and On Women Going to the Mosque

As-Salāmu ‘Alaykum wa RaḥmatuLlāhi wa Barakātuh. A‘ūdhu BiLlāhi Minash-shayṭāni r-rajīm. BismiLlāhi r-Raḥmāni r-Raḥīm. Wa ṣ-Salātu wa s-Salāmu ‘alá Rasūlinā Muḥammadin Sayyidi l-Awwalīna wa l-Akhirīn. Madad yā RasūlAllāh, Madad yā Sādāti Aṣḥābi RasūliLlāh, Madad yā Mashāyikhinā, Dastūr Mawlana Sheikh Abdullāh al-Fā’iz ad-Dāghistāni, Sheikh Muḥammad Nāẓim al-Ḥaqqānī. Madad.

1Qala RasuluLlah salla Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam The Messenger of Allāh ﷻ (peace be upon him ﷺ) says:

Our Holy Prophet ﷺ is saying, “When you see someone buying or selling in the mosque, say to him: “May Allah not make your bargain profitable!” When you see someone announcing something lost in it, say: “May Allah not restore it to you!” So the mosque is for the sake of Allāh ﷻ. Everything must be in the way of Allāh ﷻ. Let people do what they want before entering or leaving [their places]. Then if he lost something, he won’t wonder if it’s in the mosque or here or there. He must be careful not to have, “Su’u z-Zann”, bad presumptions towards people. “I lost my wallet here. I lost my phone.” Our Holy Prophet ﷺ says to tell him, “May Allāh ﷻ not bring back to you what you lost.” That’s why, be careful when you enter the mosque, and let there be no bad presumptions towards others. Be careful so that everyone does not fall under suspicion. If someone loses something, it is his own fault.

2Qala RasuluLlah salla Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam The Messenger of Allāh ﷻ (peace be upon him ﷺ) says:

Our Holy Prophet ﷺ is saying, “Buying and selling in the mosque –” Saying in the mosque, “I will buy a house. I will buy this. I will buy a car. I will buy that”, and bargaining is wrong. Our Holy Prophet ﷺ forbade it. Reporting something lost is prohibited too. Reading poetry and sitting in Halaqah (circles) before Jum’ah prayer is prohibited. Before Jum’ah prayer, the person who comes for Jum’ah may listen to the lesson there, listen to Qur’an or Surahs. But to make a circle for chatting and acquainting is forbidden by our Holy Prophet ṣallá Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam.

3Qala RasuluLlah salla Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam The Messenger of Allāh ﷻ (peace be upon him ﷺ) says:

Our Holy Prophet ﷺ is saying, “Do not take in the mosques as a passage except for Dhikr (remembrance) and prayer.” Old mosques are big. So taking a shortcut passing through it is not good, says our Holy Prophet ﷺ. If you want to enter for prayer, you can enter. Or if you enter wanting to pass to the other side and want to pray, it’s ok. But do not only take it as a passageway, says our Holy Prophet ṣallá Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam.

4Qala RasuluLlah salla Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam The Messenger of Allāh ﷻ (peace be upon him ﷺ) says:

Our Holy Prophet ﷺ is saying, “Permit women to pray in the mosque at night.” It is permissible for them in the time of prayers, performing prayers in the mosque.

5Qala RasuluLlah salla Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam The Messenger of Allāh ﷻ (peace be upon him ﷺ) says:

Our Holy Prophet ﷺ is saying, “Give permission to women to pray in the mosque at night.”

6Qala RasuluLlah salla Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam The Messenger of Allāh ﷻ (peace be upon him ﷺ) says:

Our Holy Prophet ﷺ is saying, “If one’s wife asks for permission to go to the mosque, do not forbid her.” Of course, mosques are not as far away as they used to be. The mosques are already close. That’s why, don’t forbid them from praying in the mosque, says our Holy Prophet ṣallá Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam.

7Qala RasuluLlah salla Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam The Messenger of Allāh ﷻ (peace be upon him ﷺ) says:

Our Holy Prophet ﷺ is saying, “When a woman wants to go to the mosque, she must wash herself from the good smell just as she washes herself from intercourse.” In order not to let others commit sins while going to the mosque, she mustn’t have any perfume on. She mustn’t have any smell at all. If she has perfume on, she must wash off any smell, says our Holy Prophet ṣallá Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam.

Sadaqa RasuluLlah fi ma qal, aw kama qal. The Messenger of Allāh ﷻ says the truth in what he ﷺ said or as he ﷺ said.
