The New Hijrī Year

As-Salāmu ‘Alaykum wa Raḥmatullāhi wa Barakātuh. A‘ūdhu Billāhi Minash-shayṭāni r-rajīm. Bismillāhi r-Raḥmāni r-Raḥīm. Wa ṣ-Salātu wa s-Salāmu ‘alá Rasūlinā Muḥammadin Sayyidi l-Awwalīna wa l-Akhirīn. Madad yā RasūlAllāh, Madad yā Sādāti Aṣḥābi Rasūlillāh, Madad yā Mashāyikhinā, Dastūr Mawlana Sheikh Abdullāh al-Fā’iz ad-Dāghistāni, Sheikh Muḥammad Nāẓim al-Ḥaqqānī. Madad. Ṭarīqatunā aṣ-Suḥbah wa l-Khayru fi l-Jam‘iyyah.

Shukr to Allāh ﷻ, today we prayed the last Friday prayer of this Hijri year, we performed it here. Next week is the new year in shā’a Llāh. Starting from Sunday is the new Hijrī year. It is 1446 years since the blessed migration of our Prophet ṣallá Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam.

Because of the migration of our Prophet ṣallá Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam, Allāh ﷻ gave us this calendar, to Ummati Muhammad ﷺ, based on the principles Allāh ﷻ wants. We perform our worships according to it. Our worship is based on it. The believers need it. The wājib, farḍ for believers are all based on this calendar. Why is this? Because it was given in honor of our Prophet ṣallá Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam, for his ﷺ barakah. People who follow him ﷺ and do as he ﷺ wishes, in shā’a Llāh, will be the means for goodness and good deeds.

As we said today, people saw great miracles in the hijrah of our Prophet ṣallá Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam and the miracles of the whole life of our Prophet ṣallá Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam. The one who was destined believed. Those who weren’t destined, even if it was the closest ones, they did not have a share of this. Some became unbelievers, some became believers. But what is important is that if a person’s fate is good, as Allāh ﷻ has given him, if it is upon īmān then he has won. Without īmān, he can be whomever he wants, it is of no use.

As we said, miracles happened in our Prophet ṣallá Llāhu ‘alayhi wasallam’s migration. Karāmāt are for Awliyā’ and miracles are for prophets. The miracles of our Prophet ṣallá Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam are many. Everyone has heard of it, but it is still beneficial to say some.

When our Prophet ṣallá Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam hid in the cave, a spider made a web there by the command of Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla. The dove also built a nest there. When the polytheists saw this, they said, “There is no way they are here. If they were here, these [the web and nest] wouldn’t have been there.” But this is what was shown to the apparent. Mawlānā Shaykh Nāẓim says, if they approached there, they would’ve been burned to ashes. They would turn to ashes before they approached our Holy Prophet ﷺ. But these mean they happened for the future. Some of these miracles were shown to be a teaching for people.

After that, there was one who was following them from behind. He later became a companion named Surāqa. They were people who were skilled at following the trail with their horse. When he started riding, his horse’s feet sank before it approached our Holy Prophet ﷺ. Once again, twice, thrice; he looks at it and gets scared. He says, “If you save me, I will believe”, and he gets saved. Our Prophet ṣallá Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam gives him good tidings that he will take from the treasures of the Kisra. At that time, our Holy Prophet ṣallá Llāhu ‘alayhi wasallam - only two people were going in the desert. He says he heard something that is beyond his imagination. But then it became true. Then, he remembered, “While I was following the Prophet ṣallá Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam, he ﷺ said this. Now, the miracle has occurred.” He took from the treasures of Kisra.

Of course, what Allāh ﷻ says will definitely come true. There is a limit to the human mind and thinking. There is a limit, there is an even bigger limit and there is limitlessness. We cannot even call it limitlessness in the knowledge of Allah ‘Azza wa-Jalla. There are so many things that are beyond mankind’s imagination.

Therefore, this migration of our Prophet ṣallá Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam brings new blessings to us, in shā’a Llāh. The things that our Prophet ṣallá Llāhu 'alayhi wa-sallam gave good tidings about have been coming true since that time. Now qiyāmah is near, says our Prophet ṣallá Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam. Everything our Prophet ṣallá Llāhu ‘alayhi wa sallam said, especially in the last 50-60 years, almost all of them, that is, very little has not been realized yet. These are also great signs that when they come out, qiyāmah will begin.

Things are very chaotic now, but for the believer, for the one with īmān, believing in what our Prophet ṣallá Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam said will put him at ease and relieve him. No matter how much bad things happen, there are the good tidings of our Prophet ṣallá Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam. Islam will spread all over the

world. The whole world will become Muslim. All the oppression and such will end. There will be justice. There will be goodness and beauty, in shā’a Llāh.

In shā’a Llāh we are entering this new year, in shā’a Llāh. In that new year, in shā’a Llāh, we hope that in shā’a Llāh, in the new year from now on, we will reach Mahdi ‘alayhi s-salām without further delay. The world will be at peace. Because, as we see, all these great powers have fallen into conflict with each other, saying, “I can hit, I can break, I can throw, I can do this, I can do that.”

When a normal person hears it, they think, “What will happen to us? Will the whole world explode if they do something now? What will happen?” With the good tidings of Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla and our Holy Prophet ﷺ, everything will eventually be under the Islamic dominion with the permission of Allāh ﷻ. We are waiting. We have nothing for anyone. We have no thanks for anyone. We are all on the way of Allāh ﷻ. We are subject to the will of Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla, in shā’a Llāh. We submit to Him ﷻ. Do not expect any goodness from anyone other than Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla. “No, I’ll do it for you”, they say. Be with those who are on the way of Allāh ﷻ. Be with sincere people. Allāh ﷻ will be with you, in shā’a Llāh.
