Hadith Lesson: On Our Prophet’s ﷺ Virtues and Prayer

As-Salāmu ‘Alaykum wa RaḥmatuLlāhi wa Barakātuh. A‘ūdhu BiLlāhi Minash-shayṭāni r-rajīm. BismiLlāhi r-Raḥmāni r-Raḥīm. Wa ṣ-Salātu wa s-Salāmu ‘alá Rasūlinā Muḥammadin Sayyidi l-Awwalīna wa l-Akhirīn. Madad yā RasūlAllāh, Madad yā Sādāti Aṣḥābi RasūliLlāh, Madad yā Mashāyikhinā, Dastūr Mawlana Sheikh Abdullāh al-Fā’iz ad-Dāghistāni, Sheikh Muḥammad Nāẓim al-Ḥaqqānī. Madad.

1Qala RasuluLlah salla Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam The Messenger of Allāh ﷻ (peace be upon him ﷺ) says:

Our Holy Prophet ﷺ is saying, “Perform worship in the barns of sheep and wipe off things that disturb them for they are from the animals of paradise.”

2Qala RasuluLlah salla Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam The Messenger of Allāh ﷻ (peace be upon him ﷺ) says:

Our Holy Prophet ﷺ is saying again, “Sheep are from the animals of paradise. Wipe off the soil and things disturbing them. And perform worship in their barn.” They should be looked after well. And there is no problem to pray in the barn. It means sheep are among the animals of paradise. They are blessed animals.

3Qala RasuluLlah salla Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam The Messenger of Allāh ﷻ (peace be upon him ﷺ) says:

Our Holy Prophet ﷺ is saying, “I have been given superiority over the other prophets in six respects.” Our Holy Prophet ṣallá Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam has superiority over other Prophets in many things. But he ﷺ is mentioning six things here.

1-, “I have been given words which are concise but comprehensive in meaning.” The Hadiths of our Holy Prophet ﷺ are short, but thousands of volumes are written about them. People extract wisdom from them. They extract insight and everything. Allah ‘Azza waJalla granted concision to our Holy Prophet ﷺ.

2- “I have been helped by terror (in the hearts of enemies).” When our Holy Prophet ﷺ was about to go to a battle, fear was put in the hearts of the enemies before he ﷺ went out. They were demoralized and down even before he ﷺ reached them. Then, Allah ‘Azza wa-Jalla gave victory to our Holy Prophet ﷺ.

3- “Spoils have been made lawful to me among other nations.” Spoilts were prohibited before our Holy Prophet ﷺ. It was gathered and put in one place. The loot was put in center in the open space after the battle, and fire would come from the sky and burn it. They didn’t benefit from it. But it is made Halal to our Holy Prophet ﷺ and his ﷺ Ummah..

4- “The earth has been made for me clean and a place of worship.” For the honor of our Holy Prophet ﷺ, the earth is made both a Masjid and clean. It was not so before. For the honor of our Holy Prophet ﷺ, soil was made clean to suit his ﷺ light and glory. Making Tayammum or using soil elsewhere were not counted as clean before. But in the time of our Holy Prophet ﷺ, he ﷺ was given this specialty. If they rubbed their hands with soil before him ﷺ, they weren’t clean. Through the specialty given to our Holy Prophet ﷺ, soil makes them clean. From all aspects, soil is clean for both ablution and Ghusl wherever there is no water. It can be used.

5- “I am sent to all of humanity.” Previous Prophets were, “Wa li-Kulli Qawmin Haad”, “And for every people is a guide.” (Qur’an 13:07). Different Prophets were sent to different nations, not one to all. Wherever one was ordered, he went there. “Go to this city, and invite people there to your religion. Go to another village and town.” They were assigned like this and went on accordingly. But our Holy Prophet ṣallá

Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam is not like that. He ﷺ is for everyone. He ﷺ was sent as guidance to the whole world in all, both to people and Jinns until Qiyamah.

