No Need to Prove Yourself Right
As-Salāmu ‘Alaykum wa RaḥmatuLlāhi wa Barakātuh. A‘ūdhu BiLlāhi Minash-shayṭāni r-rajīm. BismiLlāhi r-Raḥmāni r-Raḥīm. Wa ṣ-Salātu wa s-Salāmu ‘alá Rasūlinā Muḥammadin Sayyidi l-Awwalīna wa l-Akhirīn. Madad yā RasūlAllāh, Madad yā Sādāti Aṣḥābi RasūliLlāh, Madad yā Mashāyikhinā, Dastūr Mawlana Sheikh Abdullāh al-Fā’iz ad-Dāghistāni, Sheikh Muḥammad Nāẓim al- Ḥaqqānī. Madad. Ṭarīqatunā aṣ-Suḥbah wa l-Khayru fi l-Jam‘iyyah.
Bismi Llāhi r-Raḥmāni r-Raḥīm:
(Qur’ān 25:63). ‘Wa ‘Idhā Khātabahumu Al-Jāhilūna Qālū Salāmāan’, ‘And when the ignorant address them [harshly], they say [words of] peace.’ Ṣadaqa Llāhu l-‘Aẓīm.
This is a beautiful ‘Ayah from Allah ‘Azza wa-Jalla that tells us what we should do. When something happens, people think, “I must defend myself.” When they hear a bad word or people speaking against them, they strive to make it clear so that people know the truth. No need for that.
Don’t listen to ignorant people. Don’t argue and debate with ignorant people. Allah ‘Azza wa-Jalla tells not to pay attention to them. They don’t understand. As their intention is bad anyway, the more you speak with them and the more you argue with them, the worse it gets. Therefore, the best is not to speak and not to pay attention to them. It won’t bring any benefit. Because if you bark back at the dog that barks at you, you may bark as much as you want, until the evening. What will happen? People will laugh at you. They will blame you for that. That is an animal and it barks. So what if it barks at you? It will be bad. So what if it doesn’t bark? It will be good.
This is the matter. This is what people don’t understand. They are causing suffering to themselves for nothing. They are getting upset for nothing. Whereas [they should say], “I didn’t hear it. Allah ﷻ knows. So what if servants know or don’t? We are not going to give account to them. We will give account to Allah ‘Azza wa-Jalla.” He ﷻ will surely punish those who do badness to you in the presence of Allah ﷻ. And may Allah ﷻ protect us from the evil in Dunya as well. However, as it is Dunya, there is Fitnah and worldly situations. All kinds of things may take place and happen to people.
Every word of our Holy Prophet ﷺ is beautiful. This word is even more [special]. He ﷺ says, “Who is the most powerful person? Is it the person who beats and defeats people? No, not that one. It is the person who controls his anger.” The person who controls his anger is more powerful than everything. Who doesn’t control his anger may be as powerful as he wants, his power has no effect.
What shaytan wants is you getting upset and angry, you fighting and arguing. This is what he wants. When you do this, shaytan is overcoming you. As we said, even if you are the most powerful person in the world, you are weak if you cannot control your anger. Someone who is the weakest but capable of controlling his anger is the strongest person. May Allah ﷻ protect us from evil, human shaytans and shaytans. May Allah ﷻ protect us from Iblis. May He ﷻ protect us all from Fitnah.
Wa min Allah at-Tawfiq. Al-Fatiha.
