The Heart Belongs to Allāh ﷻ

3 min read

As-Salāmu ‘Alaykum wa Raḥmatullāhi wa Barakātuh. A‘ūdhu Billāhi Minash-shayṭāni r-rajīm. Bismillāhi r-Raḥmāni r-Raḥīm. Wa ṣ-Salātu wa s-Salāmu ‘alá Rasūlinā Muḥammadin Sayyidi l-Awwalīna wa l-Akhirīn. Madad yā RasūlAllāh, Madad yā Sādāti Aṣḥābi Rasūlillāh, Madad yā Mashāyikhinā, Dastūr Mawlana Sheikh Abdullāh al-Fā’iz ad-Dāghistāni, Sheikh Muḥammad Nāẓim al-Ḥaqqānī. Madad. Ṭarīqatunā aṣ-Suḥbah wa l-Khayru fi l-Jam‘iyyah.

Bismi Llāhi r-Raḥmāni r-Raḥīm: “ ”, "Wa lā tajʿal fī qulūbinā ghillan li-lladhīna āmanū rabbanā innaka raūfun raḥīmun”, “and put not in our hearts [any] resentment toward those who have believed. Our Lord, indeed You are Kind and Merciful.” (59:10). Ṣadaqa Llāhu l-‘aẓīm.

Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla says not to leave evil and hatred in our hearts towards the believers. Believers are the servants whom Allāh ﷻ loves. He ﷻ says that this shouldn’t be in our hearts. This du‘ā’ is both an āyah from the Qur’ān and a du‘ā’ that is recited. It is a beautiful one, a very beautiful one; all of them are beautiful. This is another beauty. Because a believer should not leave anything in his heart towards another believer. Of course, human beings encounter all kinds of oppositions. He is harmed or someone does something to him. Since it is a matter of this world, it must remain outside the heart.

The heart is the place and abode of Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla. The heart of man is the place reserved for Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla. That’s why, those things shouldn’t enter the heart. As we said, human conditions happen. They happen as a fight or as a dispute; all kinds of things happen. But don’t let that grudge and hatred stay inside you, let it stay outside. Don’t let that heart darken. Don’t let it harm your heart. That heart is a place of light. It is the place of all goodness for people and believers. That’s why, any badness done to it will harm the person.

Therefore, it must be kept clean. The holy awliyā’, prophets, all the beloved servants of Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla order and advise this. Purification of the ego. Purification of the ego means cleansing the ego. Cleansing the ego is from the heart. The most important is the heart. Therefore, it can be outside, outside of it; anything can be there. But you shouldn’t leave it inside.

If anyone reminds you of this - our Shaykh always reminds us of this. But when other people also give it as an advice, that advice is the greatest and most beautiful advice. You will accept it. No matter how rightful you feel or how angry you are, accept that advice and don’t put those things into your heart. Don’t put them in your heart. Because they are the real poison. Poison. If the heart is corrupted, the whole body is corrupted, says our Holy Prophet ṣallá Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam. Therefore, keep that heart clean. Keep away from grudges, hatred and evil. The other things will be corrected again. But the heart is more difficult to correct.

That’s why, let’s keep the heart clean without taking any risks in shā’a Llāh. Do not place hatred or grudge towards anyone in our hearts, towards the believers. Towards a non-believer - you must love him for the sake of Allāh ﷻ, and you must hate him for the sake of Allāh ﷻ. There is no need to love those who hate Allāh ﷻ and those who do not love Allāh ﷻ. We say, may Allāh ﷻ improve them. May Allāh ﷻ protect us.

Wa min Allah at-Tawfiq. Al-Fatiha.
