The Greatest Honor is Being from His ﷺ Ummah

3 min read

As-Salāmu ‘Alaykum wa RaḥmatuLlāhi wa Barakātuh. A‘ūdhu BiLlāhi Minash-shayṭāni r-rajīm. BismiLlāhi r-Raḥmāni r-Raḥīm. Wa ṣ-Salātu wa s-Salāmu ‘alá Rasūlinā Muḥammadin Sayyidi l-Awwalīna wa l-Akhirīn. Madad yā RasūlAllāh, Madad yā Sādāti Aṣḥābi RasūliLlāh, Madad yā Mashāyikhinā, Dastūr Mawlana Sheikh Abdullāh al-Fā’iz ad-Dāghistāni, Sheikh Muḥammad Nāẓim al- Ḥaqqānī. Madad. Ṭarīqatunā aṣ-Suḥbah wa l-Khayru fi l-Jam‘iyyah.

Allāh ﷻ has forgiven those from the Ummah of our Prophet ṣallá Llāhu ‘alayhi wasallam who committed wrongdoings unintentionally, mistakenly, or under duress. This was not the case with other nations. This is a favor bestowed upon our Prophet ṣallá Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam. Being from the Ummah of our Prophet ṣallá Llāhu ‘alayhi wasallam is a great honor. Allāh ﷻ has granted this favor to our Prophet ṣallá Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam and, through him ﷺ, to his ﷺ Ummah. For our Prophet ṣallá Llāhu ‘alayhi wasallam was born saying, “My Ummah,” and on the Day of Judgment, he ﷺ will intercede for them saying, “My Ummah.” He ﷺ will ask Allāh ﷻ for forgiveness for his ﷺ Ummah.

Being from his ﷺ Ummah is a great honor. Those who understand its value will gain; those who do not will lose. Those who pursue other things, those who follow in the footsteps of those who live only for this world, will gain nothing but harm. They will suffer in this world, and in the Hereafter, they will face even greater suffering.

Therefore, because we are from the Ummah of our Holy Prophet ﷺ, we thank Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla for this blessing every day by performing Shukr prayer. You are not written sin for forgetting something. You are not written sin for things done under duress. Because in the past and in the present, there have been many things done under duress that are contrary to religion. Sometimes it still happens; these things are constant wherever humankind exists. The oppressor thinks he gains something by oppressing others and forcing them to do what he wants; however, Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla forgives the oppressed. Even though it is not very visible today, especially after the Ottoman era, there were a lot of evils done under duress everywhere; Allāh ﷻ has forgiven those who were forced to do them. Because these were done unwillingly. However, those who did it willingly will certainly be held accountable. People who were driven to crime by threats like, “If you don’t do it, I’ll kill you, shoot you, cut you up, or imprison you,” have been forgiven for their actions.

May Allāh ﷻ protect us from evil and wickedness. We give endless thanks to Allāh ﷻ for being part of the Ummah of our Prophet ṣallá Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam. May we, in shā’a Llāh, be among those who appreciate the value of this Ummah. May Allāh ﷻ forgive us all. May He ﷻ grant us his ﷺ intercession. Without his ﷺ intercession, our deeds are nothing; neither our worship nor our deeds would have any value. Therefore, our greatest desire, in shā’a Llāh, is to attain the intercession of our Prophet ṣallá Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam. This, by the permission of Allāh ﷻ, is only granted to those who ask for it. If you say, “My worship is sufficient,” and do not seek his ﷺ intercession, you will fall into a great error. May Allāh ﷻ protect us; your situation in the Hereafter will be very difficult. May Allāh ﷻ protect us all. May Allāh ﷻ be pleased with you all.

Wa min Allāhi t-Tawfīq. Al-Fātiḥa.
