Be Pleasing to Allāh ﷻ, Not People

As-Salāmu ‘Alaykum wa Raḥmatullāhi wa Barakātuh. A‘ūdhu Billāhi Minash-shayṭāni r-rajīm. Bismillāhi r-Raḥmāni r-Raḥīm. Wa ṣ-Salātu wa s-Salāmu ‘alá Rasūlinā Muḥammadin Sayyidi l-Awwalīna wa l-Akhirīn. Madad yā RasūlAllāh, Madad yā Sādāti Aṣḥābi Rasūlillāh, Madad yā Mashāyikhinā, Dastūr Mawlana Sheikh Abdullāh al-Fā’iz ad-Dāghistāni, Sheikh Muḥammad Nāẓim al-Ḥaqqānī. Madad. Ṭarīqatunā aṣ-Suḥbah wa l-Khayru fi l-Jam‘iyyah.

Bismi Llāhi r-Raḥmāni r-Raḥīm:, ‘Wa Lā Yakhāfūna Lawmata Lā'imin’, ‘And do not fear the blame of a critic.’ (Qur’ān 05:54). Ṣadaqa Llāhu l-‘Aẓīm.

Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla says in Qur’ān ‘Aẓīmu sh-Sha’n, the believer, the one who is with Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla, doesn’t care what people say. He does not value it. What they say is not important for the person who is on the way of Allāh ﷻ. What’s important is to be on the way of Allāh ﷻ.

They don’t have such a worry as: “This one will like me. That one won’t like me.” Their worry is: “May Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla like us. May He ﷻ accept us.” This is all what their purpose, worry and thoughts are: May Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla accept us. “Someone else accepted me. That one accepted me. This one did not accept me. He didn’t like our dressing. He didn’t like this reading of ours. He didn’t like our walking,” they don’t have such a worry.

The person who is with Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla doesn’t think about anyone other than Him ﷻ. What he thinks about is making his wearing, eating, drinking be as Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla wants. There is no such rule in Islām that this man or this woman or I don’t know who should like it or accept it.

In Islām, you must dress neatly and cleanly. You will keep yourself clean. You will keep away from impurity. After that, it’s all easy. What you eat will also be clean. There will be no impurity. There will be no dirt.

People who don’t like us, Islām and Muslims are dirty from top to bottom and Janābah (intercourse impurity). On top of that, the things they eat are impure.

Now this is impurity. And the first impurity of all is alcohol. Once it touches you, you have to wash it. You have to wash it to remove that impurity.

Also what you eat. Now, these mindless non-Muslims say, “A nation ate dogs. How can they eat dogs!” You eat pork. Pigs are dirtier than dogs. What is this logic? They have no such thing as logic. A person who doesn’t believe in Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla has no logic at all. He has nothing right.

That’s why, they will turn you into a monkey in order to like you. If you’re going to please them, you will expose yourself as a laughingstock for people to laugh at you. That’s when they will actually laugh at you.

A person who is on the way of Allāh ﷻ and who is as Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla wants, this will be his biggest gain. Everything will become beautiful. He will have followed the way of Allāh ﷻ. Otherwise if he acts based on, “This will like it, that won’t like it,” Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla will not look upon you with a good gaze this time. He ﷻ won’t be happy with you.

May Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla’s pleasure be upon you all, in shā’a Llāh. Don’t get sad saying, “He said this. He said that.” It doesn’t suit you. On the contrary, if we do what those who don’t like us, that is, those who don’t like Islām, do not like, how lucky we are. How nice for us. That is by doing good deeds that they don’t like. So if they will like us by doing bad things, they should not like us at all. We do goodness by being good. If they like us, great. If they don’t like us, it doesn’t matter. Wa min Allah at-Tawfiq. Al-Fatiha.
