Never Say Later

As-Salāmu ‘Alaykum wa Raḥmatullāhi wa Barakātuh. A‘ūdhu Billāhi Minash-shayṭāni r-rajīm. Bismillāhi r-Raḥmāni r-Raḥīm. Wa ṣ-Salātu wa s-Salāmu ‘alá Rasūlinā Muḥammadin Sayyidi l-Awwalīna wa l-Akhirīn. Madad yā RasūlAllāh, Madad yā Sādāti Aṣḥābi Rasūlillāh, Madad yā Mashāyikhinā, Dastūr Mawlana Sheikh Abdullāh al-Fā’iz ad-Dāghistāni, Sheikh Muḥammad Nāẓim al-Ḥaqqānī. Madad. Ṭarīqatunā aṣ-Suḥbah wa l-Khayru fi l-Jam‘iyyah.

Insha’Allah there are here people who know German and English. Therefore, we will speak in English so that everyone will understand and Abdul Malik Efendi will translate.

BismiLlahi r-Rahmani r-Rahim:, “Inna Al-Muşşaddiqīna Wa Al-Muşşaddiqāti Wa 'Aqrađū Allaha Qarđāan Ĥasanāan Yuđā`afu Lahum Wa Lahum 'Ajrun Karīm”, “Indeed, the men who practice charity and the women who practice charity and [they who] have loaned Allah a goodly loan - it will be multiplied for them, and they will have a noble reward.” (Qur’an 57:18). Ṣadaqa Llāhu l-‘Aẓīm.

Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla says in Qur’an Azimu sh-shan, men and women who give Sadaqah and loan Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla gain great rewards and Thawab in return for their loan. Giving Sadaqah is a means for great benefit for the Mu’min. It is what Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla accepts. He ﷻ says in Qur’an Azimu sh-shan, Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla considers it as a loan to Him ﷻ. I will grant whoever gives, endless and limitless rewards and Thawab, says Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla.

If people in this world loan each other, they want something in return of course. But Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla certainly gives in return. This is a great benefit for believers, for people. Because the human’s ego doesn’t like this [giving] and doesn’t want this. The thing people dislike the most is giving. They always want to take. That’s why Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla says, ‘ ’, ‘Wa man yuqa shuh-ha nafsihi fa ula’ika humu l-muflihun’, ‘And whoever is protected from the stinginess of his soul - it is those who will be the successful.’ (Qur’ān 59:09). In the Presence of Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla, the one who protects himself from the stinginess of his ego, wins. They gain the pleasure of Allāh ﷻ, says Allāh ‘Azza waJalla. Because human beings say, “I will give. I will give it later. When I grow older I

will give it, or I will give it later on.” He consoles himself. Days pass, months pass, years pass; he goes to akhirah all empty.

I am speaking in Turkish. It came like this.

Therefore, Prophet ṣallá Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam says, “Halaka l-Musawwifun.” What does Musawwifun mean? Sawfa. Sawfa means “I will do..” or “I will do it later” in the Arabic language. As it is the language of the Qur’an Azimu sh-shan of Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla, it is superior over all languages. It means “I will do it later on.”, “I will do”, “I will make”, , “I will give.” Those who say, “I will do, I will give, I will make,” will perish says our Holy Prophet ṣallá Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam; those who say, “I will do later on.” Because ‘later’ is not in the hand of mankind. It is not clear for mankind what will happen a second later. Therefore, if you will do you must immediately do it. If you’ve made a promise, you must immediately fulfill that promise. Don’t leave it for later. What we mean by later: if you promised in the evening, if you have the opportunity, give it immediately the next morning. If you keep it for the evening of the second day, a hundred shaytans will come to you and change your mind. They won’t let you give it. They will prevent you from doing goodness, charity and helping. “I will do it later.” This evening.. “Later.” “Later on.”

Our Arab brothers have a famous saying, “Bukra insha’Allah.” Bukra insha’Allah means tomorrow insha’Allah. “I will give it tomorrow insha’Allah.” Tomorrow comes, they say again, “Bukra insha’Allah.” Then again, “Bukra insha’Allah.” “How come! You said tomorrow.” “I am telling you tomorrow. I am not lying. I am saying tomorrow.” ‘Tomorrow’ doesn’t end! Life ends and ‘tomorrow’ doesn’t end.

