ḥojja.

This is the law of Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla. Those who learn on their own are the Prophets. But their teacher is Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla. You can say they don't learn on their own. Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla teaches them. He ﷻ shows them the way so that they teach their ummah. Those who come after them, their companions or who were together with them show the way of the Prophets. The way of our Holy Prophet ṣallá Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam is the same. There are ṣaḥābahs; and after ṣaḥābahs, ‘ālims that show that way. But they must be connected to our Holy Prophet ﷺ. All ‘ālims and ṣaḥābahs are connected to our Holy Prophet ﷺ. They went on his ﷺ way and showed his ﷺ way. Whomever you follow, you will reach guidance - says our Holy Prophet ṣallá Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam. If those who come after them walk on their way, it is perfect. But when they don't like them and go to other ways, they go astray.

Therefore, awliyā’ and mashāyikh who have the right connection to our Holy Prophet ﷺ kept on this way after ṣaḥābahs. They have reached to this day. But there is a lot of fitnah nowadays. They say there is no need for it. They say there is not such a thing. Therefore, people are confused and running after things out of the religion, or avoid sunnah and wājib. There are many people who listen to them, whereas the way of our Holy Prophet ṣallá Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam is

everlasting. It lasts until Judgment day. And that is ṭarīqahs. Because ṭarīqahs are connected directly to our Holy Prophet ﷺ. From Shaykh to Shaykh, they go up to our Holy Prophet ṣallá Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam. There are 41 ṭarīqahs. All of them are connected to our Holy Prophet ṣallá Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam. Their way is never wrong.

But of course, there are, mutamashyikh. Numerous people with no relation to ṭarīqah claim to be shaykh. They are more than the true ones. And people are cheated by them, because they don't know. What can you say? People favoured by Allāh ﷻ find the true one. When they are not destined, they find the one who is not real. Who are the true ones? Their attributes are clear. The first one is they are on the way of our Holy Prophet ṣallá Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam and show the highest respect to him ﷺ. And then they love his ﷺ four khalīfahs, ṣaḥābahs, Ahlu l-Bayt and all of them.

People say they are in ṭarīqah now but they don't accept ṣaḥābahs. They accept some of them and don't accept others. They are the ones who are not true. They want to conform to people’s desires. They think if they do so, they will gather more Murids, more people. But when they join their way, they have no connection anyways. There will not be any connection at all. People bring more harm than benefit then. May Allāh ﷻ protect us. May Allāh ﷻ not separate us from the right way. May He ﷻ let all of us meet the right people, in shā’a Llāh.
