Thank Allāh ﷻ Always

1 min read

As-Salāmu ‘Alaykum wa RaḥmatuLlāhi wa Barakātuh. A‘ūdhu BiLlāhi Minash-shayṭāni r-rajīm. BismiLlāhi r-Raḥmāni r-Raḥīm. Wa ṣ-Salātu wa s-Salāmu ‘alá Rasūlinā Muḥammadin Sayyidi l-Awwalīna wa l-Akhirīn. Madad yā RasūlAllāh, Madad yā Sādāti Aṣḥābi RasūliLlāh, Madad yā Mashāyikhinā, Dastūr Mawlana Sheikh Abdullāh al-Fā’iz ad-Dāghistāni, Sheikh Muḥammad Nāẓim al- Ḥaqqānī. Madad. Ṭarīqatunā aṣ-Suḥbah wa l-Khayru fi l-Jam‘iyyah.

Prophet ṣallá Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam says,

‘Wa bi sh-shukri tadūmu n-ni’am’, ‘With thankfulness do blessings perpetuate.’ When you are making shukr, the ni’am, favors of Allāh ﷻ perpetuate. When people have something, they don’t know its value. So we must always thank Allāh ﷻ for what He ﷻ gave us. Unfortunately, we are not taking care of this [valuing thankfulness].

When you’re living a normal life, you think it will be like that forever. No. Sometimes it changes. But if you thank Allāh ﷻ, He ﷻ gives you more, and whatever you have of goodness continues; isn’t cut. There’s an old Turkish saying. People now, everywhere are not happy and are complaining about everything. Before, old people used to say, “O Allāh ﷻ, don’t take from us what we’re used to!” This means they are happy with what Allāh ﷻ has given them and want it to continue and not be cut off.

This is good Adab, good teaching from Prophet ṣallá Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam, and an order from Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla. May Allāh ﷻ make us from those people who are happy with His ﷻ favors.

Wa min Allāhi t-Tawfīq. Al-Fātiḥa.
