Behave Well Wherever You are
As-Salāmu ‘Alaykum wa Raḥmatullāhi wa Barakātuh. A‘ūdhu Billāhi Minash-shayṭāni r-rajīm. Bismillāhi r-Raḥmāni r-Raḥīm. Wa ṣ-Salātu wa s-Salāmu ‘alá Rasūlinā Muḥammadin Sayyidi l-Awwalīna wa l-Akhirīn. Madad yā RasūlAllāh, Madad yā Sādāti Aṣḥābi Rasūlillāh, Madad yā Mashāyikhinā, Dastūr Mawlana Sheikh Abdullāh al-Fā’iz ad-Dāghistāni, Sheikh Muḥammad Nāẓim al-Ḥaqqānī. Madad. Ṭarīqatunā aṣ-Suḥbah wa l-Khayru fi l-Jam‘iyyah.
Prophet ṣallá Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam says,
“Dārihim mā-dumta fī dārihim, wa ḥayyim mā-dumta fī ḥayyihim.” Giving an advice for the ummah to have wisdom everywhere. Wherever you must be, keep yourself safe. Safe when you are in their [house], “Dārihim mā-dumta fī dārihim.” Which means - these two words look like they are the same, but the first means to be good with people when you are in their house or their place., “Wa ḥayyim mā-dumta fī ḥayyihim.” Also looks like the same word but it is different. Greet them when you are in their street or where they are living.
You must be gentle with people. Because if you are in their place, which is not your place and if you do something, you will be in danger, not be safe. Because when you are aggressive, you are against them, of course, there will be - some people can be patient. But some people can’t be patient. They are also crazy or like this. So you will be in trouble, you will be in dangers and no benefit.
For this, Prophet ṣallá Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam is saying, advising us to know where you must speak, where you must act, what you will do. Allāh ﷻ has given you good thinking. The one with good thinking must do this. There isn’t any harm for you to do this.
Maybe people thought, “No, you must fight against them.” How can you fight and you are one? They will beat you and you will be thrown out. This is not a good idea. Prophet ṣallá Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam says, be with everybody, with everyone good. No need to make enemies wherever you are; no need for this.
Of course, you do not agree with them. And they also do not agree with you. Allāh ﷻ gave for each one something, you cannot force. You must be in good behavior with everybody in speaking and acting. Maybe Allāh ﷻ by this good attribute, good action, good speaking you do, He ﷻ maybe gives hidāyah for others also. But when you are going shouting, running here and there; there is no benefit for this.
Allāh Azza wa Jalla ordered you only what you can do. What you cannot do, He ﷻ didn’t order. Everything for us is clear and open. May Allāh ﷻ save us from bad behavior. The one who behaves badly, I think he doesn’t have good thinking, he is mentally not good. Because the most good behaved one is our Prophet Muhammad ṣallá Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam. He ﷺ is the most perfect and he ﷺ is the highest in everything. So, who is doing against this, he is every time going less and less from perfection. May Allāh ﷻ give us from his ﷺ light in shā’a Llāh, to follow him ﷺ in everything in shā’a Llāh.
Wa min Allah at-Tawfiq. Al-Fatiha.
