Our Blessed Journey to Iraq
As-Salāmu ‘Alaykum wa RaḥmatuLlāhi wa Barakātuh. A‘ūdhu BiLlāhi Minash-shayṭāni r-rajīm. BismiLlāhi r-Raḥmāni r-Raḥīm. Wa ṣ-Salātu wa s-Salāmu ‘alá Rasūlinā Muḥammadin Sayyidi l-Awwalīna wa l-Akhirīn. Madad yā RasūlAllāh, Madad yā Sādāti Aṣḥābi RasūliLlāh, Madad yā Mashāyikhinā, Dastūr Mawlana Sheikh Abdullāh al-Fā’iz ad-Dāghistāni, Sheikh Muḥammad Nāẓim al- Ḥaqqānī. Madad. Ṭarīqatunā aṣ-Suḥbah wa l-Khayru fi l-Jam‘iyyah.
Shukr to Allāh ﷻ, we were granted to visit Iraq: Baghdad, Karbala, Najaf. May Allāh ﷻ be pleased with them. May their ranks be exalted, and may their Himmah be upon us. These are the great figures of Islām, the great personalities of the Ummah. They invited and called millions to the way of truth, and served them. Their himmah is eternal. Their support is continuous. There is no such thing as “it’s over when they die.” When they die, they become even stronger. Their spiritual strength is greater. Because they no longer have any worldly ties. Their duty continues, never ceasing, to prepare those in this world for the Hereafter. Their records are open. As our Prophet ṣallá Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam said, as long as there are people who pray for you and benefit from your knowledge, your records are open.
Therefore, their books of deeds are open. And they are generous. They make du’ā’ and strive with himmah for others to come to the right way. The rain of mercy never ceases upon their tombs and blessed places. Those who go there do so for the sake of Allāh ﷻ. They seek mercy, forgiveness, and goodness from Allāh ﷻ. Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla does not turn them away empty-handed. Those who go there do not go for this world, but for the hereafter, so that their hereafter may be prosperous; and they can ask for anything.
Shukr to Allāh ﷻ, this journey was a beautiful one. It was a journey undertaken for the pleasure of Allāh ﷻ. Shukr to Allāh ﷻ, we went and returned safely. We returned with mercy. For their sake, we did not return empty-handed, but we returned with Allāh’s ﷻ gifts, in shā’a Llāh. May this, in shā’a Llāh, strengthen our īmān, and may it strengthen the īmān of others, in shā’a Llāh.
These blessed ones, from the time of our Prophet ṣallá Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam and later too, Ahlu l-Bayt, scholars, saints, and great Awliyā’ have been present there in great numbers. Because it is the city of the Caliphate, because it is one of the cities of Islām, people have come from all sides seeking himmah (support), knowledge and wisdom. That place has been filled with their blessed knowledge, grace, and barakah. And it continues in the same way, shukr to Allāh ﷻ. The outward appearances are not important. What is important are the personalities resting there. Their himmah
overshadows worldly matters. It is not for dunyā, but for Allāh’s ﷻ pleasure, in shā’a Llāh. May Allāh ﷻ make it a means of goodness. May their himmah be present, in shā’a Llāh.
Wa min Allāhi t-Tawfīq. Al-Fātiḥa.
They said that 100,000 Quran Khatms were read. We gift them firstly for the noble soul of our Prophet ṣallá Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam, for the souls of all the Prophets, Awliyā’, Asfiya, and mashāyikh. For the souls of all those who have passed away. For the souls of believing men and women, Muslim men and women. May those who read this attain whatever good intentions they may have, in shā’a Llāh. May we all have happiness here and hereafter.
Li-Llahi Ta’āla, Al-Fatiha.
