As-Salāmu ‘Alaykum wa Raḥmatullāhi wa Barakātuh. A‘ūdhu Billāhi Minash-shayṭāni r-rajīm. Bismillāhi r-Raḥmāni r-Raḥīm. Wa ṣ-Salātu wa s-Salāmu ‘alá Rasūlinā Muḥammadin Sayyidi l-Awwalīna wa l-Akhirīn. Madad yā RasūlAllāh, Madad yā Sādāti Aṣḥābi Rasūlillāh, Madad yā Mashāyikhinā, Dastūr Mawlana Sheikh Abdullāh al-Fā’iz ad-Dāghistāni, Sheikh Muḥammad Nāẓim al-Ḥaqqānī. Madad. Ṭarīqatunā aṣ-Suḥbah wa l-Khayru fi l-Jam‘iyyah.

Al-ḥamdu liLlāh today is the 27th of Rajab, a holy day. Our Holy Prophet ṣallá Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam advised to revive its night and to fast its day. It is not farḍ. But in order to benefit from it, our Holy Prophet ṣallá Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam shows us goodness and good things. He ﷺ shows us beneficial things. Do them, and be closer to Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla. Leave that thing, it will increase your rank. Pay attention to your praying. Apart from praying, nafl worship is the worship that makes you closer to Allāh ﷻ. Our Holy Prophet ṣallá Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam tells us to do them.

Of course, when you do them, it is also important to have good manners. A generous person is better than a non-generous worshipper. Allāh ﷻ loves the generous ones. Therefore, don't get into Waswasa saying, "I am praying and doing these things. I don't need anything else." There is great benefit in that as well. There is charity and helping works which bring more thawāb than nafl prayers. You should help other people. Doing various good deeds is sometimes better than doing nafl worship. It's more acceptable and brings more thawāb.

But you must do the both. Do not only worship and think there is no need to do good deeds. There is a need. The more goodness you do, the more you will get in ākhirah. Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla has mentioned this everywhere in Qur’ān ‘Aẓīmu sh-Sha’n. Whoever does goodness will get it in ākhirah even if [as small as] an atom of goodness. And those who do evil will certainly be punished unless they repent and ask for forgiveness.

Shukr to Allāh ﷻ, He ﷻ showed us the value of these beautiful days. He ﷻ showed us, shukr to Allāh ﷻ. We wouldn't know if He ﷻ didn't show us. Therefore, we must make shukr. Don't think we perform this worship thanks to ourselves. Without the help and support of Allāh ﷻ, you would do just like others. And do not ever see yourselves superior than others. Never ever think of yourselves as superior over others in this world.

A priest came to Sayyidinā Junayd al-Baghdādī one day. He asked him, "Are you superior, or am I superior?" Junayd al-Baghdādī replied to him, "Come next week, and I will answer you." He came the next week, but Junayd al-Baghdādī had died. He told the man next to him, "I had a question to him that he didn't answer. How will I get the answer now? He had promised me.” “Let me ask once again.” He asked, and Junayd al-Baghdādī replied from the hereafter, “I am more superior.” “Why? You didn't say this last week.I was alive. How would my last breath be: would I go with īmān, or would I go in kufr? If I went in kufr, I'd be worse than you. You'd be superior then, and I would be inferior. But shukr to Allāh ﷻ, I passed with īmān. Therefore, I am superior." He didn't tell the priest he was superior because he was a believer and prayed. Only when he secured himself, when he gave his last breath and passed away to ākhirah with īmān, he said he is superior. The priest became Muslim when he heard that. May Allāh ﷻ help all of us. Don't look for superiority. May Allāh ﷻ give guidance to others. May Allāh ﷻ protect us from the evil and their fitnah. We must say this too.

Wa min Allah at-Tawfiq. Al-Fatiha.
