What is Ṭarīqah?
As-Salāmu ‘Alaykum wa RaḥmatuLlāhi wa Barakātuh. A‘ūdhu BiLlāhi Minash-shayṭāni r-rajīm. BismiLlāhi r-Raḥmāni r-Raḥīm. Wa ṣ-Salātu wa s-Salāmu ‘alá Rasūlinā Muḥammadin Sayyidi l-Awwalīna wa l-Akhirīn. Madad yā RasūlAllāh, Madad yā Sādāti Aṣḥābi RasūliLlāh, Madad yā Mashāyikhinā, Dastūr Mawlana Sheikh Abdullāh al-Fā’iz ad-Dāghistāni, Sheikh Muḥammad Nāẓim al- Ḥaqqānī. Madad. Ṭarīqatunā aṣ-Suḥbah wa l-Khayru fi l-Jam‘iyyah.
Bismi Llāhi r-Raḥmāni r-Raḥīm.
“Yassirū wa-lā Tu‘assiru”, “Make things easy and do not make them difficult”. [Ḥadīth]. “Make it easy. Don’t make it difficult,” Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla says.
“Indeed, religion is ease,” he says. Allāh ﷻ sent the religion of Islām to humanity in accordance with human nature. For people to be able to continue on the way of Allāh ﷻ, this religion must be easy.
People sometimes fear, asking, “What is ṭarīqah?” When they hear the word ṭarīqah, they imagine they will be burdened with stones and forced to carry them. There’s nothing like that. We do the same things as any ordinary Muslim. The only difference is that we connect with a murshid (spiritual guide). Because ṭarīqah is a way that reaches back to our Prophet ṣallá Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam and continues from his time to the present day. The word “Tarīq” itself means “way.” A person who follows that righteous way will go to Paradise, with the permission of Allāh ﷻ, without difficulty and without committing evil. Allāh ﷻ willing, that way is a beautiful one, not a difficult one. Every Muslim performs their prayers and fasts. Those who follow ṭarīqah also perform their acts of worship, and additionally, they adhere more closely to the Sunnah. They follow the way shown by Allāh ﷻ, adhering to the Sunnah, and help others come to the truth. They don’t act according to their own minds; they continue on the way dictated by the etiquette and principles of Islām. This is what ṭarīqah is. Some people, upon hearing the word “ṭarīqah”, perceive it as something terrifying and want to stay away. However, ṭarīqah is about protecting the individual. The difference between ṭarīqah and jamā’ah is vast. How a jamā’ah is formed, what it does, whether its intentions are good or bad, is not clear; only Allāh ﷻ knows. Since most are driven by ego, there is certainly a flaw in the formation of jamā’at.
Therefore, ṭarīqah is important. A person on the way of ṭarīqah is, with the permission of Allāh ﷻ, on the way of truth and will not deviate from it. The true way is the way of Allāh ﷻ. May Allāh ﷻ bless you all, in shā’a Llāh. May He ﷻ grant it to others as well; because this is a great blessing, it’s a matter of destiny. May Allāh ﷻ grant it to everyone, in shā’a Llāh.
Wa min Allāhi t-Tawfīq. Al-Fātiḥa.
There are recited Qur’ān Khatms, ayāt, surahs, salawat, tasbihat, tahlilāt, takbirāt, khatms of Dalā’il Al-Khayrāt. May Allāh ﷻ accept all good deeds done. We gift them the soul of our Prophet ṣallá Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam, for the souls of his Ahlu l-Bayt and ṣaḥābah. For the souls of all prophets, Awliyā’, asfiya, mashāyikh. To the souls of all Muslimin and Muslimat, Mu’minin and Mu’minat. For goodness to come and the evil to be warded off.
Li-Llahi Ta’ala, Al-Fatiha.
