Make Shukr Instead of Complaining

As-Salāmu ‘Alaykum wa Raḥmatullāhi wa Barakātuh. A‘ūdhu Billāhi Minash-shayṭāni r-rajīm. Bismillāhi r-Raḥmāni r-Raḥīm. Wa ṣ-Salātu wa s-Salāmu ‘alá Rasūlinā Muḥammadin Sayyidi l-Awwalīna wa l-Akhirīn. Madad yā RasūlAllāh, Madad yā Sādāti Aṣḥābi Rasūlillāh, Madad yā Mashāyikhinā, Dastūr Mawlana Sheikh Abdullāh al-Fā’iz ad-Dāghistāni, Sheikh Muḥammad Nāẓim al-Ḥaqqānī. Madad. Ṭarīqatunā aṣ-Suḥbah wa l-Khayru fi l-Jam‘iyyah.

As-Salāmu alaykum wa raḥmatu Llāhi wa barakātuh. Mā shā’a Llāh. Bārakā Llāh, Bārakā Llāh. Allāhumma zidhum ‘Izzan wa Sharafan yā Allāh ﷻ. Allāhumma Hidayah li l-Ummah in shā’a Llāh.

We are saying every time Shukran li-Llāh. We are thanking Allāh ﷻ for what He ﷻ gave us from His ﷻ - He ﷻ gave us the best thing, Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla. And the best thing for us is to be from Ummat Muḥammad ṣallá Llāhu ʿalayhi wa sallam, Sayyidinā Muḥammadin ṣallá Llāhu ʿalayhi wa sallam. This is the most valuable, precious thing for any creature. And the most honored creature: human being. But the most one who doesn’t now the good thing is also human being. What is harming them, they like it. What is good for them, they are running away from it, hating it. They are not loving it. And Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla gave them mind, He ﷻ gave them thinking. He ﷻ gave them everything, and they are still running towards dangerous things, poisonous things, things that are destroying. This is what they are running after.

And Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla showed everything. Yet they are shouting. Look this is proof for what Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla said. Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla said in Qur'ān Aẓīmu sh-Shān, Bismi Llāhi r-Raḥmāni r-Raḥīm:, “Inna fi l-khalqi s-samāwati wa l-ardi wa kh-tilafi l-layli wa n-nāhāri la Āyāt”, “Indeed, in the creation of the heavens and the earth and the alternation of the night and the day are signs.” (Qur’an 03:190). Many proofs for human being to accept and follow this. But still, they are running away.

For this, what we have is very, very valuable. We must be all the time thanking Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla, because this not from our cleverness or from this and that; we must know this also. This is from Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla. He ﷻ gave this good thing for us. ‘ ’, ‘Wa bi sh-shukri tadūmu n-ni’am’, ‘By thankfulness do blessings perpetuate.’ How can we keep this [blessing]? With thanking. Shukr makes the Ni’mah (favor), the good thing to continue. If you are not thanking Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla, that time you are afraid.

Many people are afraid, “How can we keep our faith, our īmān?” This is also from Prophet ṣallá Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam. ‘ ’, ‘Wa bi sh-shukri tadūmu n-ni’am’, ‘By thankfulness do blessings perpetuate.’ With thanking this Ni'mah, which is the most important thing for us – it continues, not cutting. This is also a good tiding because many people are not sure of that.

Of course, there is danger every time for īmān. For this don't complain. If you have this, don't complain for anything. But of course people also cannot control themselves, they are every time complaining, complaining, complaining. And sometimes we see people not complaining but they have the right to complain from illness, from poorness, from many things they have upon themselves. But still, they are not complaining. But we see many people also: they have everything, they have many things and they are complaining and complaining the whole time. They make it as a custom or something. They are happy to be complaining the whole time.

This is because who has belief must know that everything from Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla. This dunyā, this world is for test. We are not living in Paradise. Here is dunyā. Dunyā meaning the lowest. It means the lowest in Arabic. Dunyā meaning lowest, not highest. So we are living in a very low place. Every kind of ibtilā, bala’ (affliction), bad thing, can happen for you.

But who is patient and knows the wisdom of this, will be happy when Ākhirah comes. Allāh ﷻ will reward him. Allāh will ﷻ put him in a special [shadowed place] on Judgment Day. The time when there is nothing, no shadow, no tree, no tent, nothing. And it will be maybe, sometimes years, ten years, a hundred years, sometimes a thousand years. For some people it will be a hundred thousand years also. And there is no food, no water, only sun on you, on these people.

Only the people who are patient and are doing what Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla wants, they will be shadowed under His ﷻ shadow. Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla’s shadow will be upon these people; for those who are patient and following the way of Prophet ṣallá Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam. They will be safe and nothing can affect them. People who were crying, suffering and everything - On that day, these people will be safe, waiting, and then they will go; not staying too much in that place. They will go to Paradise after. Other people will wait. Those who are are not happy with Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla, with His ﷻ order, complaining the whole time and making people suffer.

