Mind is Mankind’s Adornment

As-Salāmu ‘Alaykum wa RaḥmatuLlāhi wa Barakātuh. A‘ūdhu BiLlāhi Minash-shayṭāni r-rajīm. BismiLlāhi r-Raḥmāni r-Raḥīm. Wa ṣ-Salātu wa s-Salāmu ‘alá Rasūlinā Muḥammadin Sayyidi l-Awwalīna wa l-Akhirīn. Madad yā RasūlAllāh, Madad yā Sādāti Aṣḥābi RasūliLlāh, Madad yā Mashāyikhinā, Dastūr Mawlana Sheikh Abdullāh al-Fā’iz ad-Dāghistāni, Sheikh Muḥammad Nāẓim al- Ḥaqqānī. Madad. Ṭarīqatunā aṣ-Suḥbah wa l-Khayru fi l-Jam‘iyyah.

Allah ‘Azza wa-Jalla gave superiority to people over other creatures. That is with mind. Mind is the adornment of people. Who uses his mind is in profit. It is mentioned in many places in Qur’an ‘Azimu sh-Shan. BismiLlahi r-Rahmani r-Rahim. Qur’ān, ‘ ’, ‘A-fa-lā taʿqilūn’, ‘Then will you not use reason?’ (Qur’ān 37:138). “Do you not have mind? Are you not clever?” There are Ayat like this.

Mankind assume they use their minds. Unless on the right way, their minds have no benefit. Apart from the benefit, those who don’t use their minds are in loss. Because Allah ‘Azza wa-Jalla created people to obey Him ﷻ and to be His ﷻ servants. And He ﷻ created mind in order to serve this, not to serve other things. When they serve other things, they use their minds in the wrong places.

Mind is the adornment of people. Other creatures don’t have mind. They are mindless creatures. Allah ‘Azza wa-Jalla put them on a certain way, and they go on that way. They are not accountable or liable. As Allah ﷻ gave us this beautiful thing, it comes with a responsibility. We must give its account. Allah ‘Azza wa-Jalla will say on Judgment day, “I had given you mind. Why didn’t you use it? Why did you not stay away from badness and not do goodness, whereas you knew what is good and what is bad?” Allah ‘Azza wa-Jalla will question us like this.

Everything has its reward or sin. Those who commit a sin don’t use their minds. Or their minds are following others. They are responsible for it. As we said, mind is a big favor from Allah ﷻ to people. Those who use it will be saved. Those who don’t use it, or people who use it as they like will always be disappointed. May Allah ﷻ protect us. May He ﷻ not take our minds away. May He ﷻ not separate us from the right way insha’Allah..
