Hadith Lesson: On Our Prophet’s ﷺ Virtues and Prayer
As-Salāmu ‘Alaykum wa RaḥmatuLlāhi wa Barakātuh. A‘ūdhu BiLlāhi Minash-shayṭāni r-rajīm. BismiLlāhi r-Raḥmāni r-Raḥīm. Wa ṣ-Salātu wa s-Salāmu ‘alá Rasūlinā Muḥammadin Sayyidi l-Awwalīna wa l-Akhirīn. Madad yā RasūlAllāh, Madad yā Sādāti Aṣḥābi RasūliLlāh, Madad yā Mashāyikhinā, Dastūr Mawlana Sheikh Abdullāh al-Fā’iz ad-Dāghistāni, Sheikh Muḥammad Nāẓim al-Ḥaqqānī. Madad.
1Qala RasuluLlah salla Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam The Messenger of Allāh ﷻ (peace be upon him ﷺ) says:
Our Holy Prophet ﷺ is saying, “There is no prayer after the Fajr until the sun has risen, there is no prayer after the ‘Asr until the sun has set.” It is Waqt al-Karahah (prohibited times of prayer). Nafl prayers and making up the Fard prayers can be performed after that time.
2Qala RasuluLlah salla Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam The Messenger of Allāh ﷻ (peace be upon him ﷺ) says:
Our Holy Prophet ﷺ is saying, “I have been given five specialties which were not given to anyone else before me [from prophets].” These five specialties of our Holy Prophet ṣallá Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam were not given before to other Prophets. They are special for the Ummah of our Holy Prophet ṣallá Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam. They are given for his ﷺ sake.
1- “Allah made me victorious by awe (of frightening my enemies) for a distance of one month’s journey.” When our Holy Prophet ﷺ went for war, for Jihad - distance of a month means: in old times, walking for a month was a great distance. People against him ﷺ would have fear in their hearts. No matter if they knew or didn’t know our Holy Prophet ﷺ, that fear would enter their hearts and was the means for their defeat.
2- “The earth has been made for me a place for praying and something with which to perform Tayammum (to purify oneself for prayer).” That is both for Tayammum and for praying for our Holy Prophet ﷺ. Before him ﷺ, there was no Tayammum. They had to make ablution. And places were assigned for prayer. They couldn’t pray everywhere. This is also an easiness for the Ummah of our Holy Prophet ﷺ. “Therefore, anyone (of my Ummah) can pray (anywhere) and at any time that the Salat (prayer) is due.” When it’s time to pray, you should make ablution if there is water, and pray anywhere; on the way or in a desert. You should pray wherever you are. If you can’t find water, you make Tayammum and pray. You should not miss the time. There is no need to look for a Masjid or mosque. You can pray everywhere.
3- “The booty has been made Halal (lawful) for me yet it was not lawful for anyone else before me.” When there was a battle or war, when there was Jihad, wealth of the defeated people were collected and put forth. But by the wisdom of Allah ﷻ, fire would come down from the sky and burn it. It was not used. But it is Halal for our Holy Prophet ṣallá Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam. And booty was distributed to warriors, poor ones and everyone to use.
4- “I have been given the right of intercession.” Our Holy Prophet ṣallá Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam has the permission for intercession.
5- “Every Prophet used to be sent to his nation only but I have been sent to all mankind.” Our Holy Prophet ﷺ has intercession for his ﷺ Ummah. Sayyidina ‘Isa doesn’t have it. Sayyidina Musa doesn’t have it. Sayyidina Ibrahim doesn’t have it. None of them have the intercession. Therefore, everyone will ask for intercession from our Holy Prophet ṣallá Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam on Judgment Day. When the day comes, every Prophet will go to another; “You go to Nuh. You go to Ibrahim. You go to Ismail. You go to Musa ‘alayhi s-salam.” All of them will eventually go to our Holy Prophet ﷺ for intercession. He ﷺ will intercede for them. Others don’t have that chance.
Also, every Prophet was sent to their nations. There are 124,000 Prophets. Prophets had gone all over the world, not only here. Certainly, there are Prophets who come from Nuh ‘alayhi s-salam and then Ibrahim ‘alayhi s-salam. But those who came from Ibrahim ‘alayhi s-salam; Bani Israil, or Ismail ‘alayhi s-salam, or those who came from Yaqub and Is’haq ‘alayhi s-salam; they are the most known ones. But Prophets were all over the world. In South Africa, South America, above and below them, in Asia; Allah ‘Azza wa-Jalla sent Prophets to nations everywhere. Of course, their books were altered and then forgotten. Most of them were killed. People who followed them and those after them were spoilt later with time. And then they came up with Buddha, and I don’t know what. All of them are taken from the true source but they spoilt them afterwards.
It must be known that Prophets did not only come from the sons of Israil or Arabs. They came everywhere. But of course, the lineage of our Holy Prophet ﷺ is a different wing, and the rest is a different wing. But these are known apparently. And there are many who are not known.
Our Holy Prophet ﷺ was sent to all humanity. They were sent to their nations, but our Holy Prophet ṣallá Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam was sent to all of humanity. Therefore, all humanity must accept our Holy Prophet ﷺ. Those who don’t accept him ﷺ will neither attain his ﷺ intercession, nor earn anything in Akhirah.
3Qala RasuluLlah salla Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam The Messenger of Allāh ﷻ (peace be upon him ﷺ) says:
Our Holy Prophet ﷺ is saying, “The earth has been made for me (and for my followers) a place for praying and a thing to perform Tayammum.” Soil and rocks are clean. As long as there is no dirt on them, everywhere is clean.
4Qala RasuluLlah salla Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam The Messenger of Allāh ﷻ (peace be upon him ﷺ) says:
Our Holy Prophet ﷺ is saying, “And the earth has been made sacred and pure and mosque for me and a means for purification.” And for ablution, says our Holy Prophet ṣallá Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam.
5Qala RasuluLlah salla Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam The Messenger of Allāh ﷻ (peace be upon him ﷺ) says:
Our Holy Prophet ﷺ is saying, “Treat goats well. Wipe off the soil and things that disturb it (dust/mucus). And perform worship in its barns, because they are the animals of paradise.” He ﷺ tells us not to harm goats.
Nowadays, whatever Allah ﷻ grants, permits and loves is the enemy of shaytan. Mawlana Shaykh Nazim said years ago not to harm goats. Why? Because they are Barakah. Millions of people were living on their supplies. A traitor came out, Allah ﷻ knows where he got his order from, and they finished them all at once. They said goats are finishing the forests. And the forests which goats would eat in a hundred years were eaten by fire in a year. Barakah was gone then. Shepherds lost their jobs. The harm they did is uncountable, whereas our Holy Prophet ṣallá Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam says, “Take care of goats and clean them.” He ﷺ even says to pray in their barns. Their barns are not Najasah (unclean). As long as they are dry, they are not considered as Najasah. Our Holy Prophet ṣallá Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam is the benefit, mercy and goodness to all humanity.
6Qala RasuluLlah salla Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam The Messenger of Allāh ﷻ (peace be upon him ﷺ) says:
Our Holy Prophet ﷺ is saying, “The whole earth is a mosque where you can pray, with the exception of a graveyard and a toilet.” You can’t pray in a graveyard, because there are dead ones. And there may be dirt and everything in Hammam. Therefore, he ﷺ tells us not to pray there. It’s not permissible to pray there.
Sadaqa RasuluLlah fi ma qal, aw kama qal. The Messenger of Allāh ﷻ says the truth in what he ﷺ said or as he ﷺ said.
