The Night of Barā’ah

As-Salāmu ‘Alaykum wa Raḥmatullāhi wa Barakātuh. A‘ūdhu Billāhi Minash-shayṭāni r-rajīm. Bismillāhi r-Raḥmāni r-Raḥīm. Wa ṣ-Salātu wa s-Salāmu ‘alá Rasūlinā Muḥammadin Sayyidi l-Awwalīna wa l-Akhirīn. Madad yā RasūlAllāh, Madad yā Sādāti Aṣḥābi Rasūlillāh, Madad yā Mashāyikhinā, Dastūr Mawlana Sheikh Abdullāh al-Fā’iz ad-Dāghistāni, Sheikh Muḥammad Nāẓim al-Ḥaqqānī. Madad. Ṭarīqatunā aṣ-Suḥbah wa l-Khayru fi l-Jam‘iyyah.

AlhamduliLlah we are in Sharu Sha’ban – The month of Sha’ban. And we are nearly reaching the half of Sha’ban al Mu’azzam, the month of the Prophet salla Llahu aa’layhi wa sallam. This month is a blessed, holy month. Insha’Allah after tomorrow is the Night of Barā’ah. It is a blessed night that Allah ﷻ mentioned in the Qur’an: Bismi Llāhi r-Raḥmāni r-Raḥīm, ‘ )2) (1 ( ) 3 ( (4)’, ‘Ha, Meem. (1) By the clear Book (2) Indeed, We sent it down during a blessed night. Indeed, We were to warn [mankind] (3) On that night is made distinct every precise matter (4)’ (Qur’ān 44:01-04). This night is like the beginning of the year (not Hijri), as everything that will happen in this year is written on this night, and it will be for the next year. For this, it is important and blessed.

For this night, there is an important Wazifah/Duty. Between Maghrib and st Isha, we read 3 times Surat Yasin: 1 time [intention] for Halal Rizq/provision nd rd insha’Allah, 2 time for health and 3 time for a long life with Iman/faith and Islam. After each time you read Surat Yasin, there is a small Dua that you should read. You can make it by yourself or in the mosque. But it must be done because Allah ‘Azza wa Jalla, ‘ ’, ‘Yamhū Allahu mā yashā’u wa yuthbit, Wa ‘Indahu ‘Ummu l-Kitāb’, ‘Allah eliminates what He wills or confirms, and with Him is the Mother of the Book.’ (Qur’ān 13:39). Allah ﷻ can change what He ﷻ wants because everything is in His ﷻ Hand. For this, we read this Dua to be protected, and for Rizq, and to have every good thing for us in this next new year. They say something for the Dunya here, but this is for the spirituality; and also for Dunya because we are living here. What will happen will be written on this night; who will die, who will be born, who will come, who will go – Everything will be written on this night. And the Prophet salla Llahu aa’layhi wa sallam has given us how we can be protected and how we can get good things – with I’badah/worship and with Ta’aa you can get this.

And in this night also, who likes can pray Sunnat al Tasabih; it is 4 Rakaʿāt. The Prophet salla Llahu aa’layhi wa sallam was teaching his uncle Sayyidina AlAbbas Salatul Tasabih. He ﷺ said: “First make Takbir. Then read 15 times “SubhanaLlah, wa l-hamduliLlah, wa la ilaha illaLlah, wa Llahu Akbar” and after the last time say “Wala Hawla wala Quwwata illa biLlahi l-Aliyyi l-Azim”, then read Al Fatihah and Surat ul-Ikhlas or any other Surah, then you say again 10 times “SubhanaLlah, wa l-hamduliLlah, wa la ilaha illaLlah, wa Llahu Akbar” and after the last time say “Wala Hawla wala Quwwata illa biLlahi l-Aliyyi l-Azim”. And then you make Ruku’ and read it again 10 times. Then you stand up and read it 10 times. Then you make Sujud and read it 10 times. Then sit after first Sajdah and read it 10 times. Then make Sajdah again and read it 10 times, then get up and repeat again. In the 4 Rakaʿāt all together, you will make 300 times Tasbih. The Prophet salla Llahu aa’layhi wa sallam said about it that you should pray it at least once in your life. It has incredible reward which is enough for you for your whole life, the Prophet salla Llahu aa’layhi wa sallam said. AlhamduliLlah we can do it in this holy night. Anybody can do it anytime, but most people cannot do it. Especially in this night, Allah ﷻ rewards more and more for Salatul Tasabih, Sunnat al Tasabih.