All of this is in this dunyā. Now also we are living in the end of times. There is more suffering for people. Some of them we know, most of them we don't know: of the suffering of these people. So all of this; those who accept, are patient and ask from Allāh ﷻ to help them will be safe in ākhirah. Maybe in dunyā he cannot be safe, but in ākhirah he will be happy. As Prophet ṣallá Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam is saying, when a shahīd (martyr) becomes shahīd, he likes what Allāh ﷻ gives him from gifts and rewards, he wants to come [back] to be shahīd a thousand times.

For this we are really living in a time, a difficult time. In this time, everywhere they are feeling, but here maybe less than another place. But most of the world are suffering. Even if there’s no war, they are suffering from economic and much oppression. Even without war, there is oppression for people to change their lifestyle. This oppression, everybody feels it.

But be patient. Our order for people: Be patient. If you want anything, ask from Allāh ﷻ. This is what Mawlānā Shaykh was saying. Mawlānā Shaykh, when he says something, he is seeing it before it happens. Maybe before ten years, twenty years, he tells what to do. What did he tell us? Go and demonstrate in the streets, especially in Muslim countries, break windows, break shops. Is this what he ordered us? No. Because Mawlānā knows that those who do this, do this especially to make people hate Islām. Mawlānā Shaykh says, when you want something don't go and shout. Even in the Qur'ān it is said, “Lā tarfā'u aṣ-waṭakum”, “Do not raise your voices.” (Qur’an 49:02). The Mu'min, believer must be calm. He must not be like a toy in the hand of others. No. You want to go? You want anything? Mawlānā Shaykh said, “Go to the mosque, sit there and ask Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla. There is His ﷻ house. Allāh ﷻ looks at you. But when you are shouting, fighting, making trouble, breaking. This is only of benefit for shayṭān and his followers.

For this, we are asking from Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla to help us, to help Muslims everywhere, everywhere there are Muslims, not only one place. Everywhere they have sufferings. Some place more, some place suffering more than what we see, but they are not showing this. Nobody is interested in this. What is happening is a real catastrophe now in the world for everybody, but especially for Muslims. This is what is happening and we are asking, we are praying for Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla to send the Ṣāḥib for all human beings. Because without him, no one can save this world from this humanity, from what they are doing. They are just going to destroy the whole humanity. This is what they’re doing, running after this.

But al-ḥamdu liLlāh, we are happy. We know from Prophet ṣallá Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam, Allāh ﷻ promised him ﷺ that the whole world will be, in shā'a Llāh, in peace. Islām: salām. When he comes, everything will be perfect. Now everything is bad. People are eating each other, killing each other, destroying everything. This is the worst time since Ādam ‘alayhi s-salam. Because as Prophet ṣallá Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam is saying, this time it will be that who is saying a good thing is prohibited to say a good thing. He must say a bad thing. He must do what Allāh ﷻ prohibited; he must do it. What He ﷻ ordered, don't do it. This is this time, which means this is the worst time. But in everything: there is after completion (peak), it will be coming down.

This, in shā’a Llāh, we are hoping for it to be near, to save these people, humanity. Sayyidinā Al-Mahdī ʿalayhi s-salām, in shā’a Llāh. This is what Prophet ṣallá Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam and our Imāms of Ākīdah, Ahlu s-Sunnah wa lJamā'ah, believe in this. We believe like what Prophet ṣallá Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam said. Because al-ḥamdu liLlāh he ﷺ is ṣādiqu l-amīn (The Truthful and Trustworthy) - everything has happened, now this the last thing still.

Because we are in a world where you see nothing going better, everything going worse. And only Sayyidinā Al-Mahdī ‘alayhi s-salām can stop this and change it to the better in shā’a Llāh. May Allāh ﷻ send us this. We are praying. We are by the order of Mawlānā, not shouting, breaking anything or making harm for anything. In everything, we are with Allāh ﷻ. This is our weapon. ‘Silāḥ al-Mu'min ad-Du'ā’, which means the weapon of the Mu'min is Du'ā. It is more effective than missiles, more effective than tanks, guns, bombs. It is more effective. Allāh ﷻ promised this. We are, al-ḥamdu liLlāh, we are saying, we are asking for Allāh ﷻ to send him. And in shā’a Llāh, we be with him in these nice days. After these dark, black days in shā'a Llāh, we have this light and happiness. To pray with happiness. For the whole world to say, “Lā ilāha illā Llāh Muḥammadun Rasūlu Llāh ṣallá Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam.” May Allāh ﷻ make it very near in shā’a Llāh.
