Know What’s Good and What’s Bad

As-Salāmu ‘Alaykum wa RaḥmatuLlāhi wa Barakātuh. A‘ūdhu BiLlāhi Minash-shayṭāni r-rajīm. BismiLlāhi r-Raḥmāni r-Raḥīm. Wa ṣ-Salātu wa s-Salāmu ‘alá Rasūlinā Muḥammadin Sayyidi l-Awwalīna wa l-Akhirīn. Madad yā RasūlAllāh, Madad yā Sādāti Aṣḥābi RasūliLlāh, Madad yā Mashāyikhinā, Dastūr Mawlana Sheikh Abdullāh al-Fā’iz ad-Dāghistāni, Sheikh Muḥammad Nāẓim al- Ḥaqqānī. Madad. Ṭarīqatunā aṣ-Suḥbah wa l-Khayru fi l-Jam‘iyyah.

“Ṭarīqatunā ṣ- ṣuḥbah wa l-khayru fi l-jam‘iyyah”, “Our way is one of spiritual companionship (ṣuḥbah) and goodness is within the community.” This is what Mawlānā Shaykh Bahauddin Naqshbandī was saying in every ṣuḥbah. He made twelve thousand ṣuḥbahs. In order to be blessed from Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla, we imitate him, to be the same like him, in shā’a Llāh. We try to follow him as much as we can. Sunnah means to imitate Prophet ṣallá Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam. We imitate what he ﷺ had done. We try to make the Sunnah and everything Prophet ṣallá Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam had done. For every Sunnah, Allāh ﷻ gives ten rewards, hasanāt; for everybody doing a Sunnah. And in the end of times, Prophet ṣallá Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam says, there will be seventy or a hundred reward of martyr, shahīd for the one who performs a Sunnah of Prophet ṣallá Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam. We imitate our mashāyikh. And our mashāyikh imitate Prophet ṣallá Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam. Our intention is to follow what Prophet ṣallá Llāhu ‘alayhi wasallam was doing, and be away from what the people who not love Prophet ṣallá Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam are doing or saying or teaching people. We are away from these people. We are ‘Ahlu s-Sunnah wal Jamā’ah, ṭarīqah people, sharī’ah people. We have madhhab. We have ṭarīqah. This is like a shelter for you. As much as you shelter yourself, you will be safe from the harm of shayṭān and his followers. They cannot reach you with that shelter. Under that shelter, you will always have more shelter and more protection for yourself.

AlhamduliLlah we are gathering for the love of Allāh ﷻ and love of Prophet ṣallá Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam. This gathering of ours is a gathering of knowledge, Talab al-Ilm (seeking knowledge). All of you came for knowledge, you want to learn. You are students. Allāh ﷻ is saying, Allāh ﷻ loves Tālib ul-Ilm (seeker of knowledge), and He ﷻ orders the angels to put their wing under their feet, and this tālib ul-ilm can go up upon the wing of the angel. So, this is what we are trying to do. Even if understanding or not understanding, when we are here, Allāh ﷻ sends His ﷻ mercy and blessings upon this gathering.

For this, Prophet ṣallá Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam says, when you are passing by a garden of paradise, go and take as much as you can take. The ṣaḥābah said, “We are in dunyā. What is this garden of paradise?” He ﷺ said, “It is the gathering of knowledge. It is paradise.” And you when you enter there, Allāh ﷻ gives you from the blessings of paradise. Paradise is very precious. You can’t think or compare it to anything. For this, AlhamduliLlah everybody who comes here, gets from these blessings, showering alhamduliLlah. Just as we hear the rain also showering. We are thanking Allāh ﷻ for what He ﷻ gave us. Human beings especially mu’mins must appreciate what Allāh ﷻ gives and thank Him ﷻ for it. Other people: we are not responsible of them. They must know. Allāh ﷻ has given them knowledge to know what’s good and what’s bad.

But unfortunately, in this time, these people who think they’re clever and try to guide people to their way are making the right things and what you know is good seem as wrong. What we know to be the wrong thing from the beginning, against the nature of human beings, we say this is wrong, and we know must not do it. They say, “You must follow what we are saying.” But this is wrong. We cannot follow that. Prophets had been showing us the way. And the last prophet, our Prophet Muhammad ṣallá Llāhu ‘alayhi wasallam completed what human beings need. Everything for human beings is shown by the Qur’ān and the Prophet ṣallá Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam, Sayyidinā Muhammad ṣallá Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam. There is an instruction for everything you do from your first day to the end of your life that you must follow. Of course, Allāh ﷻ has given babies also instructions and they as they become older, more responsibilities are given to them. So you cannot say, “I like this, I like to do this, I can do because I am free, I can do what I like.” This cannot be good for you. And when it’s not good for you, it’s not good for the society you are living in, for the country and for the whole world; it will be a disaster. We see everywhere, they are changing things according to their ideas. And every time they come up with something they think is good, it becomes worse and worse and worse.

