The Miracle of Rain
As-Salāmu ‘Alaykum wa RaḥmatuLlāhi wa Barakātuh. A‘ūdhu BiLlāhi Minash-shayṭāni r-rajīm. BismiLlāhi r-Raḥmāni r-Raḥīm. Wa ṣ-Salātu wa s-Salāmu ‘alá Rasūlinā Muḥammadin Sayyidi l-Awwalīna wa l-Akhirīn. Madad yā RasūlAllāh, Madad yā Sādāti Aṣḥābi RasūliLlāh, Madad yā Mashāyikhinā, Dastūr Mawlana Sheikh Abdullāh al-Fā’iz ad-Dāghistāni, Sheikh Muḥammad Nāẓim al- Ḥaqqānī. Madad. Ṭarīqatunā aṣ-Suḥbah wa l-Khayru fi l-Jam‘iyyah.
Bismi Llāhi r-Raḥmāni r-Raḥīm:
(Qur’ān 42:28). ‘Wa Huwa Al-Ladhī Yunazzilu Al-Ghaytha Min Ba`di Mā Qanatū Wa Yanshuru Raĥmatahu Wa Huwa Al-Walīyu Al-Ĥamīd’, ‘And it is He who sends down the rain after they had despaired and spreads His mercy. And He is the Protector, the Praiseworthy.’ Sadaqa Llāhu l-‘Aẓīm.
Masha’Allah, regarding this rainfall—since everything is in the Hand of Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla the rain, and indeed everything else, belongs to Him ﷻ. All of these are manifestations of the great power of Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla. Rain. Masha’Allah, the rain has been pouring down heavily since morning. If those who do not believe seek a miracle, this is the greatest miracle of all. Vast bodies of water are floating in the air. Whenever and wherever He ﷻ wills, He ﷻ sends down mercy from them. He ﷻ sends down either mercy or wrath. May Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla treat us with His ﷻ mercy; may these rains be a source of mercy, not a calamity. May He ﷻ send them down with barakah.
Yet, one must also recognize the power of Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla and stand in awe of that power. He ﷻ does whatever He ﷻ wills and enacts whatever He ﷻ desires. Clouds drift about. There are millions of seas in the air; vast waters are floating above. Allāh ﷻ sends the rain down where He ﷻ commands, “Descend!”, and passes over the places where He ﷻ commands, “Do not send it down!” That very same cloud may pass by without shedding a single drop. Everything concerning Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla is a miracle. What is termed a “miracle” is the accomplishment of something deemed impossible; yet, within the power of Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla there is no such thing as the impossible.
Therefore, let people take heed and give thanks to Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla. Let them not lose hope in Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla. In the verse, “Wahuwa-lladhī yunazzilu-l-ghaytha min ba‘di mā qanaṭū” (Qur’ān 42:28). the word “qanaṭū”
signifies the loss of hope. No matter the circumstances, one must never lose hope in Allāh ﷻ. Regardless of one’s situation, one must have faith, believing that Allāh’s ﷻ help will arrive. A person who loses hope in Allāh ﷻ has weak faith or lacks faith altogether. Indeed, those without faith fear everything, for they have nothing to lean upon. A believer, however, relies on Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla. Knowing that everything is in His ﷻ Hand, the believer takes refuge in His ﷻ mercy and walks His ﷻ path. By entering into that mercy, one is protected by Allāh ﷻ. May Allāh ﷻ protect us all. May these rains bring barakah. May they be beneficial to the entire Ummah, in shā’a Llāh. May faith and barakah descend along with this mercy, in shā’a Llāh. May Allāh ﷻ be pleased with you all.
Wa min Allāhi t-Tawfīq. Al-Fātiḥa.
