The Month of Forgiveness

2 min read

As-Salāmu ‘Alaykum wa RaḥmatuLlāhi wa Barakātuh. A‘ūdhu BiLlāhi Minash-shayṭāni r-rajīm. BismiLlāhi r-Raḥmāni r-Raḥīm. Wa ṣ-Salātu wa s-Salāmu ‘alá Rasūlinā Muḥammadin Sayyidi l-Awwalīna wa l-Akhirīn. Madad yā RasūlAllāh, Madad yā Sādāti Aṣḥābi RasūliLlāh, Madad yā Mashāyikhinā, Dastūr Mawlana Sheikh Abdullāh al-Fā’iz ad-Dāghistāni, Sheikh Muḥammad Nāẓim al- Ḥaqqānī. Madad. Ṭarīqatunā aṣ-Suḥbah wa l-Khayru fi l-Jam‘iyyah.

Bismi Llāhi r-Raḥmāni r-Raḥīm:

(Qur’ān 39:53) ‘Lā Taqnatū Min Raĥmati Allāhi 'Inna Allāha Yaghfiru AdhDhunūba Jami’āan, ‘Innahu Huwa Al-Ghafūru Ar-Raĥīm’, ‘Do not despair of the mercy of Allah. Indeed, Allah forgives all sins. Indeed, it is He who is the Forgiving, the Merciful.’ Ṣadaqa Llāhu l-‘Aẓīm.

Don’t lose hope in Allah’s ﷻ mercy, says Allah ‘Azza wa-Jalla. Allah ‘Azza wa-Jalla forgives all sins. Some people say, “I am already a sinner. I have many sins. I can’t get rid of them. I’d rather go on doing badness and sins.” They lose hope in Allah ﷻ. That is wrong.

Allah ‘Azza wa-Jalla forgives all sins as long as you ask for forgiveness. He ﷻ is Arhamu Rahimeen. Allah ‘Azza wa-Jalla is Merciful. Mankind cannot forgive most of the time. They cannot do so in their hearts. But Allah ‘Azza wa-Jalla forgives all sins, all badness done, everything done. He ﷻ forgives them.

This month is a beautiful month. It is the month of forgiveness. That is another name for it. It is the month of Allah’s ﷻ forgiveness. The month of Ramadan is the month in which Allah ﷻ forgives people. To regret committing sins and to ask for forgiveness of Allah ﷻ for the honor of this month is a great beauty of this month.

There is always forgiveness. But there are more favors in this month. Goodness and charity are more accepted. As they are more acceptable in this month, see that as an opportunity. You should repent for whatever bad habits you have like drinking alcohol, gambling, adultery, stealing and impudence; and ask for the help from Allah ﷻ in this month so that you don’t get involved with them again.

By the way, there is a bad habit that most people cannot quit at all once they start which is smoking. This month is a good opportunity to quit it. It will be much easier. They will get used to it because they haven’t smoked for a month. It is unclear whether it is a sin, or Makruh. But certainly, it is a very bad thing. It enslaves people and doesn’t leave their egos.

People of old times used to call it the pacifier of shaytan. People can’t quit it. Just like babies can’t quit mothers’ milk, people can’t quit this bad habit once they are caught by it. They want to quit but they got enslaved. They want to get rid of it but cannot. Insha’Allah they will get rid of it by the Barakah of this month. They should ask for help from Allah ﷻ and forgiveness from Allah ﷻ and ask to be saved from this affliction. It is something bad with not an atom of benefit from all aspects. May Allah ﷻ save people afflicted with it insha’Allah.

Wa min Allah at-Tawfiq. Al-Fatiha.