After that, also in this night there are 100 Rakaʿāh; in the first Rakaʿāh you read 1 Fatiha and 2 Surat ul-Ikhlas, and in the second Rakaʿāh you read 1 Fatiha and 1 Surat ul-Ikhlas. You can pray these 100 Rakaʿāh by sitting or standing because this is Nafl. The Prophet salla Llahu aa’layhi wa sallam is happy with who will do it in this night insha’Allah. Some U’lama/scholars say to read in each Rakaʿāh 10 times Surat ul-Ikhlas, meaning a total of 1,000 times Surat ul-Ikhlas in this prayer. But Mawlana Sheikh made it easier for us and said to read in the first Rakaʿāh 2 Surat ul-Ikhlas, and in the second Rakaʿāh 1 Surat ul-Ikhlas. It might take for some people 1 hour, 1 hour and a half, some people 2 hours and some 3 hours. Slowly, slowly you can do it. Allah ﷻ rewards you and you will be awake in this holy night. We are doing this and we must mention it here.

th One lady prayed each night 1,000 Rakaʿāh. Every year, when we reach 15 of Sha’ban, we think “What will we do? 100 Rakaʿāh how can we pray it?” This lady is Rabiʾatul al-Adawiyah. Each night, every night she prays 1,000 Rakaʿāh; not sleeping until Fajr. There are people like this, and we must take them as an example and to try to do something.

We can only do this and may Allah ﷻ reward us as her. She will be happy if He ﷻ rewards us like her. Awliya’uLlah don’t have envy, they like for Allah ﷻ to give everybody. Many of them say, “O my Lord, throw me in hell to fill it up, for

everybody to be safe.” They are like this. They give all these blessings and mercy not for themselves but for people. Why all this mercy? Because Allah ‘Azza wa Jalla is Merciful and the Prophet salla Llahu aa’layhi wa sallam is Merciful, and they love them so they try to imitate them. For this, if Allah ﷻ rewards us as her, she will not be envious like, Hāshā (far from it), Iblis [who says] “Why will You do this? How will You do this?”. She and they will be happy, all Awliya’uLlah; not envious. Not like people of our time, they teach people to be envious and to not be merciful. Allah ‘Azza wa Jalla praises this night.

So He ﷻ also creates special people that people love because they are worthy. They are like mercy oceans among the Ummah, not mercy islands. Each one of them is like an ocean. With His ﷻ mercy, Allah ﷻ gave people/human beings provision, eating, drinking, coming and going with [means] of their (Awliya’uLlah) mercy. Bismi Llāhi r-Raḥmāni r-Raḥīm, the Prophet salla Llahu aa’layhi wa

sallam says,. For the honor of these people, Allah ﷻ gives provision. For the honor of these people, Allah ﷻ sends rain. For the honor of these people, you’ll be victorious over the enemy. They are not like normal people. For this, they are beloved ones for ‘Allah Azza wa Jalla.

If He ﷻ takes them, there will be nothing. This is what will happen in the end of time. After Mahdi ‘alayhi s-salām comes and Isa ‘alayhi s-salām passes away, Allah ﷻ takes these people, and takes the Qur’an so there will be no word in it. If you open the Qur’an, you will not find any letter. After this, Allah ﷻ will send smoke, and the Mu’mins/believers will pass away. And after, the Qiyamah will rise on the Kafirs/unbelievers. It is not easy. Because in that time, there will be no mercy. Mercy will end. Allah ﷻ will take those people who are mercy among people, so He ﷻ can easily destroy others, destroy all this world. And Judgment Day will begin after this.

th Insha’Allah, it is important to do the Wazifah of Nisfu Sha’ban – 15 of Sha’ban. At least if our name is with those who will pass away, we pass away with Iman and Islam insha’Allah. If not, then it will protect us from badness insha’Allah. May Allah ﷻ make this night blessed and Mubarak for all of you, for all the Muslims, and to be Hidayah/guidance for the Ummah.

Because in the Ummah now, there are many hypocrites and many people who claim that they have a good way for Muslims. If any way, any man, any Jama’ah or gathering, is not in Tariqah, they are with shaytan in the end. If you look, now it is clearly seen around. We saw 10 years ago what happened with these

people, because they are not connecting to the Prophet salla Llahu aa’layhi wa sallam. There are only two ways; you will either be with the Prophet salla Llahu aa’layhi wa sallam or with shaytan. They say, “We are from this Jama’ah, from this gathering”; No. Normal people can be, no need for Tariqah. But those who claim to be leaders and are taking Muslims, and are showing a way without following Tariqah, don’t follow them. Because in the end, they will be harming.

The biggest harm for Muslims are the hypocrites. “Spy” they say. Spy means hypocrite. The most dangerous thing for the enemy is the spy because he knows what you are doing and makes people go against each other. For this, you cannot see any Awliya’uLlah or any one that does not belong to a Tariqah, has done something good for Muslims or Islam. We are connecting to all the Khulafa Al Rashidin/The Rightly Guided Caliphs. The 41 Tariqah are connecting to them. Who are outside of this, you cannot find anything good they’ve done for Islam. Even now they say, “This one wrote a book” and people are coming and reading the book. There’s no benefit. They are not respecting Tariqah. Some of them are saying that the Tariqah is also making demagogy. They are saying, “Tariqah is like sweets [eaten] after food. Now we are hungry, we must eat first. No need for sweets.” If you find sweets, you must eat; it will be of more benefit for you. They are making millions of people to be out of Iman, out of reality.

May Allah ﷻ give Hidayah/guidance for the Ummah. For this, we are praying for the Ummah to get Hidayah/guidance insha’Allah, and to follow these people who are beloved for Allah ‘Azza wa Jalla. May Allah ﷻ raise their Maqam,; all of them Masha’Allah.
