Don’t Leave Jum’ah Prayer

As-Salāmu ‘Alaykum wa Raḥmatullāhi wa Barakātuh. A‘ūdhu Billāhi Minash-shayṭāni r-rajīm. Bismillāhi r-Raḥmāni r-Raḥīm. Wa ṣ-Salātu wa s-Salāmu ‘alá Rasūlinā Muḥammadin Sayyidi l-Awwalīna wa l-Akhirīn. Madad yā RasūlAllāh, Madad yā Sādāti Aṣḥābi Rasūlillāh, Madad yā Mashāyikhinā, Dastūr Mawlana Sheikh Abdullāh al-Fā’iz ad-Dāghistāni, Sheikh Muḥammad Nāẓim al-Ḥaqqānī. Madad. Ṭarīqatunā aṣ-Suḥbah wa l-Khayru fi l-Jam‘iyyah.

Bismi Llāhi r-Raḥmāni r-Raḥīm:

(Qur’ān 62:09). ‘Yā ayyuhā alladhīna āmanū idhā nūdiya li ṣ-ṣalati min yawmi l-jumu‘ati fas‘aw ilā dhikri Llah wa dharu l-bay’a dhalikum khayrun lakum in kuntum ta’malun’, ‘O you who have believed, when [the adhan] is called for the prayer on the day of Jumu’ah [Friday], then proceed to the remembrance of Allah and leave trade. That is better for you, if you only knew.’ Ṣadaqa Llāhu l-‘Aẓīm.

Allāh Azza wa Jalla is praising Jum’ah day. It is the most valuable day in the week. Every valuable thing, Allāh ﷻ has given for Prophet ṣallá Llāhu ʿalayhi wa sallam, for human beings to be for them until Yawmu l-Qiyāmah, to be barakah and blessing and every good thing.

For this, on Jum’ah day, there is one time we must keep: this is Jum’ah prayer. It is very important in that time to be not selling and not buying. But of course, in some places it is difficult to keep this but at least every three Jum’ah, at least you must make one. If you cannot make this, your belief, īmān is in danger.

Of course, sometimes a very extreme thing happens. For this also, Allāh, ‘ ’, ‘Lā yukallifu Llāhu nafsāan illā wus’ahā’, ‘Allah does not charge a soul except [with that within] its capacity.’ (Qur’ān 02:286). Allāh ﷻ does not give us what we cannot do, Allāh ﷻ forgives us in shā'a Llāh. But this day, Jum’ah day, is Barakah for the Ummah of Prophet ṣallá Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam, Sayyidunā Muḥammadin ṣallá Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam.

In the time of Prophet ṣallá Llāhu ʿalayhi wa sallam there was no holiday like on the weekend, Jum’ah or other days. Now they made this. Before also I think, everywhere in the world it was not like this. But for other people, Christians or non-Muslims, they were celebrating on Saturday or Sunday. For this, for Muslims also, they made the whole day of Jum'ah a holiday, no work. But normally, there’s no problem to work on Jum'ah. Only [stop for] fifteen minutes or half an hour to pray Jum’ah; this only.

If you are living in a Muslim country you have to, you mustn’t leave this. This makes your - if you leave it, it makes your īmān very weak. Many Muslims are not praying. When you see - maybe people think Muslim countries they are praying a hundred percent, no. Maybe five percent. But for Jum’ah maybe fifty percent; even not fifty percent but it must be. This is a standard for Muslims. He must at least be praying Jum’ah.

But where we are living, people left worshipping. Normally Allāh Azza wa Jalla gave us to pray five times, to be in Divine Presence, to be most nearer to Allāh Azza wa Jalla in prayer. Even once, they are not doing; even sometimes not praying Jum’ah also. You must at least in the week [pray Jum’ah] to be of benefit for you, for your belief, for who are not praying at all: pray Jum’ah, we say. Now also, they were praying Eid twice a year. Also, they are not interested at all now. But this is not good for them. Allāh ﷻ has given them a treasure and they are throwing this treasure away. “We don’t want.” Take one stone at least from this treasure, two stones a year, also not.

May Allāh ﷻ give hidāyah. May Allāh ﷻ keep us in His ﷻ way because this is a big luck for us. We are lucky, al-ḥamdu liLlāh. We are thanking Allāh ﷻ to be until the end of our life not away from this good thing, precious thing. May Allāh ﷻ keep this nī’mah (favor) in our heart and may Allāh ﷻ give hidāyah for others also in shā'a Llāh.
