Imitating Him ﷺ is Success

As-Salāmu ‘Alaykum wa Raḥmatullāhi wa Barakātuh. A‘ūdhu Billāhi Minash-shayṭāni r-rajīm. Bismillāhi r-Raḥmāni r-Raḥīm. Wa ṣ-Salātu wa s-Salāmu ‘alá Rasūlinā Muḥammadin Sayyidi l-Awwalīna wa l-Akhirīn. Madad yā RasūlAllāh, Madad yā Sādāti Aṣḥābi Rasūlillāh, Madad yā Mashāyikhinā, Dastūr Mawlana Sheikh Abdullāh al-Fā’iz ad-Dāghistāni, Sheikh Muḥammad Nāẓim al-Ḥaqqānī. Madad. Ṭarīqatunā aṣ-Suḥbah wa l-Khayru fi l-Jam‘iyyah.

Bismi Llāhi r-Raḥmāni r-Raḥīm, they say:

“Inna t-tashabbuh bil-Kirami Falah”, “Imitating good ones leads to success (prosperity, salvation).” To try to imitate good people is success. Falah means: every good thing., “Hayya ‘ala s-Salat, Hayya ‘ala lFalah”, “Come to prayer, Come to success.” Which means the highest thing for human beings. We must imitate good people.

We must first imitate the best one ever: Prophet salla Llāhu ‘alayhi wasallam, Sayyidina Muhammad salla Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam. We must imitate him ﷺ. This is for ourselves the best thing. If we can imitate them, this is the best thing for us. We must praise them. Don’t listen to such people. They don’t know anything about religion and they say, “Don’t imitate. You must do yourself, no need to imitate anybody. Allah ﷻ created him ﷺ as ourselves.” But Prophet salla Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam is not like ourselves. The Sahabah and after Prophet salla Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam also, those who came after him ﷺ, many of them were praising him ﷺ and getting Barakah, getting victory and getting happiness here and hereafter. Allah ﷻ opened for them light to be Hidayah for other people.

Many times, when Prophet salla Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam was invited to somebody’s house, when Prophet ﷺ ate or drank from anything, they were keeping them for themselves as blessings from Prophet salla Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam. There was one Sahabiyyah, a lady Sahabi named Kabshah. Prophet salla Llāhu ‘alayhi wasallam drank from her - they used to put water in a leather bottle to take with them when going to some place. Prophet salla Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam drank from it. And when he ﷺ drank, she quickly cut it [the place from where he ﷺ drank] and left it

with her to be blessed from Prophet salla Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam. Maybe she can leave it all, but I think if she leaves it maybe somebody mixes between his and takes it. But when she did this nobody can use it, so only she knew the value of this.

There were many things as such. After Prophet salla Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam also, there were many things from Prophet salla Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam left, and the Sahabah were making Tabarruk and Tawassul. They are getting benefit from this. Sayyidina Khalid Ibn Al-Walid was never losing any battle because he was putting Prophet salla Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam’s hair in his turban. All his life, he won every battle. And his battles are not like these battles. Maybe 20 or 30 thousand people were winning on 100 thousand and 200 thousand strong, armed and learned armies. They weren’t only battles of 100 or 200 people; no. The battles were huge. You cannot imagine how big it was with 200 thousand people! With Barakah of Prophet salla Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam - he knew this also so he put [his ﷺ holy hair in his turban.] He even won against the most dangerous one. Especially the liar prophet Musaylama al-Kadhdhāb (Musaylima the Liar) whom he won. Many Muslim armies [before] came to finish them but they couldn’t finish and many Sahabah were martyred. Even two thousand from Sahabah who knew Qur’an by heart were martyred by this liar prophet. But AlhamduliLlah with Barakah of Prophet salla Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam he won on them.

So to imitate these people, we also get blessings from the holy things (relics) of Prophet salla Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam. Even making Ziyarah, it is no problem. Don’t listen to people. Because we say this to people, but maybe some people cheat them saying, “Don’t make this. Don’t make that.” But if they are listening to them, they will really be cheated. There are thousands of examples from Sahabah and from other people. And after the Sahabah, Tabi‘īn and Tābi‘ī l-Tābi‘īn, they were all taking blessings from the holy things (relics) of Prophet ﷺ, Sahabah and Awliya. And they were curing and getting more Barakah and more Iman.

AlhamduliLlah here also and everywhere there is these good people, their graves and their Mazar. If you are in difficulty, you can make Ziyarah (visit) to them and ask Allah ‘Azza wa-Jalla, “For the sake of these good people. Our Dua is not accepted but [we ask] by their means.” We are not asking from graves but asking from Allah ﷻ through these people who are very beloved for Allah ﷻ. Allah ﷻ accepts insha’Allah. Everywhere AlhamduliLlah we have [such ones]: here (Singapore), Malaysia, Indonesia… In all Muslim countries, there are millions of these people. You can ask Allah ﷻ for their sake to help you and make you stronger in everything: in health, wealth, happiness and especially in Iman. We are asking them for Madad, Madad from Allah ﷻ through them insha’Allah. They are alive. There are thousands of Shaheed, there are thousands of ‘Ulama and Awliyau’Llah. May Allah ﷻ help you through them insha’Allah. Because many people in war saw these people coming and helping who were fighting. Insha’Allah with these people, Islam will be all the time winner insha’Allah.

May Allah ﷻ keep our hearts clean with these people. Don’t listen to people who are really cheating people. Because in this – we hear sometimes some people being cheated by them. Who cheats them is not ‘Alim, he’s not a scholar. Normally, he’s one of the people but people are listening. When shaytan is whispering for them, they listen to this. For this, be really careful, very careful from these people. If you know these people, no need to attend any of their Majlis (gathering) which they say is for teaching. They are teaching hatred. They are teaching whisperings. They are teaching Waswas. This is what they are teaching. So don’t go to these people. Don’t listen to them. Mawlana was also many times saying this because one word or funny idea can make your heart and make you in doubt. So don’t listen to these people. Don’t attend their places. May Allah ﷻ keep us safe from shaytan and his followers, and from Waswas of shaytan insha’Allah.
