Medicine Cures Only by His ﷻ Will

As-Salāmu ‘Alaykum wa RaḥmatuLlāhi wa Barakātuh. A‘ūdhu BiLlāhi Minash-shayṭāni r-rajīm. BismiLlāhi r-Raḥmāni r-Raḥīm. Wa ṣ-Salātu wa s-Salāmu ‘alá Rasūlinā Muḥammadin Sayyidi l-Awwalīna wa l-Akhirīn. Madad yā RasūlAllāh, Madad yā Sādāti Aṣḥābi RasūliLlāh, Madad yā Mashāyikhinā, Dastūr Mawlana Sheikh Abdullāh al-Fā’iz ad-Dāghistāni, Sheikh Muḥammad Nāẓim al- Ḥaqqānī. Madad. Ṭarīqatunā aṣ-Suḥbah wa l-Khayru fi l-Jam‘iyyah.

The power and greatness of Allah ‘Azza wa-Jalla surpasses people’s mind and imagination. Everything happens with His ﷻ power. If we are living, we are living by the will of Allah ‘Azza wa-Jalla. There are such things that if Allah ‘Azza wa-Jalla wants even a tiny thing to happen and brings it to movement, there will be no more living things. There will be no humans and animals. His ﷻ power and greatness live in all these things. Until death comes, people don’t go before that time.

People say, “We are doing this and that. We found this medicine and that medicine” and feel proud. That is also by the will of Allah ‘Azza wa-Jalla. Medicine won’t bring any benefit without the will of Allah ‘Azza wa-Jalla. People will take it in vain. Its effect is with the will of Allah ‘Azza wa-Jalla. Therefore, we must know this. People say, “How come? Kafirs also take it and get better.” Certainly, that is by the will and wish of Allah ‘Azza waJalla. Everything has its wisdom. Allah ‘Azza wa-Jalla is the one who knows everything.

Allah ‘Azza wa-Jalla built this system for the children of Adam. This system will go on until Qiyamah. Sometimes people will get sick and sometimes get better. Sometimes medicine will help, and sometimes it won’t. Everything is by the will of Allah ‘Azza waJalla. We must know this. Mu’mins and Muslims should not say “I took medicine and recovered.” Allah ‘Azza wa-Jalla wished for this medicine, and with His ﷻ wisdom, He ﷻ put remedy in it. So we take this medicine and recover. Not with the medicine itself but with the will of Allah ‘Azza wa-Jalla.

Diseases and this and that are pre-written by Allah ‘Azza wa-Jalla for people. So they must come. People say then, “Should we not go to a doctor and not take medicine?” No. You must take it. But you must know that remedy comes from Allah ‘Azza wa-Jalla. Otherwise, even Kafirs take medicine. Sometimes they get better, sometimes they don’t. There is some medicine that you must take. Taking that is something people must do. There are some things that if people don’t take them, they harm themselves and they harm others. Therefore, people must know this. If they listen to people saying medicine has no benefit and leave it, they are the responsible ones then. You must say BismiLlah and make intention for the cure to come with the will of Allah ﷻ. When you do so, you will not forget Allah ‘Azza wa-Jalla and not get Him ﷻ out of your head. Because everything is with the power of Allah ‘Azza wa-Jalla.

Some people [misunderstand] relying on Allah ﷻ. You should not harm others with your reliance. Allah ‘Azza wa-Jalla gave us this test. We must deal with it as long as our lifetime is and manage with medicine and disease of this world until we reach Allah ﷻ. May Allah ﷻ not let us forget His ﷻ Dhikr. Dhikr means not forgetting Allah ‘Azza wa-Jalla. It is not just saying “Allah Allah”. Dhikr means not forgetting in Arabic, always remembering. We must remember His ﷻ name in everything. With His ﷻ name, everything will be good, everything will be easy, as Süleyman Çelebi says in the Mawlid.
