Don’t Be Cheated
As-Salāmu ‘Alaykum wa Raḥmatullāhi wa Barakātuh. A‘ūdhu Billāhi Minash-shayṭāni r-rajīm. Bismillāhi r-Raḥmāni r-Raḥīm. Wa ṣ-Salātu wa s-Salāmu ‘alá Rasūlinā Muḥammadin Sayyidi l-Awwalīna wa l-Akhirīn. Madad yā RasūlAllāh, Madad yā Sādāti Aṣḥābi Rasūlillāh, Madad yā Mashāyikhinā, Dastūr Mawlana Sheikh Abdullāh al-Fā’iz ad-Dāghistāni, Sheikh Muḥammad Nāẓim al-Ḥaqqānī. Madad. Ṭarīqatunā aṣ-Suḥbah wa l-Khayru fi l-Jam‘iyyah.
Bismi Llāhi r-Raḥmāni r-Raḥīm:
(Qur’ān 06:32). ‘Wa mā l-hayāatu d-Dunyā illā la’ibun wa lahwun wa la’d-dāru l-Akhiratu khayrun lil-ladhīna yattaqūn’, ‘And the worldly life is not but amusement and diversion; but the home of the Hereafter is best for those who fear Allah.’ Ṣadaqa Llāhu l-‘aẓīm.
The life of dunyā is amusement and entertainment, says Allah ‘Azza wa-Jalla. People think they are doing something. Unless they are on the way of Allah ‘Azza wa-Jalla, they are things that have no value. The ākhirah is the better one. In dunyā, human beings can still live comfortably, enjoy and have fun, but within the limits ordered by Allah ‘Azza wa-Jalla. A person will be satisfied with that. He will be much more comfortable, and much more pleased. Allah ‘Azza wa-Jalla has given everyone’s sustenance and destiny. As he lives, he gradually acquires them or experiences them. After that, people pass away to ākhirah.
That is why, dunyā is, “Matā’u Al-Ghurūr’, ‘The enjoyment of delusion’, He ﷻ says. (3:185). Dunyā deceives people. A person says he will do something. He leaves his own path and enters other paths so that he can benefit more, “It will benefit me and I will earn more.” He might win and he might not. That person’s life does not stop, it moves on. One day you say, “It will happen today,” then you say, “It will happen tomorrow,” and tomorrow you say later, and life passes. His life ends at a loss without doing anything. This life has a specified time for people. Life is also something
created by Allāh ﷻ. Life and death are both created by Allāh ﷻ; they are not uncreated, but created. There is life and death for everything.
Therefore, you have to be careful while in this life. You must be with good people. Because we are living in the end of times. People of today are greedy. They deceive a lot of people saying that so-and-so became rich, or that person became rich like that, just to deceive people. One in a hundred thousand becomes rich from that thing. Everyone goes down that path thinking, “This happened with everyone, and I can too.” There are winners on that way too. The winners are those who cheat people. What they win is not profit but loss. They don’t know it. But in this regard, the person who is deceived loses his livelihood and harms his family.
That’s why, we need to be careful while living in dunyā. Be content with whatever Allāh ﷻ has given you and work on making a living with it. It will be barakah to you. “I will give one and gain a hundred,” he loses this one also. There is a proverb, they say that while he is going to Damietta for rice, he loses the bulgur he has in his hand. Damietta is very famous in Egypt. Egyptian rice is famous. While he has bulgur in his hand, he throws it away saying, “I don’t want it. Now I’m going to buy rice.” They don’t give him rice there either. He remains in between. So this exists since the old times but now it is much more. Fraudsters and cheaters have reached a much more advanced level in our time. Especially when they see naive people, they suck their blood, they show no mercy.
Therefore, whether he was a brother, a murid, a Muslim, you must be careful from him. He can be in the guise of a brother. He can also be in the guise of a scholar. Cheaters can disguise themselves as Hodjas or teachers or any kind of guise. They have reached very advanced levels. That’s why, it’s not good to believe them. Anyway, if a person asks a little, he will know. Accept the advice. Don’t doubt the advice. Some of them ask, “How is this man?” “Beware! Don’t do business with this man.” “What’s with this man? They are jealous of me. I will work with him.” He works with him and then regrets it.
May Allāh ﷻ give mind and understanding. May Allāh ﷻ not put our sustenance in the hands of such people, in shā’a Llāh. Because not only is your sustenance gone, but you also make the cheater commit a sin one more time. So, apart from your loss, you are doing harm on two sides. After all, that so-called cheater is a Muslim. Be alert so that he does not commit a sin! Don’t give him an opportunity. Don’t give your ego or his ego the opportunity to commit sins. May Allāh ﷻ help us. May Allāh ﷻ protect us from committing or causing others to commit sins, in shā’a Llāh.
Wa min Allah at-Tawfiq. Al-Fatiha.
