Abstain from What He ﷺ Forbade

As-Salāmu ‘Alaykum wa RaḥmatuLlāhi wa Barakātuh. A‘ūdhu BiLlāhi Minash-shayṭāni r-rajīm. BismiLlāhi r-Raḥmāni r-Raḥīm. Wa ṣ-Salātu wa s-Salāmu ‘alá Rasūlinā Muḥammadin Sayyidi l-Awwalīna wa l-Akhirīn. Madad yā RasūlAllāh, Madad yā Sādāti Aṣḥābi RasūliLlāh, Madad yā Mashāyikhinā, Dastūr Mawlana Sheikh Abdullāh al-Fā’iz ad-Dāghistāni, Sheikh Muḥammad Nāẓim al- Ḥaqqānī. Madad. Ṭarīqatunā aṣ-Suḥbah wa l-Khayru fi l-Jam‘iyyah.

A‘ūdhu biLlāhi mina sh-shayṭāni r-rajīm. Bismi Llāhi r-Raḥmāni r-Raḥīm:

“Wa Mā 'Ātākumu Ar-Rasūlu Fakhudhūhu Wa Mā Nahākum `Anhu Fāntahū”, “And whatever the Messenger has given you - take; and what he has forbidden you - refrain from.” (Qur’an 59:07). Ṣadaqa Llāhu l-‘Aẓīm. Allah ‘Azza wa-Jalla is saying, “Do whatever our Holy Prophet ṣallá Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam has brought you.” What he ﷺ brought are His ﷻ orders. Whatever the orders of Allah ﷻ are, obey them. And stay away from what is forbidden and not wanted, says our Holy Prophet ṣallá Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam.

Why is he ﷺ saying this? He ﷺ is saying this for benefit of people. Our Holy Prophet ﷺ is saying these things for their benefit, not harm. The orders are like this. Whoever obeys these orders will attain all kinds of goodness. He gets the pleasure of Allah ﷻ, earns Thawab, and his rank is increased. Also from the worldly perspective, he will have good health and physical strength.

There are many things that are forbidden. Sins are Haram. But people nowadays don’t comprehend this well. There are certain Haram things that if you repent for them, Allah ﷻ forgives you, and they will be gone. But there are some Haram things that many people don’t know if they are Haram or not. They will remain on them and will not go away. If you repent, maybe it will be accepted. May Allah ﷻ accept it. He ﷻ will, Allah ﷻ forgives everything.

And what is that? That is the tattoo. Tattoos are Haram. Making a tattoo is Haram. Youngsters like it, and everyone is making it. They think it is a nice thing. It is not a nice thing. It is ugly. People make it on their bodies. It is harmful for sure. The biggest harm is that it is a sin. It is a sin in the sight of Allah ﷻ. If you repent, Allah ‘Azza wa-Jalla will forgive you. But people have illness wherever they make it on their bodies. They can’t get rid of it. And when they die, it will go with them. May Allah ﷻ protect, may they not have it on them on Judgment day.

We must be careful about it. It is not a Halal thing. It is not a permissible thing. It is a sin. As it is the sin, it must be harmful as it is forbidden. Everything like drinking alcohol, pork and this and that is prohibited because they are harmful. Allah ﷻ made them sins as they are harmful. Both are equal. Therefore, we must be careful. We must stay away from such things.

The things that are beneficial from all aspects is to walk on the way of our Holy Prophet ﷺ, to follow his ﷺ Sunnah, to do the good things that he ﷺ did and to stay away from the things that he ﷺ forbade. May Allah ﷻ make us successful in this insha’Allah. May people not be cheated. People are cheated by their egos. They are cheated by friends and this and that. As they see it everywhere, they want to do the same. And then they cannot get rid of it in any way. May Allah ﷻ protect us from their evil and sins. May we always be on His ﷻ way insha’Allah.

Wa min Allah at-Tawfiq. Al-Fatiha.
