Rebellion in Return for Comfort

As-Salāmu ‘Alaykum wa Raḥmatullāhi wa Barakātuh. A‘ūdhu Billāhi Minash-shayṭāni r-rajīm. Bismillāhi r-Raḥmāni r-Raḥīm. Wa ṣ-Salātu wa s-Salāmu ‘alá Rasūlinā Muḥammadin Sayyidi l-Awwalīna wa l-Akhirīn. Madad yā RasūlAllāh, Madad yā Sādāti Aṣḥābi Rasūlillāh, Madad yā Mashāyikhinā, Dastūr Mawlana Sheikh Abdullāh al-Fā’iz ad-Dāghistāni, Sheikh Muḥammad Nāẓim al-Ḥaqqānī. Madad. Ṭarīqatunā aṣ-Suḥbah wa l-Khayru fi l-Jam‘iyyah.

May our assembly be blessed insha’Allah. Bismi Llāhi r-Raḥmāni r-Raḥīm:

(Qur’ān 02:20). ‘Inna Llāha Aa’la Kulli Shay’in Qadīr’, ‘Certainly, Allah has power over all things’, says Allah ‘Azza wa-Jalla. Allah ‘Azza wa-Jalla is the possessor of power. He ﷻ is powerful over everything. Nothing is difficult for Allah ‘Azza wa-Jalla. Difficulties are for the creatures. Allah ‘Azza wa-Jalla is the Creator. He ﷻ created the whole universe Himself. Everything came to existence from nothing through the power of Allah ﷻ. People and sometimes Muslims cannot comprehend it. And non-Muslims have gone completely astray. Ḥāshā (far from it), they describe Allah ‘Azza wa-Jalla with nonsense things. They have not understood the matter of power at all.

As the religion of Islam is the religion of Allah ‘Azza wa-Jalla, this religion is the religion of all Prophets. But just like the bodies of mankind vanish immediately, decay and stink, Allah ﷻ created them this way. If they walk on the right way a little – unless they control themselves and walk on the right way – they will immediately decay, get moldy and become a carcass. They won’t be approachable because of their odor. You can’t come close to them because of their smell. This is the law of Allah ‘Azza wa-Jalla. Nothing will happen to those who are with Allah ﷻ. Their way is steadfast, and they are steadfast themselves. In Akhirah, who are with them will be steadfast too.

We are living in Dunya. We see these days. There all kinds of oppression and all kinds of badness in this world. Who is the lucky one in this world? It is the Muslim. The Muslim is lucky because for what he goes through in this world, Allah ‘Azza wa-Jalla increases his rank and levels in Akhirah. He gets his rewards and Thawab in return.

Everyone thinks about his own situation now. They don’t take lessons from others; whereas the order of Allah ‘Azza wa-Jalla is, “Fa- ʿtabirū yā-ʾulī l-ʾabṣār”, “So take warning, O people of vision.” (Qur’an 59:02)., “Yā-ʾulī l-ʾalbab”, “O you [people] of understanding”. (Qur’an 02:179). “Take a lesson, O possessor of heart. Take a lesson, people who have hearts.” We say, “Fa-ʿtabirū yā-ʾulī l-ʾabṣār”, “So take warning, O people of vision.” (Qur’an 59:02) in Salat ul-Janazah/ Salat ul-Ghaib which we pray at Maghrib. It means “Take lesson. This world doesn’t remain to anyone. And it won’t remain to you.” We must take a lesson.

Especially in these days, people got used to comfort. They rebel and become miserable at the tiniest thing, whereas there are many things to take lessons from. Shukr to Allah ﷻ, poor and rich ones here have houses to stay and food to eat. Even if they don’t have anything at home, Shukr to Allah ﷻ, there are charities and good people. They can go to them and take their food and Rizq. Yet, just close to us, thousands of people - It already happened here as well because of the matter of the earthquake last year. There were no homes, no clothing, no food, nothing. In one night, half of them were dead and half of them alive. They were making Shukr for being saved in that situation. But people here say, “My husband said this to me. My neighbor said that to me. Someone else did this. I am disturbed and at unrest.” One says, “I will leave my husband.” Another one says, “I will leave my wife.” These are not nice things.

This world is not paradise. We say this a hundred times. Paradise is in Akhirah. Paradise is for the patient ones. Allah ‘Azza wa-Jalla is saying, Bismi Llāhi r-Raḥmāni r-Raḥīm: ‘ ’, ‘Wa lanabluwannakum bishay’in min al-Kḥawfi wa l-jū‘i wa naqṣin min al-amwāli wa l-anfusi wa l-thamarāti wa bashiri s-ṣābirīn.’ Allah ‘Azza wa-Jalla says, “We will test you. There can be any kind of test; poverty, illness, death. Give good tidings to those who are patient”. (Qur’ān 02:155). “We give you property, Rizq, even your life as a test for you. They may become an affliction for you. We will take them from you. But there is good tidings for the patient ones after that.” There is great good tidings for the patient ones.

This is the matter of patience. People are no longer patient with the little things. They got used to easiness. They got used to laziness. They don’t accept the smallest advice. And then they come and ask for Dua. How will the Dua occur then! We make Dua that Allah ﷻ makes people get along well with each other, so that they are patient and don’t see the little mistakes. This life is not a honey pie.

Sometimes there is hardship. Sometimes there is relief. This is the will of Allah ‘Azza wa-Jalla for life. He ﷻ created it this way. Because without hardship, there is no value for relief.

