Get Ready for Qiyāmah

4 min read

As-Salāmu ‘Alaykum wa Raḥmatullāhi wa Barakātuh. A‘ūdhu Billāhi Minash-shayṭāni r-rajīm. Bismillāhi r-Raḥmāni r-Raḥīm. Wa ṣ-Salātu wa s-Salāmu ‘alá Rasūlinā Muḥammadin Sayyidi l-Awwalīna wa l-Akhirīn. Madad yā RasūlAllāh, Madad yā Sādāti Aṣḥābi Rasūlillāh, Madad yā Mashāyikhinā, Dastūr Mawlana Sheikh Abdullāh al-Fā’iz ad-Dāghistāni, Sheikh Muḥammad Nāẓim al-Ḥaqqānī. Madad. Ṭarīqatunā aṣ-Suḥbah wa l-Khayru fi l-Jam‘iyyah.

Bismi Llāhi r-Raḥmāni r-Raḥīm, "Huwa lladhī jaʿala sh-shamsa ḍiyāʾan wa-l-qamara nūran wa-qaddarahū manāzila li-taʿlamū ʿadada s-sinīna wa-l-ḥisāb" (10:5). Ṣadaqa Llāhu l-‘aẓīm. Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla created the moon and the sun for us to know the months and years and to know our calculation. Every day starts as a new day and finishes. And then a week starts and finishes. A month starts and finishes. A year starts and finishes. Shukr to Allāh ﷻ, people who perform worship must do it for the pleasure of Allāh ﷻ so that it doesn't go in vain.

And today is the last day of this year in shā’a Llāh. It is the end of Dhū l- Ḥijjah and Hijrī year. Tomorrow is 1st of Muḥarram. Tomorrow starts after Maghrib prayer. When the sun sets, the day is over. According to Hijrī calendar, a new day starts from the evening. Therefore, our new year starts with adhān of maghrib prayer. The New Hijrī year begins. May it be full of barakah and blessed in shā’a Llāh.

Because it has been nearly 1,450 years since hijrah of our Holy Prophet ṣallá Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam. Our Holy Prophet ṣallá Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam says, "The distance between me and qiyāmah is very near." Therefore, this world will not last forever. People oftentimes do some things thinking they will last forever. What will last is your good deeds, your charity, your obedience and worship to Allāh ﷻ. That will last forever. It will last till eternity. People do things in this world as they like. That has no meaning. Everyone says what he likes and does as he likes in this world. And he will give its account in ākhirah. It will not be unquestioned. We should seek refuge in Allāh’s ﷻ mercy and not do bad things. We should do good things. May our lives pass in goodness worship and for the pleasure of Allāh ﷻ in shā’a Llāh. Otherwise, we'll have a hard time.

Qiyāmah is near. That is certain. It is the promise of Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla in

Qur’ān ‘Aẓīmu sh-Sha’n. says, ‘ ’, ‘Iqtarabati s-sā‘atu’, ‘The Hour has come near.’ (Qur’ān 54:01). He ﷻ says qiyāmah is near. It is even nearer now. It is approaching day by day. And how should one prepare himself for qiyāmah? He can prepare himself by being on the way of Allāh ﷻ, by not doing badness and performing worship. Worship brings benefit to him. It has no benefit to Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla. "I did my worship to Allāh ﷻ, not for myself." It is not like this. Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla doesn't need it. You are in need of that worship.

Therefore, as we said, qiyāmah is near. Our Holy Prophet sallá Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam had said an even more clear and beautiful word. The Qiyāmah of every person is his death. Because when they die, they will open their eyes on doomsday. They may live for 1,000 years, or have died 10,000 years ago; it doesn't matter. They will turn into earth. On Judgment day, Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla will create bones, flesh, blood, veins, nerves and everything from that earth, and you will come up on doomsday just the way you are now. It will not matter then if you lied there for 10 years, 100 years, or 1,000 years. What will matter there is if you've done goodness or not. Nevertheless, there is an end for them in this world so that they understand.

Everything has its time. And the time is near. That time is near. Only big signs have remained. All small signs have shown up. May Allāh ﷻ protect all of us. May He ﷻ protect us from all evil and the evil of our egos before all. Because the biggest enemy of people is as our Holy Prophet ṣallá Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam says, , "A‘dá ‘aduw nafsuka l-latī bayna janbayk". Your biggest enemy is your ego. Even if you do goodness, it strives to ruin it. When you do something good and think to yourself "What a goodness have I done. No one can do it. But I did it," repent and ask for forgiveness immediately. And if you say it out loud, you will claim that. And that has no value. May Allāh ﷻ protect us.

May Allāh ﷻ give a good year to the Islamic world in shā’a Llāh. May it be good for humanity in shā’a Llāh. Because humanity is not going up lately but going down and low. It is not going down but all below. The lower they are, the more they are accepted now among people. Therefore, may Allāh ﷻ protect us. May Allāh ﷻ send the saviour within this time in shā’a Llāh. May this year be the year of goodness and the year of salvation for humanity in shā’a Llāh.

Wa min Allah at-Tawfiq. Al-Fatiha.
