Listen to Your Conscience
As-Salāmu ‘Alaykum wa Raḥmatullāhi wa Barakātuh. A‘ūdhu Billāhi Minash-shayṭāni r-rajīm. Bismillāhi r-Raḥmāni r-Raḥīm. Wa ṣ-Salātu wa s-Salāmu ‘alá Rasūlinā Muḥammadin Sayyidi l-Awwalīna wa l-Akhirīn. Madad yā RasūlAllāh, Madad yā Sādāti Aṣḥābi Rasūlillāh, Madad yā Mashāyikhinā, Dastūr Mawlana Sheikh Abdullāh al-Fā’iz ad-Dāghistāni, Sheikh Muḥammad Nāẓim al-Ḥaqqānī. Madad. Ṭarīqatunā aṣ-Suḥbah wa l-Khayru fi l-Jam‘iyyah.
Bismi Llāhi r-Raḥmāni r-Raḥīm: ‘ ’, ‘Wa Laqad Karramnā
Banī ‘Ādam, ‘And We have certainly honored the children of Adam.’ (Qur’ān 17:70). Ṣadaqa Llāhu l-‘aẓīm. Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla created mankind as the superior creatures. He ﷻ has favoured them. In order for them to do all kinds of goodness, He ﷻ sent them Prophets. And He ﷻ told them what to do.
When mankind is created by Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla, there is the soul. No one knows the soul apart from Allāh ﷻ. What is the soul? It is in the presence of Allāh. ‘ ’, ‘Quli r-Rūĥu Min 'Amri Rabbī’, ‘The soul is by command of my Lord.’ (Qur’ān 17:85). "I know about the soul. A soul is like this and like that." Don't listen to people who say so. Don't go near them. It means they will confuse you and weaken your īmān. Therefore, don't go near the people who talk about these matters. People who talk about that matter - There are some matters like flood, this and that. You may talk about them. But do not approach someone who goes beyond that. Run away from him.
Also, Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla created the ego inside people. Against the ego, Allāh ﷻ created conscience and mercy. Conscientious people don't obey their egos. Certainly, the ego can go on any way. It can go to the good and to the bad. But conscience is the good side of people. It shows the good things and makes you do good things.
People who believe in Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla have true conscience and mercy. They are found in people with īmān. Sometimes other people have them too. But more often... Because conscience comes with the fear of Allāh ﷻ. People who have conscience, conscientious people fear from Allāh ﷻ. "Is what I've done good or bad? Is what I've done to this person according to conscience? What will happen if I harm him?" Conscience stops them and says "Beware of doing
shamelessness. Don't be merciless. Don't cheat this person. Don't oppress him. Don't slander him. Don't be remorseless to these people or animals, whoever or whatever they are. Help them. If you can't help, don't harm them." Conscience prevents people from badness.
As we said, when there is conscience sometimes the ego gets used to being merciful step by step on the right way. And conscience is the side of people which guards ṭarīqah and Islām. Therefore, sometimes there are rare people with no īmān. Certainly, Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla created everyone. Following that conscience, eventually they reach guidance. Many people with conscience see the truth and accept the truth. They certainly reach guidance in the end, and join the way of Allāh ﷻ.
Therefore, to be conscientious is a great goodness for people. It is a great virtue. Conscientious people are are also beloved people around others. They are shown respect. Otherwise, they say this man is merciless, shameless and impertinent; people run away from him. They run away from that man as he follows his ego and shayṭān.
Therefore, these beautiful things raise the person. They raise the reputation of the person. He becomes loved in the sight Allāh ﷻ. When Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla loves him, everyone will honor and love him. Otherwise, no one likes the person who is disliked by Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla. Of course, they may love him for personal benefit, or they appear so. Otherwise, no one will respect him. There are many people like this in this world. Many people think other people love them. They are wealthy and rich. But actually, people respect their wealth, not them. They don't respect them. If they don't have money, no one respects them. No one even looks at them. May Allāh ﷻ protect us. May Allāh ﷻ put us with good ones on a good way and make us from beloved servants, in shā’a Llāh.
Wa min Allah at-Tawfiq. Al-Fatiha.
