Ḥalāl Is Delicious and Clean
As-Salāmu ‘Alaykum wa Raḥmatullāhi wa Barakātuh. A‘ūdhu Billāhi Minash-shayṭāni r-rajīm. Bismillāhi r-Raḥmāni r-Raḥīm. Wa ṣ-Salātu wa s-Salāmu ‘alá Rasūlinā Muḥammadin Sayyidi l-Awwalīna wa l-Akhirīn. Madad yā RasūlAllāh, Madad yā Sādāti Aṣḥābi Rasūlillāh, Madad yā Mashāyikhinā, Dastūr Mawlana Sheikh Abdullāh al-Fā’iz ad-Dāghistāni, Sheikh Muḥammad Nāẓim al-Ḥaqqānī. Madad. Ṭarīqatunā aṣ-Suḥbah wa l-Khayru fi l-Jam‘iyyah.
Bismi Llāhi r-Raḥmāni r-Raḥīm:, "Yā ayyuhā n-nāsu kulū mimmā fī larḍi ḥalālan ṭayyiban wa lā tattabiʿū khuṭuwāti sh-shayṭāni innahū lakum ʿaduwwun mubīn”, “O mankind, eat from whatever is on earth [that is] lawful and good and do not follow the footsteps of Satan. Indeed, he is to you a clear enemy.” (2:168) Ṣadaqa Llāhu l-‘aẓīm.
Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla says, “O you who believe, eat good things and don’t follow the footsteps of shayṭān.” Shukr to Allāh ﷻ, Allāh ﷻ has given every blessing. In everything, there is ḥarām and ḥalāl. Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla says, “Eat from what is ḥalāl.” It will be good and a cure for you. What you eat will be good for you. Do that. Don’t follow the shayṭān. Shayṭān is striving not for your good but to harm you. That’s why, Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla says so. So be careful what you eat.
In the time we live in, people already have plenty of food. They don’t pay attention to what they eat. Most people do not pay much attention to what is ḥalāl or ḥarām. After that, diseases increase. Because good things don’t harm the stomach. As we said, Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla has given an opposite to everything: Ḥalāl, ḥarām; Ḥalāl morsel, ḥarām morsel; Good food, bad food. There is what is ḥalāl and there is what is ḥarām. There are both. Therefore, a person should eat what is good for him and what is ḥalāl. He should not approach what is not ḥalāl. There’s no need to be rude.
Now they are doing various things to deceive people. They mix various substances into their food so that after eating this food, people will want it all the time. The substances they add are harmful. There are many harmful substances. Instead of salt, they add another substance to make it supposedly sweeter. People have no taste left in their tongue or mouth already. They eat without understanding whether it’s sweet and delicious or tasteless. When they put that, it causes harm to both themselves and their bodies. Their spirituality is also harmed.
Therefore, Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla says to eat what is ḥalāl, clean and good. Avoid ḥarām. There is no benefit in ḥarām. It won’t do any good to your body. It is bad and harmful. May Allāh ﷻ protect us from this. May Allāh ﷻ protect us from the evil and plots of people. That’s why, Mawlānā Shaykh Nāẓim wanted more home-cooked food. Even if what you cook at home is a small amount, it is enough. It gives strength to the body. It also gives strength to īmān. Otherwise, the body also gets sick. And it won’t do any good for your soul either. Those foods won’t do any good for the soul.
You need to pay attention to that. The most important thing, a person’s trust is the human body. Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla has entrusted it to us so that you take good care of it and look after it so that you can perform your worship. So that it be with you until the end of your life. So that it doesn’t weigh you down, but carry you. May Allāh ﷻ protect us. May He ﷻ give us all a good life. And may He ﷻ give us good health and wellbeing in what we eat, in shā’a Llāh. May Allāh ﷻ protect us from unknown and modified foods and forgive us, in shā’a Llāh.
Wa min Allah at-Tawfiq. Al-Fatiha.
