Keep on the Straight Way

As-Salāmu ‘Alaykum wa RaḥmatuLlāhi wa Barakātuh. A‘ūdhu BiLlāhi Minash-shayṭāni r-rajīm. BismiLlāhi r-Raḥmāni r-Raḥīm. Wa ṣ-Salātu wa s-Salāmu ‘alá Rasūlinā Muḥammadin Sayyidi l-Awwalīna wa l-Akhirīn. Madad yā RasūlAllāh, Madad yā Sādāti Aṣḥābi RasūliLlāh, Madad yā Mashāyikhinā, Dastūr Mawlana Sheikh Abdullāh al-Fā’iz ad-Dāghistāni, Sheikh Muḥammad Nāẓim al- Ḥaqqānī. Madad. Ṭarīqatunā aṣ-Suḥbah wa l-Khayru fi l-Jam‘iyyah.

Our Holy Prophet ṣallá Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam said,

“Shayyabatni Hūd.” There is an Ayah in Surat Hūd about which our Holy Prophet ṣallá Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam says, “It turned my beard gray.” That Ayah is a holy Ayah. BismiLlahi r-Rahmani r-Rahim,

‘Fa-staqim kamā umirta wa-man tāba ma‘aka’, ‘So remain on a right course as you have been commanded, [you] and those who have turned back with you [to Allah ].’(Qur’ān 11:112). “Be upon Istiqamah (the Straight Way).” It is the order of Allah ‘Azza wa-Jalla. Be upon Istiqamah and don’t go astray. This is an order to all Muslims. Who are able to do so are doing so. But there are many things that can take people out of the way. Therefore, staying on the way and fighting with the ego is a big war insha’Allah.

This way, our way is the way of our Holy Prophet ﷺ Shukr to Allah ﷻ, the beautiful way he ﷺ brought to us. Insha’Allah we will keep on this way, on the Straight Way. We cannot go out of the way in order to flatter or please someone. Our way is the way of Islam, the way of Shari’ah. What is Shari’ah? It is to follow Madhhab, to love the things brought by our Holy Prophet ﷺ, to love what he ﷺ loves and to not love things he ﷺ didn’t like. Who are the people he ﷺ loves? Ahlu l-Bayt and Sahabah. They are his ﷺ beloved ones. If you don’t follow their way, you will go out of the way. You will act according to your own mind then, because there are many people who have gone astray. Those who don’t follow either of the four Madhhabs have gone astray as they liked. They said, “This one did this, that one did that”, so shaytan cheated them and misled them.

Because of affliction of the present time like computers and this and that, everyone is writing what they want, fake and false. If people believe that saying, “They said so and so”, they will get into trouble then. It is ok to get into trouble in this world. It is tough to get into trouble in Akhirah. There is no compensation for that. You may carry your punishment in this world. But in Akhirah, you will not have such a chance unless you walk righteously. And the right way is clear, as we said. It is Tariqah and Shari’ah. We need both Tariqah and Shari’ah to be stronger. Otherwise, when you have only one of it, you will leave the way at some point. If you have another one, you will leave at another point. You think you are safe, whereas you are in complete trouble.

May Allah ﷻ protect us. May we all be upon Istiqamah. As we said, Tariqah and Shari’ah must be together. You cannot act as you like in the religion. “I think it should be like this or like that.” Who are you to say “I”? As soon as you say “I”, you are nothing. Saying “I” and being selfish means the ego. May Allah ﷻ protect us. May He ﷻ not separate us from the right way insha’Allah.