For this, we are gathering to know what it is important, and what is not good. Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla has taught. ‘ ’, ‘A’llama l-‘Insāna Mā Lam Ya’lam’, ‘Taught man that which he knew not.’ (Qur’ān 96:05). Allāh ﷻ has given knowledge to human beings that they didn’t know about. Many ṣaḥābah went to countries to tell people about things. They were astonished, “How did you know this? We knew this but you are living in the desert, how do you know this?” They said, “This is Allāh’s ﷻ knowledge, He ﷻ gives it to whomever He ﷻ wants.” Many human beings think they know everything. But what they know is not even one drop from the ocean of Allāh ﷻ. They cannot say it is like a dust; it is less than a dust. But they are proud. They say there is AI, or computer; that they have many things. But this is nothing - we can’t even say “Compared to Allāh’s ﷻ knowledge.” We cannot compare anything to His ﷻ knowledge. This is also a wrong word

to say “Compared to the knowledge of Allāh ﷻ”; this is very wrong. We cannot compare dust to all the universe.

So it is nothing: what they are happy with. They are proud and they are making people to be happy and to be like them. There can’t be any benefit of this. Because when you they close their eyes, there’s no breath and nothing, there’s nothing, it’s finished. So what’s the benefit? The benefit is for the believer who’s saying that everything is from Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla not from machine, not from people. People of these days are doing bad things to each other, teaching people to be out of the nature of human beings, harming mankind; this cannot be good for them. It is only for those alhamduliLlah following Prophet ṣallá Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam. And who follows Prophet ṣallá Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam, Allāh ﷻ loves him. It is said in Qur’ān, ‘? ? ’, ‘If you love Allah, then follow me, [so] Allah will love you.’ (Qur’ān 03:31). If you love Allāh ﷻ, follow me, follow Prophet ṣallá Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam, Allāh ﷻ will love you. And this is what’s most important for us, for everyone, for every human being: for Allāh ﷻ to love you. If Allāh ﷻ curses you, this is the worst thing for these people. There are many people cursed by Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla. They are not feeling this, but they will be away and it will be of no benefit for them. Only believers will be seeing these people in the hereafter and they’ll be happy they didn’t follow them. In this life, people are looking, seeing and watching everything. And these people hide what’s good and show only what’s bad. So don’t be worried about what they are saying.

AlhamduliLlah we are pleased with Allāh ﷻ. Allāh ﷻ has given us everything. And when He ﷻ loves somebody He ﷻ gives him īmān. This is the most precious thing. AlhamduliLlah may Allāh ﷻ give all human beings this īmān. But it is in the end of times that the whole world will become Muslim. Because this is the promise of Allāh ﷻ for Prophet ṣallá Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam. It will be, in shā’a Llāh. We hope that it will be soon. We are seeing the world suffering, human beings are finishing everything. They destroyed everything. So we need somebody to repair this and make the world be good again for human beings. When Mahdi ‘alayhi s-salām comes, Mawlānā Shaykh says, it will be nice, raining in the night time and no rain in the day time; a good weather. Everything will be full of barakah. No economic crisis, no difficulty, no poorness. All of this will be with Sayyidinā Al-Mahdi ‘alayhi s-salām, in shā’a Llāh. We hope that it will be soon, in shā’a Llāh.

But we are also thanking Allāh ﷻ for what He ﷻ gave us. We are not complaining but we don’t accept what unbelievers are saying. This also must be known. If you see a bad thing, don’t say this is normal. We say, “This is not normal. We are not happy with this.” You must even say it in your heart. Because if you teach yourself to see a bad thing and say it’s normal, this will be not good for you; to see haram as normal. May Allāh ﷻ keep

us safe, our people, Muslims everywhere, here and in other countries. May Allāh ﷻ keep them on the way of Allāh ﷻ, to remember Allāh ﷻ. To be happy with Allāh ﷻ, Allāh ﷻ will be happy with them, in shā’a Llāh.
