Wealth is Making Them a Pharaoh

As-Salāmu ‘Alaykum wa RaḥmatuLlāhi wa Barakātuh. A‘ūdhu BiLlāhi Minash-shayṭāni r-rajīm. BismiLlāhi r-Raḥmāni r-Raḥīm. Wa ṣ-Salātu wa s-Salāmu ‘alá Rasūlinā Muḥammadin Sayyidi l-Awwalīna wa l-Akhirīn. Madad yā RasūlAllāh, Madad yā Sādāti Aṣḥābi RasūliLlāh, Madad yā Mashāyikhinā, Dastūr Mawlana Sheikh Abdullāh al-Fā’iz ad-Dāghistāni, Sheikh Muḥammad Nāẓim al- Ḥaqqānī. Madad. Ṭarīqatunā aṣ-Suḥbah wa l-Khayru fi l-Jam‘iyyah.

Wealthiness is sometimes good for people, and sometimes bad. Some people think highly of themselves when they have a lot of money. They don’t like others and act arrogantly. They don’t accept the truth. They strive to do things according to their own minds. Why do they do so? The egos of people are like Pharaoh. The ego has a claim to be god. Accordingly, whenever it has a bit of power - Money is always power. Gold is power. Therefore, silly people think highly of themselves when they have it.

It has been like this since old times. It is not a new thing. Allah ‘Azza wa-Jalla created people like this. He ﷻ created the ego and shaytan as well. Those who follow them claim to be gods when they have something. It is the same in the present time. It is even worse. There is money and power, and they want to rule over the world now. Also, Allah ‘Azza wa-Jalla has given a bit of knowledge. They think that knowledge is so great. But it is not even a particle next to the Magnificence of Allah ‘Azza wa-Jalla. It is a mistake to even compare it to a particle.

What did Pharaoh say? Pharaoh said, “I am your biggest god. Ana Rabbukum l’A’la (Qur’an 79:24). I am your highest god.” There is always a Pharaoh in every time. It is the same in the present time as well. It goes on. But by the wisdom of Allah ﷻ, they are disliked people, because they are enemies of Allah ﷻ. People detest the enemies of Allah ﷻ. Even though they stay close to them for personal benefit, they don’t have a bit of love to those people in their hearts. Those people live in this world for a couple of days, and then they pass away just like Pharaoh. Therefore, it is not a clever thing to be cheated by wealth and properties.

People who have money and give it on the way of Allah ﷻ are beloved people, because Allah ﷻ loves generous ones. Allah ‘Azza wa-Jalla loves those who give when He ﷻ gives to them. And they don’t make such claims, because they know in their hearts that Allah ‘Azza wa-Jalla is the Possessor of all wealth and properties. If He ﷻ made us the means and gave it to us to be in service, that is a great luck and a great happiness.

This world is not long. Even if you own this world, you will leave it anyway. Therefore, clever people should give things ordered and granted to you by Allah ﷻ on the way of Allah ﷻ. They should be on the way of Allah ﷻ. May Allah ﷻ let all of us spend these favors on the way of Allah ﷻ. We will be from the beloved people of Allah ‘Azza wa-Jalla. May Allah ﷻ be pleased with you.
