Adab is Humanity

As-Salāmu ‘Alaykum wa RaḥmatuLlāhi wa Barakātuh. A‘ūdhu BiLlāhi Minash-shayṭāni r-rajīm. BismiLlāhi r-Raḥmāni r-Raḥīm. Wa ṣ-Salātu wa s-Salāmu ‘alá Rasūlinā Muḥammadin Sayyidi l-Awwalīna wa l-Akhirīn. Madad yā RasūlAllāh, Madad yā Sādāti Aṣḥābi RasūliLlāh, Madad yā Mashāyikhinā, Dastūr Mawlana Sheikh Abdullāh al-Fā’iz ad-Dāghistāni, Sheikh Muḥammad Nāẓim al- Ḥaqqānī. Madad. Ṭarīqatunā aṣ-Suḥbah wa l-Khayru fi l-Jam‘iyyah.

BismiLlahi r-Rahmani r-Rahim - I couldn’t remember the Ayah completely. Allah ’Azza wa-Jalla says in Qur’an ‘Azimu sh-Shan when you come to some house, ask permission from that house to enter. If you are given permission, enter it. If they don’t give permission, “Fa-rji’ou”, “Then go away.” (Qur’an 24:28) - go away from there. Allah ‘Azza wa-Jalla doesn’t say to insist.

Quran ‘Azimu sh-Shan teaches Adab to people. It teaches Adab and humanity together with Adab. Adab means humanity. Lack of Adab is anything you know what to call it then. Therefore, especially people of Tariqah must pay attention to this. Adab is required in some places. Adab is required everywhere, but in some places it is more important.

“No, here it is not…” A house has its respect both religiously and traditionally. Traditionally meaning it is something widely known. But unfortunately, as we are living in the end of times now, everyone makes something up according to their own minds and think that is right. What is right is Adab.

People of old times, the Ottomans had Adab, may Allah ﷻ raise their Maqam. There is no more Adab since after the Ottomans. There is no Haya’ (shyness). One of the things our Holy Prophet ﷺ had said to disappear is this. What our Holy Prophet ṣallá Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam had said is appearing. We must see his ﷺ holy words as an order, especially the people of Tariqah. Therefore, whatever there is, we must learn from it.

As we said, the Ottomans even made a book called “Adab Irfan” on how to behave and act. They made a book which showed the good and the bad so that people didn’t get confused. Certainly, as we said, there is no trace of that. May Allah ﷻ be pleased with them. Insha’Allah may He ﷻ let all of us follow in their steps.
