Protecting Our Ancestors’ Legacy
As-Salāmu ‘Alaykum wa Raḥmatullāhi wa Barakātuh. A‘ūdhu Billāhi Minash-shayṭāni r-rajīm. Bismillāhi r-Raḥmāni r-Raḥīm. Wa ṣ-Salātu wa s-Salāmu ‘alá Rasūlinā Muḥammadin Sayyidi l-Awwalīna wa l-Akhirīn. Madad yā RasūlAllāh, Madad yā Sādāti Aṣḥābi Rasūlillāh, Madad yā Mashāyikhinā, Dastūr Mawlana Sheikh Abdullāh al-Fā’iz ad-Dāghistāni, Sheikh Muḥammad Nāẓim al-Ḥaqqānī. Madad. Ṭarīqatunā aṣ-Suḥbah wa l-Khayru fi l-Jam‘iyyah.
Our ṭarīqah is based on ṣuḥbah. And so that there are good communities, its goal is this. The goal is for the pleasure of Allāh ﷻ, in shā’a Llāh. Our gathering is from the beloved gatherings of Allāh ﷻ, in shā’a Llāh. It is certainly so, because we have come here for the pleasure of Allāh ﷻ. And you have come here with this love. May it be everlasting, in shā’a Llāh.
You gather once a week anyway. Be careful not to miss these gatherings at all. If you don't go one week, go the second week. If you can't go, make sure to attend it on the third week. Benefit from its thawāb (rewards). They are the jewels. They are from the most precious things people have in life. These gatherings are so precious that we can't compare them to anything. That's why, at least once a week - Tomorrow evening on Thursday, dhikr and Khatmu l-Khwajagān, will be made. As we said, if not once a week, make sure to attend once in two weeks. It's still beneficial at least once in three weeks. And if a person can't keep it up, if he doesn't come after three weeks, he won't want to come anymore. He won't feel like coming. Therefore, in order to break your ego, make sure to attend these ṣuḥbat and dhikr.
Shukr to Allāh ﷻ, it is a Muslim country here. Everywhere there are Muslims. It is the place of our ancestors, not of Christians. Cyprus is the place of the Ottomans. And there are no North and South. They are the same. Both are the soil of Islām. Therefore, we must pay attention to this. We must be careful with the legacy of our ancestors. We must not leave the legacy as prodigals. Prodigals are the ones who inherit something from their fathers, but waste it in five days, because they didn't suffer, they didn't have hardship.
Our ancestors shed blood until they got these places. Hungry and thirsty, exposed to all kinds of suffering, they conquered these places for the pleasure of Allāh ﷻ. Holy ones came here and built dargāhs, mosques, tombs and various things. They made waqfs. Waqf means - there are many types of waqf. Whatever is written in the deed of a trust, it must be done. For example, this blessed place is a waqf. "This place is mine. I make this place as waqf for the pleasure of Allāh ﷻ to be used as a mosque, masjid, dargāh, food bank, madrasah and a place of help for people." This much land, this many yards, this many meters; they wrote down everything. People of old times were careful, not like now. They said they made these places as waqf for the pleasure of Allāh ﷻ until qiyāmah. And they wish the curse of Allāh ﷻ comes to those who go against their will. This is so in most waqfs. But there are other waqfs, according to their intentions they may be sold and exchanged for other things. That is different. But the ones with written deeds of trusts like Ayasofya in Istanbul, Sayyidinā Fatih Sultan Mehmed has written it himself and had paid for it. Those who turned it into a museum for years are cursed ones.
Therefore oftentimes people ask, "Where do these troubles come from?" Troubles come from the curse. A cursed person is the worst. Curse is badness. Getting rid of it is only by quitting what you do. But if you've started doing it, you can't quit? If you can't quit, you will be cursed. Others will be cursed too. May Allāh ﷻ protect us. This is important. People don't pay attention. They say "It is waqf; let's benefit from it. Why is it for the poor? We are better at eating than them. Let them not eat, and die. Let us eat ourselves." Whereas, shukr to Allāh ﷻ, the money they earn is enough for all. It is abundant enough. The poor ones don't have anything. They take away their rights. So they are sick from the inside, and they bring harm to people around them. When the curse comes down, it is scattered; just like when mercy comes down. It covers everyone around, friends and acquaintances. It covers everyone.
This place where we are sitting now is not even one tenth of the holy one's donation. They've done everything. They opened their graves. They did what the kāfirs (unbelievers) wouldn't do, and threw them away. Forty to fifty years ago, they were playing with their skulls like with balls here. As they didn't show importance to such things, there is no barakah in anything. But thanks to Allāh ﷻ, this place is Muslim. This is what is important. Their rights will be paid in the future, with the permission of Allāh ﷻ. When Mahdī ‘alayhi s-salām comes, he will bring justice to those whose rights were taken away. All these wrongdoings will be corrected.
Shukr to Allāh ﷻ, time is near. This world has reached the peak of oppression. When dunyā reaches its peak and completion, its end will come. It will be finished. It has almost come. In shā’a Llāh, the oppression will be gone from this world soon. The religion of Allāh ﷻ will be apparent. Justice, goodness and beauty will be everywhere, in shā’a Llāh. May Allāh ﷻ let us reach those days. May He ﷻ increase the mosques and multiply believers.
May Allāh ﷻ give guidance and mind and understanding to people. Those who take away rights are stupid. Those who oppress are stupid, because they will pay for that. If you thought about your punishment, you wouldn't do what you are doing. You wouldn't oppress and take rights. You wouldn't torture anyone. You wouldn't do bad things and badness to anyone. Who does badness is stupid. May Allāh ﷻ give us mind and understanding, in shā’a Llāh. May Allāh ﷻ not let us get confused in our minds. People get confused sometimes. Something happens and they cheat people. And the biggest cheater is shayṭān. He cheats and destroys people, and goes away. May Allāh ﷻ protect us from his evil. And may He ﷻ protect us from taking others' rights, in shā’a Llāh, with or without knowing. May Allāh ﷻ forgive us all.
Wa min Allah at-Tawfiq. Al-Fatiha.
