The Missed Ṣalāh Must Be Qaḍā’
As-Salāmu ‘Alaykum wa Raḥmatullāhi wa Barakātuh. A‘ūdhu Billāhi Minash-shayṭāni r-rajīm. Bismillāhi r-Raḥmāni r-Raḥīm. Wa ṣ-Salātu wa s-Salāmu ‘alá Rasūlinā Muḥammadin Sayyidi l-Awwalīna wa l-Akhirīn. Madad yā RasūlAllāh, Madad yā Sādāti Aṣḥābi Rasūlillāh, Madad yā Mashāyikhinā, Dastūr Mawlana Sheikh Abdullāh al-Fā’iz ad-Dāghistāni, Sheikh Muḥammad Nāẓim al-Ḥaqqānī. Madad. Ṭarīqatunā aṣ-Suḥbah wa l-Khayru fi l-Jam‘iyyah.
Our Holy Prophet ṣallá Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam says "A person who says words I didn't say as if our Holy Prophet ﷺ had said it should prepare his place in hell." Our Holy Prophet ṣallá Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam says so because his ﷺ holy words are told with wisdom. They are told with the order of Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla. It is wrong for other people to present them otherwise as if our Holy Prophet ﷺ had said so, because you don't have that wisdom. What you do is lying. And the punishment for that lying is even greater when it comes to our Holy Prophet ṣallá Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam.
Various things appear about Ramaḍān, holy days and some holy nights. People were sharing something about Laylatu l-Qadr last night saying that if you do so, it equals the kaffarah praying. We heard it years ago. But we have to say it to people today, as people are going to think it is true and start obeying it. We are warning them not to obey it. If you perform kaffarah prayer on Laylatu l-Qadr for all prayers you didn't make by praying four rakāt; they are also describing it - it is a description that has nothing to do with prayer. There isn't such a prayer. "That makes up for all your prayers. No need to make qada prayers." They also say it is kaffarah for a several hundred years. There is not such a thing. A person who said this as if our Holy Prophet ﷺ had said so made a big mistake. He should repent for it and ask for forgiveness from Allāh ﷻ.
And the worse side of it is that they use the name of Mawlānā Shaykh Nāẓim and his photos and cheat other people. That is another sin, another slander. We heard that they use the name of Mawlānā. Some people came to us who have been cheated by them for years. "We are Khalīfah. We are this and that. If you do like this, you must do like that. You must serve me. You're
forbidden to go to Shaykh. Only I am allowed to see the Shaykh." It was the same in Mawlānā Shaykh Nāẓim's time as well. Some Khalīfahs used to claim there was no need to go to Shaykh and no permission. Even though they could, they were forbidden. They had deprived these people from seeing Shaykh Efendi for years. There is a punishment for it. If people ask about it in ākhirah, they won't be able to pay their account.
These matters - Our ṭarīqah and sharī‘ah are the same. They have no difference. Therefore, it is wrong to cheat people by saying there is esoteric knowledge and some other knowledge. And may Allāh ﷻ help people; while they are trying to walk on the way of Allāh ﷻ, they are cheated by these people for their gullibility. Cheaters think they get some benefit, whereas they attain so many sins. They take so many rights of the servants. There is the right of a servant apart from sins. That is a greater issue.
Regarding qada prayers, never had Mawlānā Shaykh Nāẓim told us not to make qada prayer. Mawlānā used to say, "Pray as much as you can." Shukr to Allāh ﷻ, if you count our daily prayers including the sunnah, nafl and other prayers, it makes about a hundred rakāt of prayers. Mawlānā Shaykh Nāẓim says, it is also mentioned in ḥadīth, on Judgment day, people will be asked about the prayers they didn't perform. "Did you make qada?I did." They will check if that is done. "Did you make qada?We didn’t complete them fully." They will look at the sunnah then. "Are these sunnah prayers enough to cover the qada prayers? They are." Ok. If not, they will look at nafl prayers. The more prayers they will have performed, all of them will be counted as qada. "Don't pray. There is kaffarah for it. There is kaffarah of 100, 500, 1,000 years. You don't have to make qada." People who say so from our Holy Prophet ﷺ are lying.
There are some ḥadīths which are called mawdu’. They were brought up later. Our Holy Prophet ṣallá Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam says, "How do you know it? Look into your heart. If it obeys sharī‘ah and orders brought by me, then it is true." But this one does not conform at all. And it is not acceptable at all. As we haven't heard so from our mashāyikh, this ḥadīth is not right. Don't believe it.
Because when people browse the internet now, there is a lot of fatwá. Everywhere there is fatwás. People are making fatwá as they like; people who live by as scholars. But people believe and do so without investigating. Whereas you can ask about this from righteous people, from righteous imāms and scholars. No need to do that thing out of your head. There is a great punishment for it. It is difficult to compensate it.
Therefore, we must be careful. Especially, we must be very careful with worship in shā'a Llāh, because to make up for farḍ, it is not enough to perform nafl prayers all your life. It is about one farḍ. So think about how much loss you get because of wrong fatwá. Therefore, you must be careful. May Allāh ﷻ protect us. May Allāh ﷻ protect our īmān in shā’a Llāh.
Wa min Allah at-Tawfiq. Al-Fatiha.
