The Holy Day of ‘Arafah

As-Salāmu ‘Alaykum wa Raḥmatullāhi wa Barakātuh. A‘ūdhu Billāhi Minash-shayṭāni r-rajīm. Bismillāhi r-Raḥmāni r-Raḥīm. Wa ṣ-Salātu wa s-Salāmu ‘alá Rasūlinā Muḥammadin Sayyidi l-Awwalīna wa l-Akhirīn. Madad yā RasūlAllāh, Madad yā Sādāti Aṣḥābi Rasūlillāh, Madad yā Mashāyikhinā, Dastūr Mawlana Sheikh Abdullāh al-Fā’iz ad-Dāghistāni, Sheikh Muḥammad Nāẓim al-Ḥaqqānī. Madad. Ṭarīqatunā aṣ-Suḥbah wa l-Khayru fi l-Jam‘iyyah.

May Allāh ﷻ give barakah to all of us on this holy day. May we have strength of īmān. Mā shā’a Llāh this Yawmu ‘Arafah is once a year for ḥajj, and it is a great favour for Muslims. The more worship you perform to Allāh ‘Azza waJalla on this day, make tasbīḥāt and charity, the more blessings you attain. May the virtue and barakah of Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla be upon us.

Today is not an ordinary day. There are normal days. And there are days with more barakah which are more beautiful and bestowed by Allāh ﷻ. Yawmu ‘Arafah is one of the days bestowed by Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla to us. Ḥajjīs are waiting for their prayer now on ‘Arafāt. They will perform their worship.

Even if they do it or not, as they are under the special look of Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla, they will attain the grace of Allāh ﷻ. Their ḥajj will be complete. They will carry out the order of Allāh ﷻ with that ḥajj. Everyone knows that people cannot go there by wearing suit and tie. People go there in white iḥrām. And they stand on that site, on that holy place without any difference from each other. Different will be people with more good deeds who don't oppress anyone.

People who go there by recieving blessings attain the virtue of that place. But no, "You didn't come with us." May Allāh ﷻ give understanding to people. "You went there without taking permission, without asking us. You didn't go with us. You didn't join our group. Your ḥajj won't be accepted," they say.

May Allāh ﷻ protect us. You interfere in business of Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla. You go out of the way shown by our Holy Prophet ﷺ. In the time of our Holy Prophet ﷺ, everyone who went there became ḥajjī. Moreover, even if someone goes up to ‘Arafāt with the intention of stealing, he is counted to be ḥajjī for being there on that time. Being ḥajjī and making that sin are different things. As

long as you stand there, you become ḥajjī. "You didn't go with us." This is something beyond...

As we live in the end of times, we see weird things. They shouldn't seem strange. This thing... Astaghfiru Llāh. It is wrong to say "Your ḥajj is not accepted" if they didn't go with you to a place where Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla invites people. Ḥajj is ḥajj. Therefore, may Allāh ﷻ bless it for those ḥajjīs. May their virtue increase. Sometimes they do some things, they make waqfa. We used to make waqfa at one stage.

There was a late majzūb brother, Ḥajjī Mestan. He told us to make waqfa. Mawlānā Shaykh Nāẓim didn't accept it. Everything has its method. You cannot just stop to make waqfa. If you do it, you must make du‘ā’ asking for you du‘ā’ to be accepted for barakah of du‘ā’ of ḥajjīs. It is special for them to stand together in waqfa. There are some things that while people think they are doing goodness, they are doing badness unaware of it. This is what they call bid‘ah.

Some jamā‘ahs have brought up the birthday of our Holy Prophet ﷺ to be on April 21 suggesting to celebrate his ﷺ birthday then. They have assigned days as they like. That is also wrong. Because the real time... Shayṭān wants people to miss the precious time by showing various things as good which are actually bad. That is wrong. That is also bid‘ah.

Bid‘ah has two types. Bid‘ah ḥasanah - good bid‘ah. If people do some good things and others follows them in that, they will be written thawāb until qiyāmah. But there are bad things. If you make bad bid‘ah, its sin will be same for you and those who do it. May Allāh ﷻ protect us.

Today is a holy day. As we said, everyone must follow his murshid. They must ask from scholars, pious scholars. There are many scholars who are not pious. As we said, there are many scholars who make bid‘ah, mislead people for their benefit and give fatwá. Don’t be with them. But be with true people of ṭarīqah, scholars in ṭarīqah.

Those outside usually make mistakes. Everyone can make mistakes. But there are big mistakes and small mistakes. Therefore, may Allāh ﷻ protect us. May Allāh ﷻ bless this day. Certainly, the day is not over yet. There is tasbīḥāt and tahlilāt until the evening. And most importantly, we must complete 1,000 x Ikhlāṣ

until the evening. That is a great favour. Thawāb of ḥajjīs there will be upon us in shā’a Llāh.