Therefore, if you made a promise, be sure to fulfill that promise as soon as possible. It must be fulfilled. Our Holy Prophet ṣallá Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam tells about the signs of the hypocrite, “: ”. The hypocrite lies when he speaks. When he promises something, he doesn’t keep his promise. If you rely on him with a trust, he betrays you. He will betray you and hit you in the back. These are the signs of the hypocrite. Therefore, as much as a person stays away from those attributes, as much as he lives as a human being. He becomes valuable in the sight of Allah ﷻ. His value increases. Otherwise, he has no value, he loses his worth. A person who has no worth in the sight of Allah ﷻ, has no worth among people.

Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla loves the trustworthy person who keeps his word. It is from the attributes of our Holy Prophet ﷺ. The most beautiful attributes are the attributes of our Holy Prophet ṣallá Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam. He ﷺ was called

“Muhammad ul-Amin”; he ﷺ has this attribute., “La Ilaha illa Allah Muhammadun RasuluLlah salla Llāhu ‘alayhi wasallam.” Before the Message of Islam, he ﷺ was known as Al-Amin, the trustworthy. Everyone loved his ﷺ attribute.

Because as we said, there are many people who obey their ego. There are many people who follow their ego. The ego keeps people away from goodness. It never wants any goodness. The person who follows his ego does no good. His situation will be difficult in this world and the hereafter.

Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla keeps the Sadaqah Himself for the sake of our Holy Prophet ﷺ. Our Holy Prophet ṣallá Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam says, "Mā naqaṣa mālun min ṣadaqah". Wealth does not decrease from Sadaqah. Wealth does not decrease from charity; wealth increases. If you want to increase your wealth, give Sadaqah. If you want good health, give Sadaqah. If you want to be protected, give Sadaqah. Sadaqah prevents fire and the wrath of Allah ﷻ.

Therefore, you must remember this in order not to obey your ego. Wealth doesn’t decrease from Sadaqah, it increases. Of course, people pay Zakat, but most people neglect Sadaqah. Sadaqah also prevents accidents and afflictions. That’s why, every day before leaving home, be sure to make a box for Sadaqah and put it somewhere; So that Allāh ﷻ keeps away any affliction or disease from you, your children and your family insha’Allah. May Allāh ﷻ accept from you.

Masha’Allah, your Sadaqah, good deeds and charity are much here. Beautiful places were also built for Islam. These may be made from Sadaqah. Of course, they may not be made from Zakat. A mosque, school, etc. can be from Sadaqah but never from Zakat. Zakat and Sadaqah must be separated. Zakat is the right of the poor. It is the right of Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla.

All kinds of charity can be done with Sadaqah. A mosque can be built, a Madrasah can be built, a hospital can be built, a well can be drilled. These are all from Sadaqah. They are called Sadaqah Jariyah. Our Holy Prophet ṣallá Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam says, when people leave this world, the book of deeds closes for all deeds unless for three deeds. The first is Sadaqah Jariyah, the ongoing charity, such as those [mentioned above]. After that, a righteous child. And [lastly] a person

who leaves beneficial knowledge. If people benefit from them, their rewards and goodness are written down for them. Whoever drinks, whoever benefits whether humans, a bird, a wolf, an insect. The reward of all of them is written to that person. May Allāh ﷻ perpetuate our good deeds inshā’aLlāh. As human beings work for this world, they should not forget the hereafter either. So that their book of deeds remains open, they should do these good deeds inshā’Allāh. May Allāh ﷻ help us all.

They hosted us here. Masha’Allah, these are our Muslim brothers. May Allāh ﷻ be pleased with them. May their goodness be perpetual. They are also raising children. All of their rewards belong to those who have done this goodness. We gathered here tonight. Insha’Allah, they will also be a blessing to all of you. May Allāh ﷻ be pleased with those who built this place, may their ranks be high, may paradise be their abode insha’Allah.

Wa min Allah at-Tawfiq. Al-Fatiha.
