O Religion Students, Beware!

As-Salāmu ‘Alaykum wa RaḥmatuLlāhi wa Barakātuh. A‘ūdhu BiLlāhi Minash-shayṭāni r-rajīm. BismiLlāhi r-Raḥmāni r-Raḥīm. Wa ṣ-Salātu wa s-Salāmu ‘alá Rasūlinā Muḥammadin Sayyidi l-Awwalīna wa l-Akhirīn. Madad yā RasūlAllāh, Madad yā Sādāti Aṣḥābi RasūliLlāh, Madad yā Mashāyikhinā, Dastūr Mawlana Sheikh Abdullāh al-Fā’iz ad-Dāghistāni, Sheikh Muḥammad Nāẓim al- Ḥaqqānī. Madad. Ṭarīqatunā aṣ-Suḥbah wa l-Khayru fi l-Jam‘iyyah.

The words of our Holy Prophet ṣallá Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam are Hadiths. Hadiths and Qur’an are the base of Islam. People of the end of times say there are no Hadiths. They say they have studied Islam themselves. But by the wisdom of Allah ﷻ, the more they study, the more they go away from Islam, they go away from Iman. Who goes away from Iman goes away from Islam.

They are afflicted with arrogance. And arrogance is the attribute of shaytan. Shaytan doesn’t like anything. He says, “I am the most superior. What is mankind? They are made of mud. I am made of fire, I am better”. Arrogant ones become like shaytan. They want to take out something, whereas you have studied and spent so many years. Most of those who study now don’t understand anything anyway. They strive to get a diploma. And very few understand indeed. Very few people understand what they study. On the other hand, there are those who study religion. May Allah ﷻ protect us. Had they not studied, perhaps their Iman would be stronger. As they study, they are given various thoughts, and shaytan attacks more. He boosts their arrogance to finish their Iman.

Regarding this matter, you see great scholars, and you get astonished. A crazy scholar said the other day, “Some Hadiths say there is nothing special in Rajab.” Those Hadiths are not Sahih. Not Sahih (authentic) in terms of truth. But as a term, Sahih Hadith means a strong Hadith. He goes on later, “There is this Hadith and that Hadith. But they are not strong.” This means there exists such Hadiths. But you have to say in the beginning not to mislead people that those Hadiths are not Sahih. Sahih means true in Arabic. There are true Hadiths, but as not many Sahabahs narrated them, they are not counted as strong. But there are such Hadiths. They are not inexistent, they do exist. They are Mawḍūʻ Hadiths which are fabricated later. There are many such Hadiths fabricated by Israeli Jews after our Holy Prophet ﷺ. Scholars of Hadiths cleaned them out. Sayyidina Bukhari, Muslim, Tirmidhi; there are many scholars of Hadiths. They filtered out all of the Hadiths which are not true and not told by our Holy Prophet ﷺ. They are not inexistent. All of them are there. How dare you ruin people’s belief just to say something? This world is short anyway. Will it be harmful to you if they worship more?

This is the situation now. From scholars to those who study Theology, who study at Imam Hatip schools, they must be careful. We must say it straight. They should not believe what others say. They should learn what they study for the pleasure of Allah ﷻ. For people who learn for the pleasure of Allah ﷻ, Allah ﷻ guarantees their Rizq. Beware of selling your Akhirah for Dunya to earn money with others’ words. Akhirah is eternal, and Dunya will be gone in the blink of an eye.

This is very important, because people think, “They are scholars. We should follow them”, and oftentimes they quit doing good things they do. May Allah ﷻ protect us from Fitnah of the end of times. As we said, shaytan strikes at the heart. And the heart is the scholars. Therefore, those scholars must be careful. They must be very careful as they have a greater punishment. Ignorant people, or those who don’t know - of course everyone should learn, but not everyone can learn everything. Muslims must learn the basis. But those who study must learn well to be the means of guidance for others. If they mislead others, they will get punishment for every person they misled. And the more people reach guidance through them, the more rewards they get. May Allah ﷻ protect us from the evil of shaytan and from Fitnah of the end of times insha’Allah.
