The Prophet ﷺ Showed Us the Easy Way

As-Salāmu ‘Alaykum wa Raḥmatullāhi wa Barakātuh. A‘ūdhu Billāhi Minash-shayṭāni r-rajīm. Bismillāhi r-Raḥmāni r-Raḥīm. Wa ṣ-Salātu wa s-Salāmu ‘alá Rasūlinā Muḥammadin Sayyidi l-Awwalīna wa l-Akhirīn. Madad yā RasūlAllāh, Madad yā Sādāti Aṣḥābi Rasūlillāh, Madad yā Mashāyikhinā, Dastūr Mawlana Sheikh Abdullāh al-Fā’iz ad-Dāghistāni, Sheikh Muḥammad Nāẓim al-Ḥaqqānī. Madad. Ṭarīqatunā aṣ-Suḥbah wa l-Khayru fi l-Jam‘iyyah.

Our Holy Prophet ṣallá Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam tells us to be in the middle. He ﷺ wants ummah to be in the middle. "When you do something, do it without going to extremes," advises our Holy Prophet ṣallá Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam. Everything should be easy. Religion of Islām is not difficult. It is an easy religion. There is easiness in this religion. What should we do? All the worship we must do is difficult for our egos. It is difficult for the ego, but normally it is a very easy thing for people. But some people are taking more burdens on themselves. And some are not doing anything at all. Therefore, to be in the middle and to be consistent is the advice of our Holy Prophet ṣallá Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam.

Three persons once came to Masjid un-Nabawī of our Holy Prophet ṣallá Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam. One of them said "I won't sleep at all. I will worship continuously." Another one said, "I will fast. I won't do without fasting. Worshipping and fasting.” Third one said, "I won't ever get married in order not to miss my worship. I will only perform worship." When our Holy Prophet ṣallá Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam heard this, he ﷺ said, "I sleep and wake up. I perform worship. I fast and sometimes I don't. I don't always fast. And I get married." Not getting married is not good, said our Holy Prophet ṣallá Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam.

This is a lesson for us. These ṣaḥābahs thought as they liked, whereas as our Holy Prophet ṣallá Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam is superior over them, no need to do the things they had said. No need, because when your worship is accepted in the presence of Allāh ﷻ, you are together with Allāh ﷻ. You attain the pleasure of Allāh ﷻ. Things you do within a day, time you spend with your family, working and earning your rizq are counted as worship by Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla.

Therefore, you shouldn't pull yourself away from this world like monks and do nothing except worship, says our Holy Prophet ṣallá Llāhu alayhi wa sallam. You attain rewards and thawāb through these things you do. This is

easiness. Otherwise, if He ﷻ tells you to do, most of those who devote themselves to worship, people on the way of Allāh ﷻ will leave everything and do only that. Not sleeping, fasting, staying single; people have a certain capacity and ability to do them.

Our Holy Prophet ṣallá Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam is teaching us the best. He ﷺ is advising the best to us. Following his ﷺ way is the biggest gift for believers. If Allāh ﷻ makes you successful in going on that way, that is the biggest and best thing you can ask from Allāh ﷻ. We should make du‘ā’. May Allāh ﷻ not separate us from the right way. May the love of our Holy Prophet ṣallá Llāhu ‘alayhi wasallam always be in our hearts. This is the most important thing. May the love of our Holy Prophet ﷺ be above everything. There is nothing above it. There is no worldly thing above it. Because people have been living and going since thousands of years. They live and go. What states had been, what kings had lived, what sulṭāns had come. None of them has remained. Those who had love, who loved for the pleasure of Allāh ﷻ are in profit. But when they say, "I got so much and so much profit," no benefit comes from things that are not for Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla. Others' benefits are for themselves. We should always have the love of our Holy Prophet ﷺ in our hearts more than anything.

Sometimes people say they love this and that without knowing. Therefore, we should ask for forgiveness every day. There cannot be any love above the love of our Holy Prophet ﷺ. Nothing. Neither children and parents, nor the love of motherland can be above the love of our Holy Prophet ﷺ. Therefore, people must be careful when they speak. If they always keep this in their minds, they will attain a great reward for their intention in the presence of Allāh ﷻ. And the biggest reward is the intercession of our Holy Prophet ṣallá Llāhu ‘alayhi wasallam. That is what we all need the most. Without it, you may have all the knowledge of the world, you may perform the worship of all servants. Unless you have love of our Holy Prophet ṣallá Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam, that has no benefit. May Allāh ﷻ make all of us steadfast insha’Allah.
