The Prophet’s ﷺ Parents Were the Best of People

As-Salāmu ‘Alaykum wa Raḥmatullāhi wa Barakātuh. A‘ūdhu Billāhi Minash-shayṭāni r-rajīm. Bismillāhi r-Raḥmāni r-Raḥīm. Wa ṣ-Salātu wa s-Salāmu ‘alá Rasūlinā Muḥammadin Sayyidi l-Awwalīna wa l-Akhirīn. Madad yā RasūlAllāh, Madad yā Sādāti Aṣḥābi Rasūlillāh, Madad yā Mashāyikhinā, Dastūr Mawlana Sheikh Abdullāh al-Fā’iz ad-Dāghistāni, Sheikh Muḥammad Nāẓim al-Ḥaqqānī. Madad. Ṭarīqatunā aṣ-Suḥbah wa l-Khayru fi l-Jam‘iyyah.

The religion of Islām is based on two principles: one is the Qur’ān and one is the Sunnah. Sunnah is what our Holy Prophet ﷺ did, the words he ﷺ said, the beautiful words. You have to follow them.

Allāh ﷻ preserved the Qur’ān ‘Aẓīmu sh-Sha’n. ‘ ’, ‘Innā naḥnu nazzalnā dh-dhikra wa-innā lahu la-ḥāfiẓūn’, ‘Indeed, it is We who sent down the Qur’an and indeed, We will be its guardian.’ (Qur’ān 15:09). He ﷻ says, “We sent down the dhikr, the Qur’ān, and We protect it.” They can’t change it. They cannot do as they wish.

After that, the ḥadīth. The ḥadīths of our Holy Prophet ﷺ, his ﷺ words and Sunnah. Quite a bit after our Holy Prophet ṣallá Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam, they put many ḥadīths among them. They put them according to their own minds. Anyways, our Holy Prophet ṣallá Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam said, when you hear these ḥadīths, if they don’t resonate with your mind and heart, they’re not my ﷺ words, it’s not my ﷺ Sunnah. Do not accept them, says our Prophet ṣallá Llāhu alayhi wa sallam.

Of course, after our Holy Prophet ṣallá Llāhu alayhi wa sallam, ḥadīth scholars appeared. They sorted the ḥadīths. Yet every once in a while, there are things that are not accepted by mind or logic. This so-called Salafi group is using them. One of them is, Ḥāshā (far from it), they say the blessed mother and father of our Holy Prophet ﷺ are kāfirs. Is this something that can ever happen? Ḥāshā. They came up with a ḥadīth claiming it’s a ḥadīth. It’s an irrelevant ḥadīth. Certainly, the jews or polytheists at that time put it there.

That is something that is not accepted. Our Holy Prophet ṣallá Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam and all the prophets’ lineage is clean, with faith and light. They came with light. That light is passed from the father to the mother, from the grandfather. There can be no kufr in the place where that light comes. Kufr occurs where there is no light. That light definitely pervades the whole lineage. These blessed ones are in the highest places of paradise.

Therefore, as we said, now they write according to their own minds, “This ḥadīth is weak. This is good.” Whereas what is called as mawḍū´(fabricated) is the ḥadīth that has something put in it. The others are not like that. So these enter neither the mind, nor a person’s heart.

That’s why, Mawlānā Shaykh Nāẓim was often angry about this. He came from Damascus once. An imām said this in the khuṭbah. Mawlānā Shaykh Nāẓim was getting angry like fire. He was very angry with him. “How does he say that? What kind of thing is that?” He even said, “If it wasn’t Jum’ah, I would have left.” He was that angry.

So the ranks of these holy people are at the highest level. The people who carry the atom of our Holy Prophet ﷺ carry the light. Of course, that light protects them from everything, and raises them to the highest levels.

Therefore, you must respect them. You must know that their ranks are high. People of ṭarīqah and Muslims must know this. It’s not an extreme thing. It is the truth. The truth must be said. Because, Ḥāshā, sometimes people say, “Our Prophet’s ﷺ mother and father were not Muslim.” Ḥāshā, there is no such thing. When that light passes, the īmān of them all will be a thousand times more than yours and mine. Īmān is in them.