6- “And the line of prophets is closed with me.” As there is no Prophet after our Holy Prophet ﷺ, this sixth specialty is given to our Holy Prophet ﷺ.

4Qala RasuluLlah salla Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam The Messenger of Allāh ﷻ (peace be upon him ﷺ) says:

1Our Holy Prophet ﷺ is saying, “I am made superior over other Prophets in five things. I am sent as the Prophet to all of humanity.” He ﷺ is sent to all people entirely. Other Prophets, as we said, were sent to some territories, some countries and some nations. Our Holy Prophet ﷺ was sent as the Prophet to all people, to all countries, cities, villages up until Qiyamah. Whoever believes him ﷺ is lucky, and whoever doesn’t believe him ﷺ is unfortunate.

2- “I’ve kept my intercession for my Ummah.” If our Holy Prophet ﷺ wanted, he ﷺ could use his ﷺ intercession in this world. But our Holy Prophet ﷺ is saving his ﷺ intercession for Qiyamah in order to save his ﷺ Ummah from hell. Allah ﷻ also gave this specialty to our Holy Prophet ṣallá Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam. He ﷺ is given permission to keep it until Qiyamah.

3- “I am given help to put fear into hearts of my enemies from the distance of a month ahead of me and the distance of a month behind me.” Enemies who came in front of him and those who wanted to attack from behind were afraid. They had fear in their hearts and couldn’t come close. It was from the distance of a month. And a distance of one month is like from here (Istanbul) till Adana, or maybe even further.

4- “The earth is made Masjid and clean to me.” For the honor and Barakah of our Holy Prophet ṣallá Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam, this world is made Masjid and clean. People before our Holy Prophet ﷺ had to pray in designated Masjids. They had places like Masjids or mosques where they had to perform their worship. But for our Holy Prophet ﷺ the whole world is a Masjid.

5- “Spoilt is made Halal to me. It was not Halal to anyone before me.” Similarly, for the honor of our Holy Prophet’s ﷺ face, it was made Halal to be used by the Ummah of our Holy Prophet ﷺ.

5Qala RasuluLlah salla Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam The Messenger of Allāh ﷻ (peace be upon him ﷺ) says:

1Our Holy Prophet ﷺ is saying, “I am made superior over other Prophets in four things. The earth is made clean and Masjid to me. Whenever someone from my Ummah wants to pray and cannot find a place to pray, he may find earth and soil as a clean Masjid.” He may both pray on earth and make Tayammum with it if he needs to renew his ablution.

2- “I am sent as a Prophet to all people.” Our Holy Prophet ﷺ is sent to all people and Jinns. Don’t say, “I didn’t know”. Everyone knows about his ﷺ prophethood.

3- “I am given help to cause fear to my enemies from the distance of two months.”

4- “And treasure loot is made Halal to me.”

6Qala RasuluLlah salla Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam The Messenger of Allāh ﷻ (peace be upon him ﷺ) says:

1Our Holy Prophet ﷺ is saying, “I am made superior over other Prophets in four things. Me and my Ummah stand up for a prayer just like angels stand in a row.” Angels stand in a row, as mentioned in Mawlid. And when we stand up to pray, it is similar to them. When we stand straight in a row, it is similar to that of angels. Others didn’t have this.

2- “Soil is made a cleanser to me.”

3- “Earth is made Masjid and clean to me.”

4- “And loot is made Halal to me.”

7Qala RasuluLlah salla Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam The Messenger of Allāh ﷻ (peace be upon him ﷺ) says:

Our Holy Prophet ﷺ is saying, “There are seven places where it is not permissible to perform the prayer: The top of the House of Allah (the roof of Ka’bah); graveyards; garbage dumps; slaughterhouses; bathrooms; the area that camels rest, and the main road.”

