Tie Your Camel First, Then Trust in Allāh ﷻ

As-Salāmu ‘Alaykum wa Raḥmatullāhi wa Barakātuh. A‘ūdhu Billāhi Minash-shayṭāni r-rajīm. Bismillāhi r-Raḥmāni r-Raḥīm. Wa ṣ-Salātu wa s-Salāmu ‘alá Rasūlinā Muḥammadin Sayyidi l-Awwalīna wa l-Akhirīn. Madad yā RasūlAllāh, Madad yā Sādāti Aṣḥābi Rasūlillāh, Madad yā Mashāyikhinā, Dastūr Mawlana Sheikh Abdullāh al-Fā’iz ad-Dāghistāni, Sheikh Muḥammad Nāẓim al-Ḥaqqānī. Madad. Ṭarīqatunā aṣ-Suḥbah wa l-Khayru fi l-Jam‘iyyah.

Bismi Llāhi r-Raḥmāni r-Raḥīm: “ ”, “Wa Man Yatawakkal Alá Allāhi Fahuwa Ĥasbuhu ◌ 'Inna Allāha Bālighu 'Amrihi ◌ Qad Jaala Allāhu Likulli Shay'in Qadrāan”, “And whoever relies upon Allah - then He is sufficient for him. Indeed, Allah will accomplish His purpose. Allah has already set for everything a [decreed] extent.” (Qur’an 65:03). Ṣadaqa Llāhu l-‘aẓīm.

Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla teaches people what they should do. The instructions are in Qur’ān ‘Aẓīmu sh-Sha’n and the beautiful words of our Holy Prophet ﷺ. People today, all of them, that is ninety-nine percent; it would rather be accurate to say nine hundred and ninety-nine per thousand, are confused about what to do. It was like this before, but now there is more of that confusion. “What will I do? How shall I act? What will happen? How will I get by? Will I get sick? Will I live?” These all exist in the ego and essence of mankind.

The cure for that is: “And whoever relies upon Allāh ﷻ - then He ﷻ is sufficient for him”, says Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla. By relying on Allāh ﷻ, you will know that what Allāh ﷻ wants will happen. “Inna Allāha bālighu amrihi.” (Qur’an 65:03). What Allāh ﷻ wills will happen. Everything has its time, or its happening. Therefore, if a person wants to be comfortable and live without worry, he must rely on Allāh ﷻ. He must submit to the will and destiny of Allah ‘Azza wa-Jalla. Destiny is the secret of Allāh ﷻ. He must surrender to it.

Of course, he must do what he does and what he can do. After that, he should rely on Allāh ﷻ and wish for what Allāh ﷻ wants. Whatever Allāh wishes, may it be good. May it be as Allāh ﷻ wants. It is necessary to make du‘ā’ that may what He ﷻ does not want or like not happen. Because you will both rely upon Him ﷻ and follow the path that Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla tells you. You should look at everything. You should follow Allāh’s ﷻ work with the specialties that He ﷻ has given you. That is relying on Allāh ﷻ. It is not: relying upon Him ﷻ and sitting around doing nothing. You must do. Then, you must be pleased with what happens. You must accept what happens next.

There is a famous hadith of Prophet ṣallá Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam that says, “Aʿqil wa Tawakkal”, “Tie it, then rely upon Allāh ﷻ.” One of the companions left the camel [without tying it] in front of Masjid anNabawi of our Holy Prophet ﷺ, saying that he had relied upon Allāh ﷻ. So it was gone. After that, he came to our Holy Prophet ﷺ and said, “My camel is gone.” “What have you done?” “I left it here because this is a Masjid. I relied upon Allāh ﷻ as I will enter to prayer and listen to the good words. I looked and it has run away,” he said. That is a famous holy hadith. “Aʿqil” means tie it, then rely upon Allāh ﷻ. So there is a principle for everything. After following that principle, in shā’a Llāh it becomes a peaceful life and your hereafter will be prosperous in shā’a Llāh.

Wa min Allah at-Tawfiq. Al-Fatiha.
