Guard the Trust
As-Salāmu ‘Alaykum wa RaḥmatuLlāhi wa Barakātuh. A‘ūdhu BiLlāhi Minash-shayṭāni r-rajīm. BismiLlāhi r-Raḥmāni r-Raḥīm. Wa ṣ-Salātu wa s-Salāmu ‘alá Rasūlinā Muḥammadin Sayyidi l-Awwalīna wa l-Akhirīn. Madad yā RasūlAllāh, Madad yā Sādāti Aṣḥābi RasūliLlāh, Madad yā Mashāyikhinā, Dastūr Mawlana Sheikh Abdullāh al-Fā’iz ad-Dāghistāni, Sheikh Muḥammad Nāẓim al- Ḥaqqānī. Madad. Ṭarīqatunā aṣ-Suḥbah wa l-Khayru fi l-Jam‘iyyah.
The trust is important. Guarding the trust is important. Our Holy Prophet ṣallá Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam was [known as] Muhammad Al-Amin, the Trustworthy. Before his ﷺ prophethood, he ﷺ was called as trustworthy Muhammad ṣallá Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam. Whatever trust they had, they used to pass it to our Holy Prophet ﷺ as he ﷺ returned it the way it was. People of old times certainly needed a trustworthy person to have back what they gave him.
The trust is the most important thing. Betraying the trust is treachery. Allah ‘Azza wa-Jalla doesn’t like it. People of the present time have no trustworthiness. Rarely can you see it. Rarely is it there. There is no trustworthiness in all kinds of work. Trustworthiness is important. When people trust you with something and say, “We are giving this to you for such and such purpose”, you must deliver it to the designated place. Expecting profit from that is betrayal of the trust.
This is a delicate account. But people don’t think that much about it anyways. As soon as they take it; it’s hard for you to get it back even if you write it down. If you don’t write it down, you can forget about demanding it back. Therefore, this is not benefit at all. People who betray are not clever people. They are stupid people. They are idiots, because when they think it is profitable when they take something, that is not profit but loss. What is the profit? Something that brings you benefit. Betraying the trust never brings benefit. It removes Barakah. It brings you a problem, an illness. It brings badness to you.
Clever people must comply with our Holy Prophet ṣallá Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam. Allah ‘Azza wa-Jalla says the cleverest one with the highest intelligence is our Holy Prophet ṣallá Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam. He ﷺ guarded the trust. He ﷺ never betrayed the trust. He ﷺ saw it has no benefit in this world - he ﷺ showed us that; our Holy Prophet ṣallá Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam knows that anyway.
Therefore, this is an important matter. People underestimate it. As we said, they either don’t guard the trust directly, or they use the given trust otherwise and want to get some profit. May Allah ﷻ protect us from betraying the trust knowingly or unknowingly. May He ﷻ let us guard the trust insha’Allah. May Allah ﷻ help us all.
Wa min Allah at-Tawfiq. Al-Fatiha.
