Alim Wa Amil

Assalamu Alaykum wa Rahmatullah wa Barakatuh, Auzu Billahi Minashaytanir Rajeem. Bismillahir Rahmanir Raheem, Wassalatu Wassalamu ala Rasulina Muhammadin Sayyidul Awwalin wal Akhirin, Madad Ya Rasulallah, Madad Ya Sadat As’habi RasuLillah, Madad Ya Mashayikhina, Dastur Mawlana Sheikh Abdullah Faiz Daghestani, Sheikh Nazim al-Haqqani. Madad. Tariqatunas sohba, wal khayru fil jamiyya.

Bismi Llāhi r-Raḥmāni r-Raḥīm:

(Qur’ān 29:57). ‘Kullu nafsin dhā`iqatu l-maụt thumma ilaynā turja’ụn’, ‘Everyone shall taste death. Then to Us will you be returned.’ Allah ‘Azza wa-Jalla says, certainly everyone will die. Everyone will taste death and return to Allah ﷻ. ʾInnā li-llāhi wa-ʾinna ʾilayhi rājiʿūn – We came from Allah ﷻ and we will return to Allah ﷻ. People forget that and deal with unimportant things.

Today, the man who knew that he’d return to Allah ﷻ and whose whole life was full of good deeds passed away. He was from Ulama-i Amileen, Ulama-i Saliheen. “Alim wa Amil” means the one who does what he knows, the one who knows Haram and Halal. The rank of such people is very high. May Allah ﷻ bless his soul and may his maqam be high, Shaykh Ali Efendi is gone. We are very sad. His Maqam is high. But it is difficult for us that he has left. It is the order of Allah ﷻ. He was given that much breath and that much life. He was at a young age, not old. He is assumed to be young; he wasn’t even 50 years old.

He had various beautiful attributes of our Holy Prophet., “The old youngster.” Allah ﷻ loves the youngster who looks old. What does it mean? It is the one who prefers Akhirah and does not prefer this world. Therefore, Allah ‘Azza wa-Jalla loves those who don’t act like the young but act like the old. And He doesn’t like people who are old but act like the young. That is the opposite; the one who doesn’t say that he’s old and does foolish things.

Shaykh Ali Efendi’s father was a Murid of Grandshaykh Abdullah ad-Daghestani. Grandshaykh Abdullah ad-Daghestani had said, “I have two Murids: Shaykh Nazim and Shaykh Hussain. They are my two Murids”. And Shaykh Ali was the son of Shaykh Hussain. Shaykh Hussain was a very humble and great Awliyah. And his son was going after his beautiful steps as his Khalifah. He had a good nature and a good patient character, always getting along with people. He did goodness to everyone. He was a great ‘Alim. His knowledge was true knowledge, knowledge of Ahlu s-Sunnah wa l-Jama’ah. And he was very knowledgeable in Tasawwuf. Allah ﷻ will keep his way insha’Allah. That way will not be cut, it will go on.

There are many people who love him. But it is the order of Allah ﷻ. It was his turn. And you can’t go against the order of Allah ﷻ. May Allah ‘Azza wa-Jalla give patience to his family and give patience to us insha’Allah. This separation is not forever, Shukr to Allah ﷻ. We will meet again in Akhirah. And insha’Allah people will be together forever then. What can you do? He left to Akhirah before us. What can we say about the order of Allah ﷻ? We cannot say anything. His goodness on the way he had started will go on until Qiyamah insha’Allah, because he has good children and good works: his books, Murids and loved ones. His goodness will last forever insha’Allah. When a person goes to Akhirah, these are the things that are important. He has taken them with him, Shukr to Allah ﷻ.

May Allah ﷻ increase his Maqam and give patience to his family. May Allah ﷻ not separate us from the right way. May He give us a beautiful thing like death so that we pass away before we lose our way. May Allah ﷻ protect us.
