New Year, New Rizq

As-Salāmu ‘Alaykum wa RaḥmatuLlāhi wa Barakātuh. A‘ūdhu BiLlāhi Minash-shayṭāni r-rajīm. BismiLlāhi r-Raḥmāni r-Raḥīm. Wa ṣ-Salātu wa s-Salāmu ‘alá Rasūlinā Muḥammadin Sayyidi l-Awwalīna wa l-Akhirīn. Madad yā RasūlAllāh, Madad yā Sādāti Aṣḥābi RasūliLlāh, Madad yā Mashāyikhinā, Dastūr Mawlana Sheikh Abdullāh al-Fā’iz ad-Dāghistāni, Sheikh Muḥammad Nāẓim al- Ḥaqqānī. Madad. Ṭarīqatunā aṣ-Suḥbah wa l-Khayru fi l-Jam‘iyyah.

Aūdhu biLlāhi mina sh-shayṭāni r-rajīm. Bismi Llāhi r-Raḥmāni r-Raḥīm:

“Aqtaraba Lilnnāsi Ĥisābuhum Wa Hum Fī Ghaflatin Mu`riđūn”, “[The time of] their account has approached for the people, while they are in heedlessness turning away.” (Qur’ān 21:01). Sadaqa Llāhu l-‘Aẓīm.

Allah ‘Azza wa-Jalla is saying the day of reckoning for people is approaching but people are heedless. Days are passing, and another year is over. Last night, not the Hijri year but the year of calculation was over. It is the official year for dates, days and seasons. This year insha’Allah will be a good year for Muslims, for us. We will live with Iman insha’Allah, and be steadfast.

What do they say? The day of reckoning is approaching. Another year from our lifetime is gone. Insha’Allah it is not gone in vain. That is what’s important. Otherwise, what will you celebrate? You should celebrate that you spent this year in praying and obeying the orders of Allah ﷻ. You should celebrate in hopes that it didn’t go in vain insha’Allah, not like the heedless people celebrate it. They assume that a new life will be written for them. They think more life will be given to them and they will live longer with the new year. We cannot understand their logic anyhow. May Allah ﷻ give mind and understanding to people. May people wake up from heedlessness. Some people wake up only when they die. Sayyidina ‘Ali said people are heedless and in deep sleep. When will they wake up? They will wake up when they go down to the grave, when they die. May Allah ﷻ not make us from them.

Mawlana Shaykh Nazim used to say every day, “Yawmun Jadeed, Rizqun Jadeed.” - New day, new Rizq. Rizq is both apparent and hidden, both physical and spiritual. May Allah ﷻ give us from both insha’Allah. As Mawlana Shaykh Nazim said, in the new year there is new Rizq. May the hidden and apparent spiritual Rizq increase in the new year. May it not be little. With the new year we are closer to Qiyamah and we are closer to Mahdi ‘alayhi s-salam insha’Allah.

Because as years pass - 10-20 years ago, people could not guess this world would become like this. They thought it’d go smooth and straight with everyone and countries busy with their work. No, there is nothing like that. Shaytan won’t let go. And it is the Sunnah of Allah ﷻ, this world is not a place of comfort, it is a place of test. May we have no test, may we have beneficence. We are not the servants of test but the servants of beneficence. May Allah ﷻ always make us steadfast. May we be on the way of truth, with the truth insha’Allah. We ask that Allah ﷻ makes the new year good and blessed. May every day be good and blessed insha’Allah, because we don’t realize how days are passing. And life is passing by without people realizing it. May Allah ﷻ bless our year. May Allah ﷻ not separate us from His ﷻ way insha’Allah. May we not be heedless insha’Allah.