All people got used to comfort now. They rebel at the slightest drawback and cause suffering to themselves. They harm themselves. This is the bad side of impatience: harming yourself. We see in the news that thousands of people hop on cars and try to run away. Why are you running away? “Our houses here are destroyed. People are attacking us with bombs and rockets. We are running away from this.” Weren’t you comfortable there? “Wallahi, I guess we were comfortable,” they say. Whereas they also had complaints just like here when they lived there. But when the situation worsens, they say “If only we were back in our place.” Therefore, may Allah ﷻ protect us.

Favours last and increase with Shukr in this world. We must make Shukr for every situation of ours. Don’t complain. Allah ‘Azza wa-Jalla doesn’t like complaining. He ﷻ loves the patient ones. He ﷻ doesn’t like the impatient ones. And the solution for what He ﷻ doesn’t like is repentance and asking forgiveness. Of course, sometimes people get distressed. They should beg to Allah ‘Azza waJalla and ask for forgiveness. They should say, “We made a mistake. We can’t make enough Shukr for the favors You give even if we worship for a million years. Help us. Forgive our sins.” We must always repent like this.

Certainly, people commit sins. But Allah ‘Azza wa-Jalla forgives. You must always repent so that your sins are forgiven, you earn Thawab and you attain the pleasure of Allah ﷻ. Allah’s ﷻ pleasure will be upon you. This is what Muslims ask for. If you do so, with the permission of Allah ﷻ you will be an accepted person both here and hereafter.

To be an accepted person is not to have money and power. They may be sometimes accepted among people. But the accepted person in the sight of Allah ﷻ is the repenting one, a person who asks for the pleasure of Allah ﷻ. Therefore, young and old, women and men; all of them are servants of Allah ﷻ. They must always think about the pleasure of Allah ﷻ. Because our life will lead to the presence of Allah ﷻ eventually. We won’t go anywhere else. Everyone’s destination is in the presence of Allah ﷻ. We must appear before Him ﷻ as good people so that we are at rest. If you are not a good person, woe to you! You will regret it, but regret will be useless then.

May Allah ﷻ give mind and understanding to people. We always say this. Because people are being cheated. Even though they say they are clever, there is such a shaytan out there who teaches and instructs people what to do. There is no one he can’t cheat. Everyone is cheated. Beware of saying you are clever and that you won’t be cheated.

Mawlana Shaykh Nazim used to tell this. Bāyazīd Bisṭāmī was in Hajj. Certainly, Sayyidina Bāyazīd Bisṭāmī is a great Awliya. It had rained and there was a flood then. He looked and saw shaytan with leashes in his hand. He said, “What are you doing?” “I am putting them on Hajjis. They’ve just become Hajjis. I am putting a leash on them so that they commit a sin and pull them behind myself.” “But they are Hajjis.” “Hajjis start committing sin immediately as soon as they leave. That is ok. They’ve become clean. So they get dirty and get clean again. Allah ﷻ will forgive them.” Sayyidina Bāyazīd Bisṭāmī said then, “Do you have a leash for me as well? I saw you. You can’t cheat someone like me.” He said, “You don’t need a leash. I can ride you without a leash.” It had rained and flood was flowing then. And an old man was standing. Bāyazīd Bisṭāmī said, “Let me help you pass to the other side.” He took him on his back and while he was carrying him above the water, he [shaytan under the guise of an old man] said, “I told you I would ride you without a leash. It is me.”

There is no one who can’t be cheated. So beware of saying, “No one can cheat me.” Everyone may be cheated. So don’t believe in the tricks of shaytan. Therefore, we must always repent and ask for forgiveness on the way of Allah ‘Azza wa-Jalla so that we are not cheated.

They have cheated the whole world. They destroyed the Ottomans. And the whole world is like an explosive now. Shukr to Allah ﷻ, it was a beautiful time for 400 years during the Ottoman period. The world had lived very shortly in such safety and peace. The Ottomans were gone and the peace was gone. This world has come to an end. Why? Because the era of oppression has started. There was justice with the Ottomans. With justice, everything is done right. Without justice, there is nothing; neither peace, nor Barakah, nor goodness.

, Oppression doesn’t last. If it lasts, it will destroy and ruin everything. We are living in that time now. Since a hundred years, nearly more than a hundred years, the situation is getting worse everywhere. Even in places where they say nothing would happen, all over the world is in a miserable condition. Insha’Allah Allah ﷻ will send the Sahib, and beautiful days will come

again insha’Allah. But there is little beauty and comfort in this world. There will be comfort for forty years. And then Qiyamah will take place.

Qiyamah is near. It is Qiyamah when people close their eyes. But the actual Qiyamah is near too. The time of this world has reached its end. They are using everything they have. They know it too. They are also waiting. They are waiting for their leader. They are waiting for the Dajjal. That is written in their wrong books. That is why they are messing everything up. May he come as soon as possible too. Insha’Allah may he come and see what he will do. May Allah ﷻ help us. May Allah ﷻ protect people insha’Allah.

They talk about oppression. This is oppression. This is what Allah ﷻ has written. This is the will of Allah ﷻ. We cannot do anything. We make Dua of course. May Allah ﷻ help the oppressed ones. And may the ranks of the deceased be high. Those in Gaza and so are very oppressed people. May Allah ﷻ help them insha’Allah.
