As-Salāmu ‘Alaykum wa RaḥmatuLlāhi wa Barakātuh. A‘ūdhu BiLlāhi Minash-shayṭāni r-rajīm. BismiLlāhi r-Raḥmāni r-Raḥīm. Wa ṣ-Salātu wa s-Salāmu ‘alá Rasūlinā Muḥammadin Sayyidi l-Awwalīna wa l-Akhirīn. Madad yā RasūlAllāh, Madad yā Sādāti Aṣḥābi RasūliLlāh, Madad yā Mashāyikhinā, Dastūr Mawlana Sheikh Abdullāh al-Fā’iz ad-Dāghistāni, Sheikh Muḥammad Nāẓim al-Ḥaqqānī. Madad.
1Qala RasuluLlah salla Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam The Messenger of Allāh ﷻ (peace be upon him ﷺ) says:
Our Holy Prophet ﷺ is saying, “When the garment is loose, throw both its edges on your shoulders and cover all your body. Then perform your prayer. If your garment is tight, tie your waist with it and perform your prayer without the top garment.” In old times, it was expensive and difficult to find clothes from fabric, of course. Some people could find and some could not. Therefore, this matter refers to the old times. If it was too large, they had to pray by throwing the excess on their shoulders. And if it was little, they had to cover their private parts and pray like that, says our Holy Prophet ﷺ.
2Qala RasuluLlah salla Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam The Messenger of Allāh ﷻ (peace be upon him ﷺ) says:
Our Holy Prophet ﷺ is saying, “Use ‘Izar worn, as the bottom, below your waist and use Rida worn as the top above your waist when you perform your prayer. Do not resemble the Jews,” says our Holy Prophet ﷺ. As we said, because there were no (clothes) in that time, they could cover themselves less. Therefore, in order not to resemble Jews, people had to cover their ‘Awrah (private parts).
3Qala RasuluLlah salla Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam The Messenger of Allāh ﷻ (peace be upon him ﷺ) says:
Our Holy Prophet ﷺ is saying, “Undoubtedly, it is Awrah below the hips until the knees.” If that is open, according to our Madhhab, it must be covered. Madhhabs have different Fatwas. But the thighs up to the hips and down until the knees, it is Awrah.
4Qala RasuluLlah salla Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam The Messenger of Allāh ﷻ (peace be upon him ﷺ) says:
Our Holy Prophet ﷺ is saying, “It is prohibited for your Awrah to be revealed.” For men also, it is forbidden to show their thighs.
5Qala RasuluLlah salla Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam The Messenger of Allāh ﷻ (peace be upon him ﷺ) says:
For men also, not only women, Awrah is between their navel and knees. That area must definitely be covered for men while praying. If they don’t have anything else, at least, that area must be covered. If they have, they must put on a shirt and pray like that.
6Qala RasuluLlah salla Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam The Messenger of Allāh ﷻ (peace be upon him ﷺ) says:
Our Holy Prophet ﷺ is saying, “It is forbidden to pray only in trousers or shalwar without anything on top.” It is forbidden to pray uncovered on top and only in shalwar. If there is a shirt, you must wear it.
7Qala RasuluLlah salla Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam The Messenger of Allāh ﷻ (peace be upon him ﷺ) says:
Our Holy Prophet ﷺ is saying, “The Awrah (forbidden) for a man to show to another man is like Awrah of woman to another woman.” It is forbidden for men to show their parts: their thighs until knees. It is the same for women. Women cannot see the Awrah of other women. It is forbidden too. “Awrah of women to other women is like Awrah of men.” They have Awrah that are forbidden to see. It is also wrong to show them to other women even if they are not men.
8Qala RasuluLlah salla Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam The Messenger of Allāh ﷻ (peace be upon him ﷺ) says:
Our Holy Prophet ﷺ is saying, “Cover your thighs, because thighs are from Awrah.” It is till knees.
9Qala RasuluLlah salla Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam The Messenger of Allāh ﷻ (peace be upon him ﷺ) says:
Our Holy Prophet ﷺ is saying, “Cover your thighs, because the thighs of men are from Awrah.” It is not permissible to show the parts till knees.
10-Qala RasuluLlah salla Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam The Messenger of Allāh ﷻ (peace be upon him ﷺ) says:
Our Holy Prophet ﷺ is saying, “Cover his [child’s] Awrah, because the Awrah of a child being Haram is like Awrah of an adult being Haram.” Some people let their children run around naked. That is not good, because he is like an adult. “Allah ﷻ doesn’t look at the person who reveals his Awrah with the look of mercy.”
11-Qala RasuluLlah salla Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam The Messenger of Allāh ﷻ (peace be upon him ﷺ) says:
Our Holy Prophet ﷺ is saying, “The thighs of a Muslim person are from his Awrah.” The area from the navel till the knees is Awrah.
12-Qala RasuluLlah salla Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam The Messenger of Allāh ﷻ (peace be upon him ﷺ) says:
Our Holy Prophet ﷺ is saying, “The thighs are from Awrah.” They must be covered.
13-Qala RasuluLlah salla Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam The Messenger of Allāh ﷻ (peace be upon him ﷺ) says:
Our Holy Prophet ﷺ is saying regarding men, “The area between the navel and the knees is Awrah.”
14-Qala RasuluLlah salla Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam The Messenger of Allāh ﷻ (peace be upon him ﷺ) says:
Our Holy Prophet ﷺ is saying, “It is Awrah above knees and below the navel.”
15-Qala RasuluLlah salla Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam The Messenger of Allāh ﷻ (peace be upon him ﷺ) says:
Our Holy Prophet ﷺ is saying, “The prayer of a person in a garment not covering his armpits and shoulders is forbidden.” It is forbidden to pray without a proper covering if there are clothes. “It is forbidden to pray only in shalwar or trousers without the top.” If there is a shirt, praying only in shalwars with being naked from the top because it’s hot is wrong and forbidden.
16-Qala RasuluLlah salla Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam The Messenger of Allāh ﷻ (peace be upon him ﷺ) says:
Our Holy Prophet ﷺ is saying, “Don’t reveal your thighs. And don’t look at thighs of either a living person or a dead person.” People are open everywhere now. As you look at them, darkness comes, you make a sin. You must repent to Allah ﷻ so that He ﷻ forgives you insha’Allah.
17-Qala RasuluLlah salla Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam The Messenger of Allāh ﷻ (peace be upon him ﷺ) says:
Our Holy Prophet ﷺ is saying, “The prayer of a woman who has reached the age of menstruation is only accepted with a headscarf.” If girls have reached the age of menstruation, but certainly not during the menstruation, their praying must surely be with a headscarf. Because they are not children anymore. Their prayer is like of adults. They must cover their heads and everything.
Sadaqa RasuluLlah fi ma qal, aw kama qal. The Messenger of Allāh ﷻ says the truth in what he ﷺ said or as he ﷺ said.