8Qala RasuluLlah salla Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam The Messenger of Allāh ﷻ (peace be upon him ﷺ) says:

Our Holy Prophet ﷺ is saying, “Pray in sheep-folds, but not where camels kneel to drink (the places where camels rest.)” Both are blessed

animals. But by the wisdom of Allah ﷻ, sheep’s place is clean. And you cannot pray in the place of camels, says our Holy Prophet ﷺ.

9Qala RasuluLlah salla Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam The Messenger of Allāh ﷻ (peace be upon him ﷺ) says:

Our Holy Prophet ﷺ is saying, “Perform prayer in the sheep's restingplaces and do not perform prayer in the camels' resting-places, for they were created from the devils.” Our Holy Prophet ṣallá Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam tells to pray in the sheep barns. But camels are created from shaytan by the wisdom of Allah ﷻ. He ﷺ tells not to pray in their places. You may be cursed.

10-Qala RasuluLlah salla Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam The Messenger of Allāh ﷻ (peace be upon him ﷺ) says:

Our Holy Prophet ﷺ is saying, “Pray in the sheep barns. But as you drink their milk, do not take ablution with it.” If you cannot find water, do not make ablution with sheep’s milk. If you have milk, our Holy Prophet ﷺ says it is not permitted. “Do not pray in camel’s resting places. But because you drink its milk, take ablution with it.” It is not accepted to pray in the place where camel rests. But it is permissible to take ablution with its milk. It is the wisdom of Allah ﷻ.

Everything has wisdom in it. All words of our Holy Prophet ṣallá Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam have millions of wisdom. And Allah ﷻ knows their wisdom.

11-Qala RasuluLlah salla Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam The Messenger of Allāh ﷻ (peace be upon him ﷺ) says:

Our Holy Prophet ﷺ is saying, “RasuluLlah has forbidden praying facing the grave.” If you are in a graveyard, it is alright to pray if there is open place. But you have to put something in front of you when you face a grave to make it acceptable.

Sadaqa RasuluLlah fi ma qal, aw kama qal. The Messenger of Allāh ﷻ says the truth in what he ﷺ said or as he ﷺ said.

Ziyadatan ila sharafi’ ‘n-Nabi, sallaLlahu `alayhi wa sallam wa Alihi wa Asahabihi l-kiram, wa ila arwahi jamee’i al Anbiya’i wa l-Mursalin wa Khudama’i sharai’ihim wa ila arwahi al ‘Aimmati al arba’a, wa ila arwahi Mashayyikhina fi tTariqati n-Naqshbandiyyati l-Aliyyah, khassatan Imamu t-Tariqah wa Ghawthu lKhaliqah Khwaja Bahauddin Muhammad al-Uwaisiyi l-Bukhari, Sayyidina Abdul Khaliq al Ghujduwani, Mawlana Shaykh Sharafuddin al Daghestani, Mawlana Shaykh Abdullah al Faiz al Daghestani, Mawlana Shaykh Muhammad Nazim Adil al Haqqani, wa sai’ri Sadatina wa s-Siddiqiyun, wa man nahnu fi hadratihim wa jiwarihim, to all our passed ones, to the souls of all Shaheeds. Li-Llahi Ta’ala, AlFatiha.

(Translation) To the honor of the Prophet, Prayers and Peace be upon Him, and his family, and his companions, and the souls of all the prophets as well as of His messengers and of those who served their Sharia, and to the souls of the four Imams. And to the souls of our Mashayikh of the Most Distinguished Naqshbandi Tariqa, in particular to the soul of the Imam of the Tariqa Ghawth al-Khaliqa (the Help of Creation), Khwaja Bahauddin Muhammad al-Uwaisiyi l-Bukhari, Sayyidina Abdul Khaliq al Ghujduwani, Mawlana Shaykh Sharafuddin al Daghestani, Mawlana Shaykh Abdullah al Faiz al Daghestani, Mawlana Shaykh Muhammad Nazim Adil al Haqqani, and the rest of our masters and Siddiqiyun, and to whom we are in their presence and near them, to all our passed ones, to the souls of all Shaheeds. To Allah Almighty, Al-Fatiha.
